The included HotSpot mirror is designed to be placed anywhere on the Magna extendable towing mirror. Typically, a blind spot mirror is installed on the bottom outside corner of a side-view mirror.
To determine the best placement of the HotSpot mirror, start by using a piece of folded tape to stick the HotSpot to the towing mirror in the location you think you would like the HotSpot to be. Once you tape the HotSpot in place, sit in your truck and look through the HotSpot mirror. If the HotSpot is not in the best place for you, keep adjusting the location of the HotSpot until it suits your needs. Once the mirror is in the best location, remove the folded tape and use the adhesive backing on the HotSpot to permanently attach it to the towing mirror.

Hello neighbors, I'm Steven here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the CIPA Magna Custom Extendable Towing Mirror and its electric heated face and it's the driver's side. Now folks, this is a custom application. Make sure on our homepage, etrailer.com, you're checking out the fit guide or the vehicle application guide at the top center of our page. Enter the year, make, and model, cab style, that kind of stuff, whatever it asks you. Make sure you're getting the right parts for your specific vehicle.
Now, these do offer a nice rounded, extendable towing mirror feature and that will replace your factory side of your mirror on the driver's side of your vehicle. Now again, this is a factory install, simple, no drilling. It uses your factory wiring connector that you should already have, and if you already have the functions, it'll run electric and heat to this mirror. It's gonna have the same footprint, it's got the gasket, the hardware here that lines up to your factory mirror. Now, you cannot upgrade to a power mirror with heated face if your OEM mirror does not already have those functions.
So meaning this mirror may bolt up and fit inside of your doorframe or the frame of your truck just fine, but if you don't have those plugs and already have those features for your mirror, this is not gonna upgrade to that kind of stuff. Your truck has to be wired from the factory already to get those features. Now these are a telescoping mirror, so you can push 'em in whenever you're just driving normal or pull 'em back out whenever you're towing to get an additional four and a quarter inches of line of sight. Now as I mentioned, you can pull the mirror away, you can push it back. Now if you have a power option, those adjustments will let you change the face of the mirror position, and you can control them inside your truck with the factory module nectar controllers.
Now the heated mirror glass would melt away ice, frost, that kind of stuff. It's never gonna fog up on you. And you get this nice included wedge hotspot mirror that's just a double sided adhesive on the back. You simply wipe off where you wanna put it here with the rubbing alcohol and then stick it in place. Keep in mind the thicker side of this wedge hotspot, so it's a thin side and a thick spot.
The thicker side always goes towards the door. Now it can also fold away, so if you need to like fold it and get more space, you could do that. I'm not able to do it 'cause it's not attached to the vehicle. But if you had enough force holding this, you could fold this out of the way. Now I'm gonna throw up some dimensions here while I'm still talking about this. So you can see some dimensions. It does have a nice bipolar construction even as that picture shows you, you got both arms there. That helps dampen the vibrations and it's gonna provide you with a much sharper, clearer reflective image on the mirror face. The housing is a durable ABS plastic and it's gonna give you a nice impact resistant cushion, if you will, on the mirror itself. And as I said, it's a custom fig. You don't have to worry about drilling or installing. As far as the install, you don't have to worry about drilling or anything. As described and easy to install. Took me less than 30 minutes to install both mirrors. Shipping was great as well, lots of communication along the way and great follow up after delivery.
I wanted to compliment etrailer for their excellent service. The towing mirrors I purchased arrived in a timely manner and were well packaged. I was not ready to tackle removing my door panels to install them, so I had a shop do it at the same time other work was being done. They ran across a problem with one of the mirrors, apparently it was defective and would not adjust. I got a call from them about 10:00 Thursday to let me know of the problem, and I called etrailer a few minutes later. I regret not getting the name of the rep who assisted me, but I described what had happened and she immediately processed a replacement set. They arrived the following day! Totally did not expect overnight replacement!! I caved to social pressure and installed them with the help of a friend, and they went on perfectly and worked 100%. Free return label was included via e-mail for the defective one. I in no way hold e-trailer responsible for the defect but give them full credit for their service. I will buy again from them, they are on my favorites list!
