Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance
This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.
Durable Acrylic Enamel Finish
The wheel on this assembly has a durable acrylic enamel finish on the front. The finish is applied after the wheel goes through an environmentally safe zinc phosphate pre-treatment and is coated with an e-coat primer layer. Compared to powder coat finishes, this finish resists getting chipped from flying road debris or scraped from hitting a curb for a longer period of time. These acrylic enamel wheels performed for more than 1,000 hours in salt spray tests.
The stud holes on this steel wheel are beveled to ensure that the wheel stays tight against your trailer hub. This also eliminates the need to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.
Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.
In an ideal world, tire-and-wheel assemblies would be perfectly round and even throughout. Unfortunately tires and wheels have imperfections that often cause vibrations, resulting in a rough ride and wear and tear on the assemblies, as well as on the rest of your trailer's running gear. Taskmaster helps to solve this problem by match mounting and balancing their assemblies so they're ready to roll when they reach your door.
To do this, Taskmaster uses a laser-guided machine to locate the heavy and light spots of each assembly. They then align the assembly so that lightest part of the tire is near the heaviest part of the wheel. The assembly is then rotated at high speeds to pinpoint the optimal place to apply weights to further balance the tire.
Don't delay your adventures by having to take your trailer to the shop for new tires. Start rolling as soon as possible with easy-to-install, fully balanced tire-and-wheel assemblies from Taskmaster.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Taskmaster Provider ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a load range D and it's mounted on this 15 inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with the five on five inch bolt pattern. Now this tire wheel assemblies ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. Now the new feature on this assembly, what's nice is this tire is match mounted and then balanced to the wheel for ride comfort and durability and match mounting of tires and wheels, basically it's a process in which the tire's installation position on the wheel itself is specifically selected to minimize the final force of imbalance which is basically the amount of weight used to balance it. The method to match mounting is they align the tire's lightest spot with the wheel's heaviest spot and that's to eliminate most of the radial force that can cause the tire and suspension wear. Then when they do the final balancing, it's done by applying weight to specific spots on the front and the back of the wheel to eliminate any chance of uneven wear vibration.
Just to show, you can see here's where they put the weight on the front and if we spin it around you'll be able to see where they put the weight on the back so it gives you a balanced tire wheel. Now on the wheel itself, they do use a silver acrylic enamel finish. This will help resist chipping and other damage better than your powder coat finishes. The finish is applied after a zinc phosphate pretreatment and then it covers an E-coat primer layer. Does give the excellent corrosion resistance.
Has a salt spray rating more than a thousand hours and they do use beveled stud holes on here where your lug nuts go to help keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub. Eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. Now if you notice, this wheel does not come with a center cap. If you do wanna purchase them, we do sell them separately. You do wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll have a diameter of 3.31 inches.
That's the diameter of the pilot hole right here and that's where your center cap will go through when you install it. Now the tire on this is a radial tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for nice long life. It's great for highway use and they do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay around the tire to help prevent tread separation. The tire is stamped as an ST tire which means special trailer tire, has the sturdy side wall so they can handle heavy loads.
It's created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on any other vehicles. Now this does also offer a two year platinum plus warranty which does include emergency tire change service and other benefits. And this assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications and it will exceed federal motor vehicle safety standards. Just to go through a few specs on the wheel first. Diameter on the wheel is 15 inches, width on just the wheel by itself six inches wide, bolt pattern we mentioned is five on five inches. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel that's a odd number of lugs like this one is five lugs. What you'll do is just pick any hole like this one but then you'll measure across from this hole to either one of these holes. But when you measure it, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measure to. On this one, that measurement will be five inches. So it's a five lug five inch bolt pattern. The wheel lug size used on this is a half inch by 20 and the weight capacity on just the wheel is 2,830 pounds. Tire size will be stamped on the side wall, ST for special trailer 225/75R15. R lets you know that it is a radial tire. Section width, 8.8 inches and the overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 28.3. This tire is a load range D which means it's an eight ply rated tire. Has a maximum load capacity of 2,540 pounds at 65 psi. And one of the last things I do wanna mention is they now come with a speed rating on the trailer tires and that's stamped on the sidewall by a letter designation. And where you'll find that is right after the size of the tire we went over, you'll see two numbers for the load index and then the letter M. Speed rating M will mean this has an 81 mile per hour speed rating. But that's gonna do it for the review on this Taskmaster Provider ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a load range D mounted on this 15 inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with the five on five inch bolt pattern.
