Heavy-duty strap lets you securely tie down large equipment in your truck or trailer. The molded rubber ratchet handle offers a comfortable grip. And Velcro strap wrapper helps prevent any unused strap from flapping in the wind. 10,000 lbs Max load.
Features:
Specs:
Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Erickson ratchet tie-down strap with the included strap wrapper and the double J-hook design. Now this is a very strong, heavy duty tie-down strap that lets you secure large cargo in your truck bed or trailer. The Velcro strap wrapper hold excess strap in place. That way, you don't have to tie off excess and that's gonna prevent the unused strap form tangling or flapping in the wind as you go down the road. The ratcheting mechanism is this large area right here. Makes it very easy to tighten down the strap, maintains tension on the strap.
It's got the nice, wide handle. The reason why I like that is if you're wearing gloves, it makes it very easy to gain access, to get your hand in there, and to easily ratchet the strap down to get the proper tension you need for hauling your load safely. Again, it's got indentions, easy to grip design. Release lever right there is easily accessible as you hold onto the large handle. Now these hooks are a steel construction.
They're vinyl coated and it's a double J-hook design. So that's gonna help prevent scratches to your cargo and it provides a very strong, secure connection point. The ratchet mechanism is a steel construction with protective finishing on it so you don't have to worry about rust or corrosion. Then the yellow strap is made from a durable polyester webbing. Now the strap itself measures 2 inches wide by 27 feet long. The unit features a safe working load limit of 3300 pounds with a maximum load or break strength of 10,000 pounds.
Just keep in mind that tie down straps must me chosen according to their safe working load limit. The weight of the secure cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps being used. I'm gonna go ahead and show you how to set the unit up for use, so basically what you want to do is you want to find the bare end of the strap. You want to take it through this side of the mechanism and let's make a U-turn with that strap and bring it right back out over the top of that center spindle area just like that. Now you can go ahead and pull the slack out once you have your anchors in place. Release lever right here disengages it from the gear or from the teeth.
Then that allows you to start ratcheting down to apply the tension you need. Once you have it all the way tightened, you pull that lever, move it down into a locked position. When you're ready to release the tension, just open the unit all the way up. That's gonna allow you to release the tension. You can remove the strap completely. Then you can undo or unload your gear from your trailer or truck bed. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Erickson ratchet tie-down strap with the strap wrapper and the double J-hook design.

Great strap for tow dollies. I ordered 2 of them and removed the lower portion of the strap and bolted in place. they would probably be great for hauling also. i have a few straps like them for the trailer. the ratcheting mechanism looks good and solid. and they handle tightening the straps very well.
Amazed by the prompt order confirmation, shipping info and speed. You can tell right away the quality difference between this tie down and those you can find at your local HFT or WM, sturdy constructions and mechanism, would buy again anytime!!
These straps do what they are supposed to. They keep my Rhino right where I want it on the trailer. I trimmed them and only use them for a specific task and it makes them much easier to install/remove. I recently pulled my trailer to Colorado and back with absolutely no scary moments. Once in a great while one or other strap would need a click or two but I can depend on these straps do keep it on the trailer.
Strong straps at a reasonable price.
Good product.
Very well made. Wrapper is a plus.
Have not used it yet. But it looks well made.
Product is great and made of great qual ity.
good product
These straps are of high quality--great value for the money.
Shipped quickly and received. They look very nice and should do the job. Wont be using till next week but I am completely satisfied. Very affordable.
These straps work as advertised. The hooks are heavy and coated with thick plastic. I would buy them again.
Thr straps were shipped with other items and we received them in good condition, this was one thing that UPS just could not beat the hell out of.
Used these straps on my race car before. Great strap. Much better then having loose strap laying on floor. A 6' would be ideal ( for my car),but create limitations. So, having ample strap for other purposes is also nice.
RUGGED! That is what I wanted. The web site was great as it provides a filter on the left side of the page enabling you to narrow down what you are after. Saves a bunch of time. Delivery and tracking was great too!
I did not rate the straps because they were overkill for my small utility trailer and I never use them. My bad. So I had to then purchase 1 inch wide 27 inch (if my memory is correct) long straps from US Cargo Control.
What I am looking for now: D rings that I can insert in the grommet holes in my tarps so that I can snake a long elastic band through these rings, and quickly protect the furniture in my trailer from rain. I am trying to mimic what the big 18 wheelers do with tarps. Their tarps are equipped with D rings for this purpose (round rings would do of course). My tarps are the ordinary tarps from a big box store. What does not work is to string the elastic through the holes in the tarp. too much friction.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
We needed a couple very strong straps and these will do the trick. The ratchet handle is great and really makes the operation easier.
Most heavy duty strap I have seen at this price. Rubber on the double hooks help decrease movement on the trailer rails.
good solid strong strap
use it to hold boat to trailer while towing
Strong, sturdy, priced right and perfect for towing classic vehicles in my enclosed car hauler. Terrific service and shipping updates. Thank you!
Received these straps yesterday and used them today to secure a Buick Rainier to my flatbed trailer and then a Honda Pilot. Super high quality through and through. Also, etrailer is awesome. Very quick delivery.
Great quality. always happy w erickson products. etrailer customer service is out standing!
These are great straps. They are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The yellow coating (zinc maybe?) on the ratchet portion keeps these from developing rust and these run for a long time without binding, even though I leave them exposed to the elements in the bed of my truck. The strap material itself is somewhat stiffer than most other nylon strap materials, which can be slightly harder to throw when strapping a tall load, but these are also likely much stronger even though they are rated the same as other straps. I recommend them.
My order came quickly and you could see right away they were heavy duty and well made. I hauled an antique tractor 140 miles without having to worry about it staying right where I strapped it. Very nice straps and easy to use.

To help you find rings that would work for you I would first need to know what size grommet holes you have on your tarps. I have attached a link of all the d-rings and tie down rings etrailer.com carries.
