When you’re towing across states, you need gear that won’t flex or fatigue. This Blue Ox base plate is built from durable steel and bolts securely to the chassis using the included mounting hardware. The sturdy design spreads towing force evenly to help prevent stress on the suspension, so you can count on it for reliable performance over the long haul.
No one wants bulky towing brackets hanging off the front end. This setup uses hidden reinforcements so that only the small attachment tabs remain visible when you’re not flat towing. It keeps your vehicle’s front end looking tidy while still giving you solid connection points when it’s time to hook up.
You don’t need special fabrication or welding equipment for this one. The base plate bolts directly to the chassis and lines up with pre-existing structure points for a straightforward install. Everything locks down tight with the supplied hardware, giving you a solid, factory-grade fit that’s ready for the road.
If you’re already running a Blue Ox tow bar, it pairs directly with this base plate using sturdy lugs for a secure connection. It’s also adaptable for use with Roadmaster tow bars by adding adapter RM-031 or RM-031-5, or with Demco tow bars using adapter DM9523041 (each sold separately). That flexibility makes it easy to keep your existing towing gear in play.
Planning out your setup is simpler when you know exactly what you’re working with. This kit has a distance between brackets of 24" and a bracket height of 20". Every piece is built to hold steady through years of use and backed by a 3-year warranty for extra confidence on every trip.

Glad the install went smoothly, Grant! Even with those weird handle nuts (which I agree are kind of odd). What's the first trip you have planned? And I will let Alex know what you said as well! : )

it still looks nice and working as it should. i made it also double as a base to bolt up my winch. the bonus thing is when i need to tow it i can undo 4 bolts and take my winch off. i think you guys at e-trailer should consider making something like this as a option. i have pictures of it installed but how do i send them to you?

Thanks for your review, Richard! It sounds like this was a fairly involved installation, but we're glad to hear everything came together successfully in the end. We appreciate you sharing the details of your process, especially the tips about the tight frame rail clearance and drilling challenges, as those insights may help other RV owners tackling the same project. Thanks for including the photo as well. Your finished installation looks great! Now that it's installed and you're moving on to the diode kit and brake away switch, what adventure are you looking forward to most this summer in your RV?
