Features to know about

Tackling Deep Snow and Ice: Square Links Bite Hard for Reliable Grip

When the snow stacks deep or the road turns slick, these heavy-duty square links dig in to keep you moving forward. The ladder pattern helps with solid starts and controlled stops, giving you steady traction in mud, snow, or ice. Each 8 mm (0.314") link has the strength and shape to grab and hold, so you don’t spin when the surface gets rough.

Built for Harsh Winter Conditions: Nickel Manganese Alloy Steel Resists Corrosion

Winter driving is tough on gear, but these chains are made to last. The nickel manganese alloy steel construction resists corrosion and holds up through repeated use in wet, salty conditions. The oversized cross chains and sturdy side chains give you a heavy-duty setup built for demanding terrain and long-term reliability.

No Cams to Worry About: Simple Manual Tensioning for a Secure Fit

Instead of fiddling with cams that can loosen or pop free, this design keeps things simple. The chains install quickly and stay put without cam tensioners. For an even tighter fit, you can add rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately). It’s a setup that stays secure even when backing up or navigating uneven ground.

Step 1 of Titan Chain Alloy Tire Chains installation — chains laid out flat on the ground to remove tangles before use.

Step 2 of Titan Chain Alloy Tire Chains installation — chains draped over tire with prongs facing away from sidewalls.

Step 3 of Titan Chain Alloy Tire Chains installation — user connecting and tightening the chain behind the tire.

Titan Chain Alloy Tire Chains fully installed on a tire with a lever-style tensioner securing the fit.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Video Transcript for Ultimate Overview of the Titan Chain Alloy Tire Chains

What's up everybody, Adam here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Titan Chain Heavy Duty Snow Tire Chains. So, these chains are gonna be rated for on-road and off-road use. So, these aren't the most aggressive chains you can get, because you can get the v-bar chains, which literally just have spikes on the outside of them. You can also get the studded chains, which are also super aggressive, but on-road use with those, you're gonna kind of scuff up your driveway, if you have some pavement there. I don't suggest that.

I think these are pretty much the best value when it comes to chains. One, they're heavy duty, you can see it in the title. And what makes them extra heavy duty compared to the other ones, is this pretty little color you see right here. So, we do have a Manganese-Nickel alloy steel construction, but we do have zinc coating right here, which is gonna make it a lot stronger than some of the other chains on the site. I just like grabbing chains that look like this, 'cause I know that they've been treated, so, they're gonna last a very long time.

These are gonna give you a lot of traction. So, these are seven millimeter thick square links. So, the square links is really nice because it has these a little bit harder edges. So, it's gonna give us a lot of traction, but not too much to where we're gonna damage our driveway. Again, I think these are pretty much the best value when it comes to what you're really getting.

It's high quality stuff and the fit is extremely well. We don't have the cam tensioners, so we don't have to keep an eye on that tool that you have to use. This gets a really good tight fit out of the box. All we have is this little lever here, which is plenty big. So, even with gloves on, you'll be able to tighten it up really easily and link it onto this.

I'm just a fan of these. We will have to get some rubber tensioners whenever we're done, but those will be in front of our wheels, but those are rubber, so, we're not gonna affect that. But notice even if we have high snow, the only really section that's really gonna hit this specific wheel might be this, but I really doubt that we're gonna have enough snow to where it's gonna actually go in and scratch this up. All in all, all you need to do is look at your owner's manual, make sure you're putting on the right set of wheels. These aren't S-Class certified, so, make sure that your vehicle doesn't need to have S-Class certified chains. But the fact that these go on-road and off-road, I think is awesome, 'cause you can get stuck in both places. Especially with off-road, these could just be used to get you out of a muddy situation. So you can use them all year round. We just wanna make sure we don't exceed 30 miles an hour whenever we are driving with these on. And that just about does it for our look at the Titan Chain Heavy Duty Snow Tire Chains..

Fantastic item, I just bought the wrong one. Customer service for the return and repurchase was beyond great and above the normal corporate standard. Thank you!!

We purchased these chains after almost not making it home from Tahoe a couple of weeks ago due to broken cable chains. My husband said he wanted "manly" chains for his truck and this is exactly what he got! We plan to head up to the mountains in a couple of days and it should be no problem.
Thanks for making a great product, maybe we will be back for another set for our car!

The tire chains power me through the snow like a bulldozer. Even give me the grip to pull others back on the road.

by:

I got the chains that I ordered, they were exactly what I expected and they arrived when I expected. In this new walmart age of except whats available instead of what you want, that was very satisfying.

The thing that will bring me back was the level of unsolicited communication provided through this whole process. Thank you etrailer for your level of dedication to me and the product delivery.

Extremely happy with these tire chains. They exceeded my expectations in quality and workmanship. I received this order in less than one week. Thank you!

by:

bought the chains for my plowtruck, so obviously we have no snow right now
items arrived on time and got the items that I specified easy order process and good website with plenty of different style chains will update review once we have 2 feet of snow on the ground chains and chain adjusters

Big chunky chain, just like the product picture shows. I haven't actually driven on them yet, but they look well built. I felt I needed a big chain to deal with the added hitch weight of a 5th wheel trailer. I'm not a winter camper, but you never know when you might get caught in an early or late snowstorm in the mountains.

See what our Experts say about this Titan Chain Tire Chains

  • On and Off Road Tire Chains for LT295/65R20 Tires
I did some checking and for 295/65-20 tires you can use sizes 3231 or 3831. For the 3231 size I recommend # TC3231SHD which can be used for both on-road and off-road applications. For the 3831 size I recommend # TC3831 which also can be used for both on-road and off-road applications. There are a lot of tire sizes in between the compatible sizes listed for these tire chains that just don't show up. But resources have indicated that these 2 sizes will work with your tires.

The right size for your vehicle that they recommend is the Titan Heavy Duty Allow Snow Tire Chains, Item # TC2228SHD.
