When you’re setting up for serious miles, you want a base plate that can take the load. This kit is built from all-steel components that are computer-cut for precision and strength. The black powder coat finish resists corrosion so the setup stays solid through countless towing miles and all types of weather.
The fixed-bar style gives you straightforward, reliable attachment points for your tow bar. The front arms secure with hitch pins and stay firmly in place, offering a consistent connection every time you hook up. It works with Roadmaster tow bars when used with the quick-disconnect crossbar (910021-00 – sold separately), so your towing setup locks together quickly and stays tight on the road.
Once the drawbars are removed, the remaining brackets sit within the grille, keeping them virtually invisible. There’s no bulky hardware hanging off the front end, which helps preserve a clean, factory look while protecting the brackets from everyday bumps and scuffs.
Everything you need to mount it comes in the box—installation hardware plus clear instructions. The design bolts directly to the vehicle frame using standard tools, making it approachable whether you’re doing it in your driveway or helping out in a shop. For complete installation, fishwires (C58400 – sold separately) are required to guide bolts through tight frame spaces efficiently.

It’s been great. I only use it to tow my huntn’ rig and never a problem. I’m 87 now and can load and unload by myself.

Install completed and many miles of care free towing behind our motorhome. Fixes suggested made for a simple install. Should be incorporated in future kits. I wont charge for the redesign. :+~ I spent my working life as a mechanical designer builder for a major industrial equipment company.

I spoke to my contact at Roadmaster and he said, as this kit is for vehicles 30 plus years old, it does not fit the new systems, verbiage, and formats that are currently used in installations. With this vehicle being an uncommonly flat towed vehicle as well, they are limited to the one vehicle that came into their shop, which was being the model to design the installation instructions. This can lead to little things not being detailed in the instructions.
