Hard stops and heavy loads reveal worn hubs. This ABS-ready Lippert hub and drum comes with bearings, races, oil seal, and installed wheel bolts saving you time on mainentance and restoring smooth braking and steadier towing you can count on.
You know that split second when traffic ahead suddenly stops and you're forced to slam on your brakes? You glance in the rearview mirror hoping your trailer is stopping, not swaying, skidding, or jackknifing. That's when Lippert's anti-lock braking system earns its keep and this hub and drum are part of that system. As the toothy tone ring within the hub rotates, sensors read the rotations and feed data to the ABS system, helping prevent wheel lockup and improve control when braking.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
Figuring out your bolt pattern is easier than it sounds. The first number tells you how many bolt holes you have, and the second is the diameter of the circle they sit on.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. For example, 8 on 6-1/2" means there are 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. For example, 5 on 4-1/2" means there are 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our trailer hub and drum assembly for the Lippert Antilock brake system, 8,000 pound axles. This features an oil bath hub and drum assembly, and it's a 12 and one quarter inch wide and it's an eight on six and a half inch lug pattern. So folks, again, this is painted red. It is for Lippert's Antilock brake system, a replacement hub and drum.
And as you can see on the inside it does come preassembled with the oil bath seal and the inner and outer bearing. The outside one just had on me. And as you can see, this toner ring here has teeth in it and it's got some different colored paint on there as well, which I believe is for matching up. When you're installing this, don't quote me on that, but when this tooth inside of here spin, when this whole hub assembly spins, that tooth tone ring rotates and it matches up and passes the sensor that's inside of the antilock brake system and that feeds data to that system, preventing wheel lockup, and improving control while braking. And once again, this is a four inch wide by 12 and a quarter inch diameter.
And again, that features that eight on six and a half inch lug pattern. And of course if your outer bearing, that would go in there and then it is threaded here. It does not come with an oil bath cap. You would just reuse your cap that you already have. Again, this is made to work with those clear oil bath caps sold separately.
Now again, folks, this is a great replacement part for you. If you are looking for a regular hub and drum for an oil bath in this size, this is not the right one. Again, this is only compatible on works and been designed to work with antilock brake systems by Lippert. Well, folks, that is gonna wrap it up for our quick look together at this trailer hub and drum assembly for the Lippard antilock brake system, 8,000 pound axles. I'm Steven, thanks for watching and reach out to us if you have any questions.
