Shuddering brakes, trailer sway, or grinding under load? Worn drums and bearings put safety at risk. An ABS-ready hub built for Dexter's Tow Assist restores smooth braking, steady tracking, and the peace of mind to tow without second-guessing.
You know that split second when traffic ahead suddenly stops and you're forced to slam on your brakes? You glance in the rearview mirror hoping your trailer is stopping, not swaying, skidding, or jackknifing. That's when Dexter's ABS Tow Assist earns its keep and this hub and drum are part of that system. Inside this replacement assembly, a tone ring constantly feeds data to your existing sensor and to the ABS Tow Assist brain, helping prevent wheel lockup and keeping your trailer tracking straight. It helps give you the control and stability you count on under pressure.
A quick glance is all it takes to know your hub is ready for the road. The clear oil cap lets you spot issues early, so you can hit mountain passes and highway speeds knowing your rig is prepared.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
Figuring out your bolt pattern is easier than it sounds. The first number tells you how many bolt holes you have, and the second is the diameter of the circle they sit on.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. For example, 8 on 6-1/2" means there are 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. For example, 5 on 4-1/2" means there are 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at this trailer hub and drum assembly for your Dexter ABS Tow Assist for your 5,200 pound to 7,000 pound trailer axles. Now, if you happen to have shuddering brakes, trailer sway, or that grinding sound when you're under a load, those are gonna be all red flags that your drums and bearings are possibly worn and that even your safety might be at risk. That's where this ABS-ready hub, designed for Dexter's Tow Assist, is going to come in. This is going to bring back smooth braking, steady tracking, and most importantly, peace of mind when you're towing.
This iron hub and drum includes the integrated toothy edge that you see right here. So this is gonna be ready to connect with Dexter's ABS Tow Assist system. This edge constantly feeds data to the ABS system to help prevent wheel lock-up and it keeps your trailer tracking straight. So it's gonna be all about stability and control when you need it the most. So this is gonna be for anyone running axles that are 5,200 to 7,000 pounds.
And this has a spindle compatibility, as you see there on your screen, of a 2.25 inch inner diameter seal. This is gonna work with wheel sizes from 16 to 17 1/2 inches. Obviously, this is gonna work with your electric brakes. And this is going to be 12 inches in diameter by two inches wide. So it includes everything that you see here on my table.
You're going to get the outer bearing, the inner bearing, the oil seal, the oil cap with the plug and O-ring. And the races are already pressed in, so the races you're not gonna have to worry about since they're already installed. And then, you're also gonna get the lug nuts that are kind of loosely installed there. So this is going to be your inner bearing. It's 25580.
And then, the outer bearing is going to be 14125A. Usually on bearings, you can find that number etched right there, around the perimeter. (bearing clanging) And then, like I said, your oil seal and then your cap. So obviously, it's gonna be clear so you can check the oil levels at a glance. Our bolt pattern is eight on 6 1/2 inches. And if you need help measuring your bolt pattern, we do have that information listed for you near the lower half on this product page. The wheel stud size is a half an inch. Now, in case this is something you are interested about, this is pressed onto the hub itself. It says no rebore allowed, so this can't be rebored, just so you're aware of that. But if you happen to have any other additional questions about this assembly or any of the other items that we carry here at etrailer.com, don't hesitate to reach back out to us because, ultimately, we wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need.
