Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Putco 48 inch long, direct fit Blade LED tailgate light bar. Now, this is a custom-fit part. It is designed to fit the 2019 and newer Ford Ranger trucks. And on a custom-fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show this will work for your application.

Now, this is a tailgate light bar, which will provide auxiliary stop, tail, turn and backup light functions. And it is designed to install in the gap at the bottom of your tailgate between the tailgate and the bumper. It does use LEDs, which will produce bright red, amber, or white light based on which signal is being used. Now, at the end of this video, I am gonna hook this up to some 12 volt power just to show you how the light bar works, how bright it is, but I first wanna go over some of the features of it. So, the light bar itself is a COB LED technology, that stands for chip on board technology.

This will create a nice, bright, solid panel of light. And it has LED chips, which are mounted close together, gives you a uniform, high-intensity light, similar to a lighting panel. It is a sealed lens and housing unit, which makes it waterproof. It is an IP69K rating to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning the methods. And it has a nice, tinted polycarbonate housing to provide a sleek look.

Now, this is a very simple installation. Comes with the included automotive grade 3M tape, the mounting clips, the connectors you need. And it also comes right here with the quick connect custom-fit wiring harness that'll plug into your existing light connections. And then on this end, the four-way will plug into the four-way on the light bar. So, there's no cutting or splicing of any wires.

Few specs on this, again, it's the applications for mid-size trucks. The dimension, overall length is 48 inches long. Width of it is only 5/8 of an inch wide, and about 3/8 of an inch tall. Now, when this goes into the backup light or reverse light mode, it is a cool white color, and it does give out over 3,000 lumens output. And I will show you that when we turn this on. So, what I'm gonna do now is we have this plugged into our four-way. I'll go ahead and turn on our power and there you can see the light bar comes on. Go ahead and turn off the overhead lights. And you can see that would give you the same lighting as your taillights on your back of your vehicle. So, then when you go to hit your brakes, if you notice when you hit your brakes, it'll get brighter just like your brake lights. So, the whole light bar lights up. And then if you go to make your turn signals, if you go ahead and hit your driver's turn signal, you can see there's a row of amber lights that are on, half of them will light up to let you know it's on your driver's side turn signal. And then if you go to your passenger's side turn signal and you apply that, you'll see that that half amber lights will light up to show you passenger's side turn signal. And then again, we mentioned the backup light, when you do the backup light, what you'll notice is the whole row turns to bright, cool white color. And as I mentioned, it gives out over 3,000 lumens, so you can see how bright it is. So, when somebody goes to backup, goes into reverse, this will come on. Pretty much anybody behind them will know that they're backing up. And we'll go ahead and turn back on the overhead lights. Turn off our power.
