1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we can take a look at the Dexstar 12" x 4" Black Modular Steel Trailer Wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern. Now, this wheel's a sturdy steel construction. It is a modular design. When we say modular design, that's the one that'll have the round holes all the way around the wheel.
This does have a black powder coat finish over an e-coat primer, which will give it excellent corrosion resistant. This wheel is a high-quality wheel. It does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications, and it is made in the USA. A few dimensions on this, we mentioned the diameter is 12 inches, and that's always measured inside to inside. So if I get a tape measure and we go inside to inside, you can see there's your 12 inch diameter.
The width will be the same way. It's inside to inside, or bead seat to bead seat, four inches wide. Now, the bolt pattern on this wheel it is a 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern. And if you want to measure the bolt pattern on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs, like in this case, five, what you'll wanna do is pick any hole, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure from this hole across to either one of these holes. But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whatever hole you measure to.
So on this, it'll measure 4 1/2 inches. So it's a five lug, 4 1/2" bolt pattern. It does use a wheel lug size of 1/2 inch by 20. Pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole here in the center of the wheel that goes over the hub on your trailer, 3.19 inches. And the weight capacity on this wheel is 1,250 pounds.

Dont know if i mistakenly thought the rims cane with valve stems or not. I do suggest you add the little pop up thats like do you want valve stems with your rims even if its more money. Not upset about the rims more bummed i now have to go find valve stems.

I did have to change my order when I found out the tire I wanted didn’t come with the rim I wanted and I had to but them separate.