Perfect fit and easy to install. The door panel had to be removed, but wasn't too big of a deal.
One of the studs on the mirror was shorter than factory. Other than that these look like factory mirrors, and all of the power mirror adjustment is just as good.
Great product. The mirrors were very easy to install, it took less than an hour to to take off the factory mirrors and put on the new ones. The mirrors look fantastic on the truck but better yet is the ability to see back to and beyond the trailer. I would highly recommend these mirrors.

I've had these extendable mirrors on my 2001 Yukon XL for 10 years. They make towing and backing our 34 foot travel trailer a breeze. Attaching with double sided tape the convex spotting mirror is a must though, so you can eliminate blind spots. The power and heat features still work just like on the stock OEM mirrors. The only problem is that I busted the drivers side mirror and unfortunately you can't buy just 1 mirror to replace it, you have to buy a pair of both the driver and passenger side mirrors.
Bought my mirrors after a couple of the larger more familiar places put the mirrors on back-order. And they then wanted to add shipping charges. Etrailer was easy to order from, got the mirrors faster than expected. Extremely easy ti install on my Ram pickup. They look very similar to the originals. Work great. Lost the puddle light and turn signals but I needed the the extra viewing more. Good product from a good online store.
The mirrors I ordered for my 2000 1500 suburban are fantastic they are power with heat! They were super simple to install all ya need is a 10 mm deep well socket just pop the top mirror cover off and pull the foam out and unplug and unbolt then install the new mirrors just that simple! They are everything that were advertised and wonderfully packaged and shipped! Will I order again from etrailer the answer is a resounding yes! These mirrors replace the small stock mirrors and are going to be great when we pull our 35 foot travel trailer!
I just put my new mirrors on the truck today and, aside from the right one appearing to sag slightly (seems to be a visual phenomenon based on which seat, driver or passenger), they look great! I was also expecting them to take about a week. They got here in THREE DAYS! Talk about service!
Excellent quality, they plug in and work perfectly. I have actually had two sets of these towing mirrors (2005 Dodge Durango and 2011 Chevy Suburban). The mirrors themselves are the same, just the mounting and electrical connections are different to fit the specific vehicle. Easy to install, easy to use and the power adjustment and heat are just like stock. You have to manually slide them out to extend, and they are far enough out to easily see behind 8' wide trailer. As stable as stock mirrors, no shake. Would definitely buy again.
These mirrors were easy to install and were exactly what I needed when pulling my 38 foot toyhauler. I appreciate the larger size of the mirror and the fact that they are heated. I am very happy with my purchase.
I bought these mirrors for my 2011 Ram 1500 so that I could tow a gooseneck horse trailer. We just returned from a 200 mile round trip to pick up some horses, and I can say that they are as good as advertised. Great visibility behind the trailer when fully extended, and very stable image on rough roads and on highways. Once I was convinced that I really did have to remove my door panels (the electrical connection for the mirrors is on a panel about exactly the length of the replacement mirror wiring) then installation was very simple. There is only one thing I need to remember every day, which is to fold in the driver's mirror before trying to fit through the garage door! Even retracted, these mirrors are wider than original equipment, but that just gives me better visibility even without the trailer. Great product, well worth the investment if you plan to tow regularly. I tried to attach several pictures but I think only one would load, so I hope it helps.
These mirrors were the easiest install,I installed them in a hour. I am very satisfied they do not shake very easy to pull out and set.i wish I had seen them awhile ago. I still have to pull my camper. Still I think they be perfect for my needs.
I would recommend these to anyone for hauling.i had a bad experience with flip up tow mirrors for a dodge they shorted out and shook bad when normal driving.
I needed to replace my drivers side mirror after a hit and run while my truck was parked in a parking lot. I was worried I would not be able to find a matching replacement mirror. I've used etrailer in the past and have always been satisfied. So I thought I would check for a replacement at etrailer. Sure enough etrailer had the exact mirror I needed. I installed on my truck today and once again I'm a happy camper thanks to etrailer.
