With the SuperHitch Magnum, you get a 2-1/2" receiver for heavy-duty towing and a 2" receiver for standard towing. Add on the TorkLift Everest weight distribution system (TLWD1000 - sold separately), which is designed exclusively for SuperHitch hitches, and you can max out the 30,000-lb weight capacity of the hitch.

With 2 receivers, you can tow a trailer and carry a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. And if you have a truck bed camper, this hitch has pre-drilled mounting points for TorkLift's super-sturdy camper tie-towns (sold separately). You can also add one of TorkLift's SuperTruss hitch extensions (sold separately) to extend the top receiver of the SuperHitch so that it clears your camper, allowing you to tow your trailer while your camper's installed.

Truck Bed Camper Compatibility

TorkLift is known for their truck camper tie-down systems and other camper accessories, so it just makes sense that they would have camper enthusiasts in mind when designing a trailer hitch. Each SuperHitch is built with integrated mounting points for TorkLift camper tie-downs, making it easier than ever to get a quality tie-down system for your slide-in camper.

TorkLift SuperTruss in SuperHitch

The dual-receiver design of the SuperHitch also makes it easy to tow with your truck bed camper in place. The SuperTruss line of high-capacity hitch extenders is specially designed to extend the hitch receiver back far enough to clear your bed-mounted camper, while still allowing for an excellent towing capacity. An ordinary hitch extender can dramatically reduce your towing capacity. But each SuperTruss extension forms such a solid connection with the SuperHitch that the setup is able to maintain one of the highest weight capacities in the industry. When used with a standard weight distribution system, the setup can maintain up to a 10,000-lb weight limit, even with an extension that is 60" long. As a result, you can clear almost any truck bed camper and still do some heavy-duty towing.

Dual Receivers for Maximum Versatility

With the SuperHitch from TorkLift, you can tow your trailer and use a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. This is thanks to the dual-receiver design of the SuperHitch.

Most trailer hitches have a single receiver. Typically, you can find an adapter or extension piece that will slide into your hitch to give you 2 receivers, but these adapters dramatically reduce both your towing capacity and your tongue weight, limiting how much you can tow, as well as how much you can carry with a bike rack or cargo carrier. Each SuperHitch is specially constructed to maintain a high weight capacity so that you can use the 2 receivers without sacrificing towing or carrying ability.

TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Receiver Adapter

The SuperHitch Magnum features a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" receiver for heavy-duty towing. Directly beneath this receiver is a 2" x 2" opening that is designed to meet your standard towing needs. Want to tow a trailer and carry a bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time? Just slide the included adapter sleeve into the top tube to convert it to a 2" receiver. This way you can use your 2" hitch-mounted accessories and use the bottom 2" receiver to tow a trailer at the same time.

Video Transcript for TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 GMC Sierra

Today on our 2013 GMC Sierra 3500 we're going to take a look at, then show you how to install the Torklift SuperHitch Magnum trailer hitch receiver. This is a class five custom fit hitch. It offers a 2-1/2 and 2" opening. The part number is TLC1209-30. This gives you a great look at what the SuperHitch is going to look like once you get it installed on your vehicle. Really nice heavy duty looking hitch. Beefs up the back of the truck, giving it a good stout look.

Nice and clean, all of your welds look really, really good on it. You can just tell it's quality manufacturing. Now of course this is kind of a big deal here about the SuperHitch. This is going to be our double stack. Now the bottom receiver tube opening here is a standard 2" by 2" receiver tube opening. Has the 5/8 hitch pinhole so you pin and clips and anti-rattle devices designed for 5/8 should work fine with that.

On both outside areas they've reinforced it. Even our safety chain connection points have really been beefed up. Typically you're just going to have a single plate of steel welded under the hitch. In our case here today you can see this is going to be a double stack giving us additional support and additional reliability of these connection points should we have some type of failure. On the top, this is a standard 2-1/2". You can see right here 2-1/2" receiver tube opening.

We're going to take our 2" sleeve, that's going to go in, your hitch cargo carrier, your bike rack. Whatever you want goes right in. Pin slides through. Anti-rattle device slides through. Now on the anti-rattle device or locking hitch pins and clips you will want a class five for the top, class three for the bottom.

