Features to know about

Confident Driving in Deep Snow: Twist Links Bite and Hold

When snow piles up on rural grades or back roads, these chains dig in and keep you moving. The rounded twist links form solid cross chains that give excellent traction in deep snow and reliable grip on icy surfaces. Their ladder pattern also helps you get steady starts and controlled stops instead of spinning or sliding around.

Smooth Ride on Rough Winter Roads: Rounded Links Reduce Jarring

Rough ice or uneven snow can make a ride feel harsh, but the rounded twist links help smooth things out. They don’t jar or bounce like square links, so the ride feels more controlled without giving up traction. That makes a real difference when you’re crawling up steep, snowy driveways or heading down icy grades.

Built to Last Through Harsh Conditions: Low-Carbon Steel Construction

These chains are made from strong low-carbon steel, giving them the durability to handle repeated winter use. The steel resists wear while keeping enough flexibility to handle deep snow and rough patches without cracking. You’ll get dependable performance every time you need them.

Simplified Setup That Stays Secure: Manual Design You Can Trust

With a straightforward manual design, these chains stay tight without any cams that could loosen when backing up or rolling over uneven terrain. You can fine-tune the fit with optional rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately) for a snug, secure wrap that won’t shift once you’re driving.

Ready for Wide Base and Dual Tires: One Axle Set Included

Each set includes chains for both the driver’s and passenger’s sides of one axle, wrapping securely around dual tires on each side. They fit 19-1/2" to 20" tires, feature 0.312" (7.9 mm) thick links, and are rated for up to 30 mph. A reusable canvas bag keeps everything organized and easy to store between trips.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Video Transcript for Feature Review Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains for Wide Base and Dual Tires

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline, and today, we'll be taking a look at our Titan Chain Twist Link Snow Tire Chains for your dual tires right here at etrailer. Now, your dual tires have limited options when it comes to getting that extra traction on the road, but even with the limited options, we definitely have options for your different situations. If you need a lot of traction on a lot of ice, you might be considering the tire chains that have the V-bars or the cleats. Now, if you're expecting a lot of snow or a lot of mud, that's where these twist links come in handy. So we'll talk about that as well as mentioning other options for your dual tires for your different situations. So these are heavy-duty chains in a ladder pattern, so for some of your other tire chains, you can get them as a diamond pattern, you don't really have that ability though for dual tires.

So that ladder pattern is gonna be your traditional type of tire chains, you are gonna hear a babump babump on the road, but you'll also be feeling that grip on the road in the snow and the ice. Now, these tire chains are made of a low carbon steel, which means that they're extra durable, extra sturdy. Some other tire chains use an alloy like a manganese nickel alloy, those are more focused on corrosion resistance and handling the salt and the ice, this can do that too, but again, its focus is durability for those rocks and for the ice, which means if you do wanna use this for multiple seasons, please just double check your chains before putting them on your tire to make sure they hadn't corroded or anything like that. You can also get a version of these twist link chains with cam, so it's gonna look pretty much the same, they're just gonna have extra cam tensioners. I personally recommend getting the cam version, because it's gonna be faster and easier to tension things down, but also, because you'll have the included cam tensioner tool, which will make it easier for you to install that middle connection.

Speaking of that middle connection, that's what makes these chains are designed for dual tires, different from those chains that are designed for single tires. You're gonna have to connect it in the front, in the back, as well as in the middle. That can be tricky, but I have a special trick for that. So what I do is I put the link that needs to be connected right over your cam tensioner and use this to feed it through your tires. So using the tool, just pull the chains through, and then you can connect the other hook.

Now, these tensioners are not included with your tire chain, these are gonna be an add-on accessory, that way you have constant tension all throughout. Even if your chains are shifting around, this is shifting with it. Your chains will arrive in a canvas bag like this, and since we do send your chains for your axle, you will get two of these canvas bags. Some other chains arrive in hard shell or soft shell cases, which I personally prefer, but this is still a great way to store it inside your truck for whenever you need it. So quick summary is if you are looking for a tire chain that has a smoother ride than square links of a similar design, or if you're expecting a lot of deep snow and mud, but you still want that heavy-duty traction that can handle off-road situations or rocks or ice, then this is gonna be a great option for you, this was the ladder style chain that is designed with these twist links for your dual tires..

Outstanding customer service and extremely fast shipping. I always come to etrailer.com for my Ford Super Duty F350.

The best!

by:

I received the tire chains I ordered on time. Just tried them on my vehicle and they fit exactly as predicted by the trailer web sit. Very satisfied. Now, I just hope I never need them.

by:

Product was bought for my ram 1500 4x4 I wanted a heavy duty set of chains for mud and snow and these chains did not disappoint very sturdy looking construction cant wait to try them out up on the mountain!

by:

The first trip I used them on, one of the chains snapped and shredded the inside of my fender as well as some damage to the outside. I was willing to give benefit of a doubt that it was a one time fluke. Called and tried to return and/or exchange. etrailer.com wanted me to pay for the shipping back even though it was within the 30days of purchase. The shipping would of cost me more than half of what I paid for them. Even after a couple of customer care calls and emails, etrailer.com still refused to pay the shipping to exchange them.

