This setup is built for highway runs and long-distance towing. The Provider ST225/75R15 radial tire carries a Load Range D (8-ply rating) with a 2,540-lb maximum load at 65 psi, and it’s rated for speeds up to 81 mph (speed rating M). No need to schedule mounting or balancing—the tire and 15" white Vesper spoke wheel come precisely match mounted and balanced from the factory. Taskmaster uses a laser-guided process to align light and heavy spots, then applies weights for an even rotation. The result is reduced vibration, less wear on your running gear, and a smoother ride right out of the box.
Corrosion is no match for this wheel’s 3-step finish. It starts with a zinc phosphate bath for paint adhesion, followed by an acrylic e-coat primer, then a baked-on DuPont white powder coat on the outboard side. The inboard side gets a light e-coat that reduces friction between the wheel and hub while preventing flaking. It’s a clean look that stays protected season after season.
The Provider radial tread uses ribs with breaks and fine sipes that channel water away from the contact patch. That design improves traction in wet, snowy, or icy conditions while maintaining highway stability. Inside, double steel belts, double polyester cords, and nylon overlays strengthen the carcass to prevent tread separation and extend life—performance proven through bake testing used on automotive tires.
The wheel’s beveled, uncoated stud holes and raised center disc use Improved Torque Retention (ITR) technology to keep clamp force consistent over time. This design helps the assembly stay tight against the hub under load without constant retightening, giving peace of mind on every trip.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Today, we're gonna take a look at the Taskmaster Provider ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range D, and it's on this 15 inch Vesper white spoke steel trailer wheel with the five on five inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire and wheel assembly is ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and campers. Now, what's nice on this assembly, the tire is match mounted and balanced to the wheel for ride comfort and durability. When we say match mounted, match mounting of tires and wheels, that's a process in which the tire's installation position on the wheel is specifically selected to help minimize the final force of imbalance. So the method to match mounting is they align the tire's lightest spot with the wheel's heaviest spot, and that's to eliminate most of the radial force that can cause tire and suspension wear.
Then what they do is the final balancing, and that's done by applying weights to specific spots. On the front, you can see the weights right here. And if we spin it around, on the back also. This is to eliminate any chance of uneven wear or vibration. Now, the wheel itself you can see is a steel wheel.
It is a spoke design, it is sturdy and corrosion resistant. They do use a white acrylic enamel finish to resist chipping and other damage, which works better than the powder coat finishes. And the finish is applied after a zinc phosphate pretreatment, and then it covers an e-coat primer layer. This does give you excellent corrosion resistance with a salt spray rating of more than 1,000 hours. Now, a few measurements on the wheel.
The wheel itself is a 15 inch diameter. The width on just the wheel is six inches wide. And the bolt pattern on this wheel is a five on five inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel like this that's an odd number of lugs, what you need to do is pick any hole. Let's say if you pick this hole right here, you'll measure it to either this hole or to this hole, either one.
But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measure to. So on this one, it'll measure five inches, so that tells you it's a five on five inch bolt pattern. This does use a wheel lug size of 1/2 inch by 20, and the weight capacity on just the wheel is 2,835 pounds. Now, you might notice that there is no center cap in this wheel. If you do want one, we do sell those separately on our website. You do wanna make sure to get one that'll have the same diameter of the pilot hole right here, 'cause your cap will go through this hole when you install it. Diameter on this one is 3.31 inches. They do use the beveled stud holes to help keep your wheel securely in place on your trailer hub, eliminates the need for concentrate re-tightening of your lug nuts. Now, the tire that's mounted on this is a radial tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for a nice, long life. It's great for highway use. And they do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation. It is a ST tire, which means special trailer tire, has the sturdy sidewall, so they can handle heavy loads. It is created specifically for trailers, it's not intended for use on other vehicles. The tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, ST for special trailer, 225/75R15. The R means that it is a radial. Section width on this, 8.8 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 28.3. This is a Load Range D, which means it's an eight-ply rated tire, so it has a maximum load capacity of 2,540 pounds at 65 psi. One other thing I do wanna mention is all the new trailer tires have a speed rating on them, and they labeled it on the sidewall with a letter designation. And where that usually is is right after the tire size, you'll see two numbers for the load index, and then there's a letter M that's stamped on there. That'll mean 81 mile per hour speed rating. Now, they do offer a two-year platinum plus warranty, includes emergency tire change service and other benefits. And this assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications, and will exceed the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. But that should do it for the review on this Taskmaster Provider ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range D on this 15 inch Vesper white spoke steel trailer wheel.

I haven't used the new tires and wheels as of yet. They were ordered to replace a15 year old set on a small Travel Trailer that I have been restoring. I bought the Providers for two reasons, the 81mph rating as I tow outside of California quite a bit and most trailer tires don't like 65-70mph speeds. I also liked the more street friendly tread as I live in the mountains and braking on wet or snowy roads is critical. Tires and wheels arrived very quickly and packaged well. I have heard some folks complain about issues removing the stickers (a heat gun or blow dryer makes removal very easy). My only issue was one tire had a couple of gouges in it that appeared to be from when the tire was mounted. A call to etrailer and an e-mailed picture and they had a replacement headed my way. They also provided a UPS return shipping label at no cost. As has been my experience in the past with these folks, etrailer goes above and beyond to provide some of the best customer service I have ever experienced (having owned my own business for 40+ years I have had many occasions to deal with various companies customer service departments). Good products shipped in a timely manner at a fair price with exceptional customer service, what more can a person ask for!

I was preparing my trailer for a road trip in a few days and on a Saturday placed an order for two of these tires on modular wheels, along with new hub assemblies, because the website indicated that this item should arrive on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I failed to notice that the delivery date only pertained to the first tire and wheel. The following day I received notice that my order would ship in about 7 days which was unacceptable for my trip timeline. I called etrailer.com Monday morning to cancel my original order and place another, but this time with tires on wagon wheels, which were confirmed to be on hand. The phone representative was amazingly friendly and cooperative in handling my situation. My new order, which also included hubs and tie-down rings, shipped that day and arrived the following day! It was only after installing the new hubs and wheel assemblies that evening that I noticed I had received one "C" and one "D" load rated tire. I called again to see if I could return the pair of mismatched tire and wheel assemblies for something similar that was available for immediate shipment and was advised that I could but would be responsible for the shipping cost ($38.99) of the one assembly that was properly fulfilled by my order. I initially agreed to those terms and placed a third order for slightly lower grade tires that would arrive in time for my trip but soon afterwards changed my mind and called back to cancel that order and arrange for a replacement of the one incorrect tire and wheel assembly. Each time I called, the etrailer representative was very courteous and eager to help resolve my problem. The replacement tire and wheel arrived a couple of days too late for my trip but I am completely satisfied with the quality and appearance of these items, having since completed a 500+ mile trip with them and experienced no problems.

Very good wheel and tire combo for trailers. I have a very old 16-foot double axle trailer, and one of the rims had rusted to the point my tire shop said they couldn't replace the valve stem and tire. This combo worked out perfectly as a replacement.