We're going to have a maximum tongue weight of 2,500 pounds and a maximum trailer weight rating of 20,000 pounds. Once you go to the weight distribution setup, our tongue weight rating or weight carrying capacity here is going to increase up to 3,000 pounds, and the total trailer weight capacity will go all the way up to the 30,000 pounds. Now of course we always want to look at the vehicle's owners manual, see what it's rated for, and use whichever of those numbers are the lowest. Now a couple measurements that will be important in selecting your ball mount, bike rack, or any other hitch accessory will be from the ground to the inside top edge of our lower receiver tube opening it's 21-3/8". Then from the ground to the inside top edge of our upper receiver tube opening it's 24-3/4. Our hitch pinholes sit about flush with the rear of our bumper as well. The installation is going to begin by removing our spare tire. Let's get the lock out of the way just like that. Then we can lower it on down. You'll then either use your truck's tire tool, or we've just got a universal set here that we use. We'll lower this on down. We're going to go ahead and, remove it just to give us a good look underneath there so you'll be able to see a little bit better. Now the Sierra has an already existing receiver hitch here. We're going to get this out of the way by removing a few nuts and bolts. We've got two bolts right here, one on each side of the receiver tube opening. In the bottom of the hitch here there's a small opening. Right up in there we'll find another bolt. Now those are located here and here on the front side of that receiver hitch. We'll have these two and this one on the other side as well. Let's go ahead and get those down. Now just to help us out I'm going to put this nut back on there with just a couple threads. Then we'll use that to rest our hitch as we remove the rest of our hardware. We'll do the same thing over there on the passenger side. Now we'll go ahead and get the hitch down out of position, set it aside. Good idea with this to get an extra set of hands. It can be a little bit heavy, so get our buddy to come on in, take out those two nuts that we left just barely threaded in there. Now we're going to use one of the M14 bolts, lift our plate up into position, and thread that bolt into the weld nut that was preexisting. Let's let that one hang and he'll take care of the passenger side. Now right up here at the top of the frame there's a small bolt. That's going to connect the frame to the bed of the truck. You can see it there. Now they want us to remove this bolt. To do it we could put a small little ratchet back here, try to get some leverage, but there's a nice big access hole right here so let's go right up through that. Of course to do it we'll have to back up a step and remove our plate. Then if you'll look straight up through there you'll see the bolt that I'm talking about. Passenger side and on the driver side. Now our first step is going to be to take a small spacer plate and place it right over that rearmost hole. Then we'll put our side plate back in, same thing on the other side there. Now we're going to take our M12 by 190 bolt, it's going to be the real long one, put one of the 1x2 spacers on the end. You're going to bring that right up through the rearmost hole and through that block we just added. We then need to put on the length of pipe, slide the bolt on up through that. Then at the very top, another spacer block. Then that gets threaded right into the weld nut that bolt we just removed came out of. Same thing on the driver side. Then we'll place one of the 1/2 by 2" bolts down through one of the spacer blocks, it's a 1x2 block, down through that hole. We're going to do it for both of our locations here. You'll see them here on the outside where we're going to add on another spacer block, one of the lock washers, then a hex head nut. Now we'll pull out on the side plate, get our other side in here. That's going to give us a little bit of support. Now these are going to be inserted from the outside in. We'll want to tap those through with a hammer far enough to get our bolt started. Then we can pull it on the rest of the way. We'll just slide on our locking washer there, then one of our hex nuts. We'll just put the rest of them in position there. Then we can knock them on through. Then we can just go over to the passenger side and repeat that same process. Now we have a previously installed camper tie down system. What we're going to do is back that nut off. We'll grab our angle bracket. Now the open part of that bracket needs to be facing towards us or towards the rear of the truck. Slide that back up on. Then we'll replace our hardware. We'll do the same thing on the driver side. Now we'll take our 1/2" bolt here. Going to place one through each of the holes that's in our bracket just like that. Then on the inside we'll place on a lock washer and a hex nut. Now we're going to go down through, snug up all our fasteners and torque them down to the specifications, which you can find listed in the instructions. Now with everything snug, let's start torquing. Now whether you've removed it completely or just loosened it slightly, let's get this spare tire put back into place. With everything torqued now, that's going to complete today's installation of the Torklift SuperHitch Magnum, offering a class five rating and both a 2" and 2-1/2" receiver tube opening. Its part number is TLC1209-30, on our 2013 GMC 3500 Sierra. .

2015 Ford Flex

I did not like the amount of flex the factory hitch allowed on my 2011 GMC 2500HD and went looking for an aftermarket hitch that would meet my needs. The Torklift SuperHitch Magnum fit the bill. The price was great, the shipping fast and I was so happy after our first trip pulling our travel trailer with it. No more flex, it just tows so nice. We also upgraded the shank to Torklift and the WDH to Reese Trunnion bar 15,000/1500lb which also helped. The hitch installed without issue, no modifications needed, no drilling needed. The hitch is heavy and during shipping some small parts fell out of box, these were promptly replaced after a quick phone call to Torklift and etrailer.com. Overall very pleased with both the product and sales.

  • Strong Trailer Hitch Recommendation For 2012 GMC Sierra 2500HD
The toughest trailer hitch you can buy for your 2012 Sierra 2500 is the TorkLift Class V Hitch which we sell in two different configurations - the # TLC1209-30 for 6.5 ft beds and the # TLC1208-30 for 8 ft beds. This hitch has a capacity of 2500 lbs TW / 20000 lbs GTW that can expand to 3000 lbs TW / 30000 lbs GTW with a compatible weight distribution system. • Weight Distribution System Recommendation for a Trailer with 1,800 lb Tongue Weight
1,800 lbs is quite a bit of tongue weight, but we do have a weight distribution system rated for that. We have the TorkLift Everest part # TLWD1000 that would work well for you. On your 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500 you would need to have the Torklift Superhitch part # TLC1209-30 installed though. You also will need the shank part # TLM9010 and the hitch ball part # C40085.
