Video Transcript for InfiniteRule Shocker Hitch Ball Mounts Locking Pins Review

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out these InfiniteRule locks for our shocker hitch adjustable ball mounts. So they're gonna slide right in where all your old pins were but now you can lock 'em up. Let's check it out. Here's an example of what you're replacing on your old shocker hitch which these do have the good handle and they're heavy duty to pull them out but there's nowhere to lock it. You just put a clip on the other side.

So there's nothing to keep anybody from just popping those out either taking the accessory or moving around on you. And the same thing with the regular shocker hitch. If you have the hitch pin, it doesn't come with that. You have to get one separately. So if you get the InfiniteRule lock set you're gonna get three locks.

And so you can lock the whole assembly to the hitch and the accessory in place. Let's check out how it works. So we got the key inserted into the lock. We'll rotate that and that's gonna loosen the lock from the pin. So as I turn the key, you can remove it and then that's how you remove the pin.

Now you're gonna go to replace it. Do that same thing in reverse, but one thing I wanna point out is looking at the end. So you look at the inside of the barrel here it's gonna be a square shape, matches this square shape. Make sure you match that up when you go to put it together so it sits in there so that it'll start grabbing when you go to tighten it down. Otherwise, if that's not matched up, you can just keep turning the key and it won't attach.

So you gotta make sure that's right with the square. It pushes in a little bit and then you turn it and you can see it's already moving in. The barrel here is moving towards, so that means it is gripping and tightening it down. Now when you go to tighten it down, don't try and tighten down too hard. You don't wanna break the key off, or you also can bring it back a quarter of return to remove the key. 'Cause if it's too tight, won't be able to pull the key out. So you might have to back it off just a little bit to remove it. And then you have a dust cap here. Just put it over the top so that way it keeps dirt, dust and debris outta the lock so it lasts longer. You're gonna get the hitch pin lock and the locks that go on the accessory. So as I'm loosening this one, I'm gonna show you that the one that goes in the hitch is actually a shorter length than the one that works in the accessory. So we'll do that, I'm gonna show you compared to these other ones this is the one that's gonna go on your hitch. That way there's not a whole bunch of slack back and forth when it's in there. You're gonna get three keys for these locks and they're all key to alike. So each one of these keys will unlock each lock so you can put one on your key chain, one in your trucking case and have another spare for whatever happens. I really like that. So you don't have to fumble around and figure out which key goes to which lock. Now the locks themselves are gonna be stainless steel so when you leave 'em here in the ball mount and if you leave on the back of your truck all the time you don't have to worry about the elements bothering them. Overall, I think these pins are gonna be great for your ball mount, especially if you're gonna make an investment for the shocker hitch. I wanna make sure that everything's locked up so nothing gonna be tampered with when I'm not around and they're high quality locks so I trust that they're gonna last. The fact that you have those turns, it tightens on here it's not as easy as a push button one that you would just put on the side. But I know as I tighten this down, it's going there. It's gonna be harder for somebody to try and pick that lock if they tried, and it's gonna stay in place and be secure. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. Hope this helped.

They fit the shocker xr hitch. They seem like they are strong and secure and will prevent theft. I took one star off because on one of the locks the o-ring to keep out dust dirt, etc was torn. I believe these are wear and tear items but this was a brand new lock.

  • Capacity of Shocker Hitch XRC Ball Mount With 2-5/16" Hitch Ball SHK94RR
Good catch; I checked directly with the manufacturer and verified the weight capacity is 20,000 lbs for the Shocker Hitch XRC Cushioned Ball Mount - 2-5/16" Ball - 7-1/2" Drop # SHK94RR. There was a previous rating of 12,000 lbs but the part changed and the 20,000 lb capacity is correct. So if you need up to that amount of capacity you can use the # SHK94RR, and I do recommend locking the ball mount as well as platform by using the InfiniteRule Locking Pins for Shocker Hitch Ball Mounts...

  • 2" Hitch Ball For Use On Shocker Hitch HD Air Ball Mount # SHK22VR For 7-1/2" Drop
Yes, we have the Drop Ball Attachment for Shocker Bumper Hitches with 2" Ball # SHK27ZR. This will work with the Shocker Hitch HD Air Ball Mount # SHK22VR you found giving you the 7-1/2" of drop you are needing. The Combo Ball # SHK89ZR included with the Shocker Hitch HD Air Cushioned 2-Ball Mount # SHK65VR will only have 3-1/2" of drop due to the different design of the ball mount itself. I recommend getting the InfiniteRule Locking Pins # IR39FR to secure the assembly to your truck. To...

  • Adjustable Ball Mount With Sway Control Tab That Accepts Locking Pin Rather Than Bolts
I do have some options for you as the Draw-Tite Ball Mount Adjustable with Sway-Control Tab # 7390 is required to use the supplied 1/2" bolts. The Shocker Hitch XR Adjustable Drop Hitch w/ Sway Control Tabs # SHK45VR is capable of using the InfiniteRule Locking Pins for Shocker Hitch Ball Mounts # IR39FR. The design of the Shocker Hitch is superior to the Draw-Tite so it is strong enough to be able to accept the locking pins.

  • Locking Hitch Pin Set For Adjustable Ball Mount Requiring 4-1/2" Inner Span on 2 Pins
It sounds like the InfiniteRule Locking Pins # IR39FR will be the best option for your adjustable ball mount. This kit includes two 4-5/8" inner span locking pins and one 3-1/8" inner span locking pin for securing the hitch to the receiver. These 3 locks are keyed alike and have a 5/8" diameter. For the Curt Ball Mount # C45902 you were looking at Curt offers their Lock Set # C23556 but the single long pin they offer is only 4-1/4" inner span.
