Features to know about

Built for Real Hauling Miles: Load Range G with 75-mph Speed Rating

When the job or trip calls for serious miles under load, this tire and wheel combo is ready. The Triangle ST235/80R16 heavy-duty radial has a 14-ply rating and handles up to 4,080 lbs at 110 psi. It’s speed rated L (75 mph) and meets DOT specifications, so it can run long and steady without worry. The radial design keeps rolling resistance low and heat buildup in check for improved tread life and confident highway performance.

Strength That Lasts: All-Steel Belts and Durable Construction

This setup combines the strength of a bias tire with the stability of a radial. Inside, all-steel belts reinforce the tread for durability and even wear, helping the tire stay solid through heavy use. The robust build delivers dependable traction on wet or dry pavement, making it a tough match for demanding towing conditions.

Rust Resistance That Holds Up: Black Powder-Coated Steel Wheel

Corrosion doesn’t stand a chance here. The 16" x 6" steel modular wheel uses a black powder coat over an e-coat primer to seal out moisture and road grime. That finish keeps the wheel looking sharp season after season while protecting the metal underneath from rust.

Ready to Mount and Go: Balanced Tire-and-Wheel Assembly

No extra steps needed before you hit the road. This tire comes already mounted on the wheel, so setup is straightforward. With an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern, 0 offset, and 4.90" pilot diameter, it’s built for easy alignment and reliable fitment that saves time when swapping or upgrading your setup.

Peace of Mind When It Counts: 1-Year Worry-Free Guarantee

Every tire in this assembly carries a one-year worry-free guarantee—if it’s damaged within the first 12 months, it’s replaced at no charge. It’s a simple promise that backs up the build quality with real assurance on the road.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Video Transcript for Review of the Triangle ST235/80R16 Heavy-Duty Radial Tire w/ 16" Black Mod Wheel

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this triangle ST235/80R16 Load Range G Heavy Duty Radial Trailer Tire with this 16-inch Dexstar black steel mod wheel with an eight on six and a half-inch bolt pattern. Now this tire and wheel assembly is going to be great for your stock trailers, utility trailers, and campers. This special trailer tire or ST tire has sturdy sidewalls so that it can handle heavy loads. This is created specifically for trailers and not intended for use on other vehicles.

This heavy-duty radial tire is gonna be great for highway use and it is constructed with all steel belts that will enhance the durability and extend the tread life of this tire. The computer-generated tread design and premium rubber compound materials are gonna give you superior traction in wet or dry conditions. Now as I stated at the beginning of our time together and as we have stamped here on our tire, this is an ST235/80R16. The section width is 9.25 inches and the outer diameter is 30 7/8 inches. This is a load range G, meaning it has a 14-ply rating.

The maximum load is 4,080 pounds at 110 PSI. And this has a speed rating of L, indicating the maximum speed of 75 miles per hour. Now this sturdy Dexstar wheel is a steel wheel and it does feature this modular design as you can see here. And the black powder coat finish over E-coat primer is gonna be rust-resistant. This wheel does use beveled stud holes, which are gonna help keep your wheel securely in place on your trailer hub.

That's gonna eliminate the need for the constant re-tightening of the lug nuts. And the dimensions of our rim, taking a look at the diameter first, measuring bead seat to bead seat, it's 16 inches in diameter and the width of that wheel is six inches. And this has a bolt pattern of eight on six and a half inches. And in case you don't know, the first number of that bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes, and then the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes as we have here, you're simply going to measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the bolt hole directly across from it.

The wheel capacity is 4,400 pounds. The wheel stud size is a half an inch by 20 or 9/16 of an inch by 18. The center cap is sold separately, but if you decide to pick one up, you just wanna make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 4.9 inches. Now, this tire and wheel assembly does meet the Department of Transportation specifications, and this tire does have a one-year worry-free guarantee. So if within the first 12 months this tire is damaged in any way, it will be replaced by Triangle at no charge to you. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our brief time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

I am disappointed that the Tire date code is already one year old ( july 2025) stamped on the tires. Everybody knows these things have a very limited lifespan.

It's not uncommon for tires to arrive at our location that were manufactured a year or maybe more before we received them. These tires are manufactured overseas. After they are manufactured, they can sit in a warehouse for months until they're packed in a shipping container and ultimately loaded on a container ship and shipped to the US. The trip here and entry through US Customs can take several months, depending on how quickly they can get off-loaded and through Customs. The tires then sit in a warehouse in the US until we order and receive them. Tires that are stored in a warehouse under controlled conditions don't age or dry rot like tires that are exposed to the elements and UV radiation do. The fact that your tires were older than a year when you received them will not have any effect on their lifespan or durability. They should be good for up to 4-6 years, assuming they're not stored in direct sunlight, not overloaded, kept properly inflated and their speed rating isn't being exceeded. The product warranty begins at the date of purchase, not the date of manufacture. I hope that helps relieve your doubt about your new tires.
