This tire-and-wheel assembly is made for serious hauling. The Provider 215/75R17.5 radial tire has a 16-ply rating and carries up to 4,805 lbs at 123 psi with a speed rating J (62 mph). The matching steel wheel is rated for 5,956 lbs, giving solid margin for highway use. With double steel belts, double polyester cords, and nylon overlays that help prevent tread separation, it’s designed to stay cool and dependable mile after mile.
Moisture, salt, and road grime don’t stand a chance against the wheel’s finishing process. It starts with a zinc phosphate bath for paint adhesion, followed by an e-coat acrylic primer base, and finishes with baked-on white DuPont powder coat on both sides. That layered protection keeps the modular steel wheel looking clean while guarding against rust long term.
The radial design keeps rolling resistance low and heat buildup in check when towing at highway speeds. Nylon tread-firming belt overlays help maintain even contact with the pavement and reduce wear. Plus, the tread is regroovable (where allowed by law) for added mileage, and visible tread depth bars make it easy to spot when it’s time for replacement.
The 17-1/2" x 6-3/4" hub-piloted wheel centers on the hub itself for a precise connection. It uses an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern, +0.08" offset, and a 4.76" pilot diameter. Flange nuts (sold separately) are required for mounting. Every assembly meets DOT specifications and exceeds Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for reliable on-road performance.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Today I'm gonna take a look at this Taskmaster Provider 215/75R17.5 radial tire in a load range H on this 17.5 inch white modular wheel with an offset, and an eight on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire wheel assembly's ideal for heavy duty trucks and trailers. The wheel is a heavy-duty steel wheel. It is the modular design.
When we say modular design, that's the one that has the round holes all the way around the wheel. It is sturdy and corrosion-resistant. The wheel does go through a three-step finishing process, which will include, first, the zinc phosphate bath, then an e-coat primer, and then a nice white powder coat on both sides of the wheel. Now, this wheel is a hub piloted wheel, which means it'll center on this hub so that it will require a close fit of the center pilot hole on the wheel to the hub. The pilot hole diameter is 4.76 inches.
And hub pilot wheels do require the use of flange nuts for installation. Now, those we do sell separately on our website. They do use a flange nuts size of 5/8 inch by 18, and they're usually listed on this product page as a related product. Now, this wheel does have a positive offset of 0.08 inches. And a positives offset is when the hub mounting surface, so this is your mounting surface, will go up against your hub.
So basically, when it is in front, here's the wheel center line. Right down the middle is the center line of the wheel. So when it's a positive offset, that means it's in front of that wheel center line, so a positive offset will move the tire towards the center line of the trailer. Now, the tire on this is a radial tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for a nice long life.
It's great for highway use. They do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation, and the tire itself is bake tested to ensure that the rubber holds up over time. It is created specifically for heavy duty trucks and trailers, not intended for use on other vehicles. And this assembly does meet the DOT which is Department of Transportation, specifications, and it will exceed Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Zoom in again. We'll talk about the wheel. The measurement on the wheel, the diameter on the wheel is 17 1/2 inches. The width on just the wheel itself is 6 3/4 inches. The bolt pattern on this wheel is an eight on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. And if you want to measure that on a wheel, that's an even number of lugs, in this case, eight holes. You just pick any hole, because the holes are directly across from each other, so when you go to measure it, pick any hole, measure from the center of that hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it. So on this wheel, it'll measure 6 1/2 inches, so it's an eight on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. The weight capacity on just the wheel is 6,005 pounds. Now the tire size, which is stamped on the sidewall, right here, you can see 215/75R17.5 The R stands for a radial tire. Now the section width, which is gonna be the overall width of the tire, is 8.3 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 30.2 inches. This tire is a load range H, which means it's a 16 ply tire. Maximum load on it is 4,805 pounds at 123 psi. And the last thing I do wanna mention is most all your new tires are gonna have a speed rating on 'em. And they stamp it on the side wall with a letter designation. And where you find that is right after the tire size we went over, you'll see two numbers for the load index, and then they stamp a letter M. Speed rating M will mean this tire has an 81 mile per hour speed rating. Tires showed up around 5:30pm on the 3rd day, I was happy for that. I Installed the tires right away. Took my truck and trailer down the road and was really happy with them. I have a 25ft gooseneck trailer, the tires look really good. I will see how they do when the trailer is loaded with a 13,000lbs track skid loader.

I love my new wheels and tires that I ordered from etrailer. I bought these to replace the 15" tires/wheels on my deck over trailer after having trouble finding 15" tires that could withstand modern highway speeds. I was not sure there was room for them, but they did fit and I've been very pleased with them.

The tire is even better than the ones that came with the trailer. I also got the mounting bracket/carrier. The bolts that came with the bracket were way to long so I went and got some shorter grade 5 bolts and ta da looks good, works great.

I'm giving 2 stars because I ordered this tire and rim combo and when it arrived the tire was the correct brand but the rim was incorrect. The rim was supposed to be an ARC brand and powder coated. The rim that arrived was made by Maxion and it was acrylic enamel. etrailer took the tire and rim combo back after I explained the issue. Fast forward a few months I was shopping for the rim and tire combo shown above and it showed instock. I ordered it and when it arrived the same thing happened. What I received was not what was pictured. Again I was ordering the ARC rim and Provider tire and I received the Maxion rim and Provider tire. So I called again and it sounds like the person that received the return just put the tire and rim combo back on the shelf even though I explained in detail to the person on the phone it was mislabeled. I know etrailer has had the ARC rim and Provider tire combo because I've ordered one from them before. I give the customer service kudos for trying to help me but its too bad there was a communication break down between the person answering the phone and the person accepting the returns. The tire and rim pictured is correct to what I was trying to order. What I was trying to order was even in their video describing the product. The ARC rims has a little round gold sticker with the letters ARC.
Purchased this tire/wheel combo as a spare for my utility trailer. I was amazed at the speed of delivery and the perfect match to the wheels I currently have on the trailer.