Chains fit my Mazda CX-9 with 245/50/20 tires. I could get them almost to the tightest setting but they don't seem loose. Haven't actually driven in snow yet but see no reason why they wouldn't work great. Bought them as backup as the car is AWD. Shipping was fast and etrailer has always been wonderful about customer service.

Thanks,
Randy

Good product, good price. Easy transaction and shipping was reasonably fast. The tire chains fit and work well, not much else to say.

by:

Just generally really good customer service, shipping and interactive options to manage your orders. I’ve ordered through this company several times and will continue to do so.
Thanks

The tire chains arrived fast. Easy to put on. Have used them multiple times up in the mountains...deep snow, ice, and muddy slick clay. Excellent traction. It is great to be the truck that isn't sliding all over and getting stuck.

by:

Chain’s arrived quickly and I did a fit up and just right size for my tires (285-70-17) with no extra links to worry about.

Tensioners I ordered were wrong size. No fault of etrailer.

I have ordered from etrailer and have had no issues with them.

by:

I can't do a one year review, because the tire chains broke with 5 minutes of the first install.
They are still laying in the same spot in the scrap metal pile.
Cheap steel, weak cross links, overall a poor excuse for a heavy duty application, would not recommend

by:

Have not used yet but chains appear to be of good quality.

by:

First time purchasing tire chains I must say this Titan product is pretty heavy duty I like the chrome finish I’m running a BFG all terrain 32x11.5 R15 the fit was perfect I would like to give a shout out to etrailer customer service team very professional & knowledgeable new exactly what chain was needed having provided lots of choices and option's that was important to me there shipping was very fast impressed caught me by surprise there communication was great keeping us informed the entire process they surely deserve this 5 star review thank you

by:

Delivery was quick and on the day promised. Haven't used the tire chains yet so cannot provide feedback on them.

by:

fit - not used yet

by:

Great customer service, I would highly recommend etrailer for your next purchase.
Quick turn around between ordering and to my door step
Keep up the great work.

by:

I bought these to go hunting in Colorado. I haven't used them extensively, but they did fit my 2021 GMC ATR nicely and for a novice they seemed very straight forward to install. I would recommend purchasing the chain tensioners. You may want to cut the extra links off so they don't hit the rim. I just attached one of the tensioners to mine and it seemed to secure it.

by:

Quality seems good, fit is perfect. We will see how they hold up to pulling the horses this fall.

by:

/Box came apart but that is what is expected on tire chains.-All good -Great service!

by:

Good chains for the price. Used them about 6 X with out a problem. Be sure to get the rubber tensioners as they help a lot. Just a note and I'm pretty sure the e-trailer review said something about it but they are only good up to about 15 MPH not that you need to go that much faster but on a several mile trek back to the cabin it would be nice to do 30 or so..... the fact that they do their job is reason enough for four stars. If they would just install themselves.... bwahahaha

by:

Chains seem to be made top quality. Only test fit them so far with perfect fit on a 35x12.5 r18 tire. Hopefully I dont have to use them but the security of having them and knowing the quality and fit is great is worth it.

by:

Chains looked good. After watching installation video it was a breeze to put on. They fit perfect. I’m only testing them right now so when I need to use them I’ll be more comfortable. I drove 1:2 mile down & back and the chains hadn’t moved.

by:

I bought them just in case I need them on a trip I’m going on. I tried one on my tire and it fit really good.

by:

I bought a pair of twist link (TC3235) for my front tires and V-Bars (TC3835) for my rear tires, so writing a combined review. The V-Bars have more traction but my front end doesn't have as much clearance so I opted for the twist links in the front.  I've now used these offroad 4 times, and once briefly onroad during a major ice storm that left all of our roads with skating rink type ice.
First - both chains fit 37" x 12.5 R18 tires perfectly.  This is despite the fitment not being listed on etrailer.com and the etrailer CS rep telling me they wouldn't fit.  The Titan catalogue / website does list 37x12.5R18.
Second - two pair of chains *just* fit in a milwaukee packout "Compact Tool Box" (model No: 48-22-8422).  There isn't a wasted inch of space.  After using them, I dry them in my garage, then douse them in WD-40 before putting them back in the packout.  These chains are made from an alloy that prioritizes strength over corrosion resistance, so surface rust appears pretty quickly on them.  Be warned that lifting all four chains together is heavy.
Third - They give amazing offroad traction.  The only way you're getting stuck is by getting high-centered.  You will not run out of traction if you have weight on your tires.  However, it is easy to get high centered when using these in the snow if you aren't careful.  Don't spin your tires, or your axles and frame rails will be holding the vehicle while your wheels hang in the air.
Fourth - I would only recommend using these onroad in very limited circumstances. During an ice storm I had to get a neighbor to the hospital. We live on an extremely steep hill and the roads had 1" of clear ice on them.  With the chains it was like the ice wasn't there.  But the whole truck vibrated a lot.  And it probably prematurely wore the chains.  If I drove faster than ~15-20 mph it really rattled the truck.  (offroad in the snow I'll drive 40+ mph no problem with these.  but driving on hard surfaces causes a lot of vibration).

by:

They worked great.

by:

The chains were used for an off road job to assist a 2WD truck with traction and performed perfectly. Very easy to install and remove. Customer service was very good as well.
