When you’re towing serious weight, a strong wheel makes all the difference. The Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel handles up to 1,725 lbs, giving you a solid margin for heavy cargo or long-distance hauls. It meets DOT standards, so you can run it with confidence mile after mile.
Corrosion doesn’t stand a chance here. This steel wheel goes through a 2-step finishing process that includes an e-coat primer and a durable black powder coat. The result is a clean look that fights off rust and moisture, holding up well in tough weather or humid storage conditions.
Getting the right fit is straightforward thanks to the common 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern, standard 1/2"-20 wheel bolts, and a 3.19" pilot diameter. The zero offset keeps everything centered over the hub for balanced performance, and the lug-centric design means the wheel stays tight and true once mounted.
The modular spoke layout gives this wheel both a sturdy structure and a classic look that works well on any trailer setup. Steel construction provides rigidity under load and steady tracking on the road—ideal for anyone who values durability and dependable performance trip after trip.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Dexstar 13 inch by four and a half inch black modular steel trailer wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this wheel's a sturdy steel construction, it is a modular design. When we say modular design, that's the one that has the round holes all the way around the wheel. This wheel gives you excellent corrosion resistance because they use a two step finishing process, which will first include an eco primer and then a black powder coat finish over it. It is a high quality wheel, does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications.
If you notice, it does not include a center cap. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. You do wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll have the same diameter as this pilot hole right here because when you put your center cap in, it'll go through this hole. The diameter on the pilot hole is 3.19 inches. Now this wheel is made by Dexstar, which means it is made in the USA.
I do wanna measure a few dimensions for you, the diameter and the width. And when you measure the diameter, what you're gonna be measuring is actually inside to inside, and the reason you're doing that is 'cause when your tire is put on here, the tire beads are gonna seat right here, so you're actually measuring bead seat to bead seat, inside to inside. So just to show you, if we go inside to inside, there's your 13 inch diameter. The width will be the same way inside to inside or bead seat to bead seat. Four and a half inches wide.
Now, the bolt pattern on this wheel is a five on four and a half inch bolt pattern, and if you wanna measure that on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs, like in this case, five, what you'll do is pick any hole, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes, but when you measure it from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you go to. On this, it'll measure four and a half inches, so that means it's a five lug, four and a half inch bolt pattern. It does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 1,725 pounds. But that's gonna do it for our look at the Dexstar 13 inch by four and a half inch black modular steel trailer wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern.

Once I finally got the tire to inflate, it has been fine. Since it is the spare for my trailer it has not actually been on the ground, but it has not lost any pressure.
