Today we're going to be taking a look at this spring keeper bolt for slipper springs. This suspension bolt attaches a leaf spring to a rear hanger. The slipper spring slides into the hanger and rests on this bolt. Now the lock nut that goes with this is sold separately. You can find it here at etrailer.com. This is going to give us a diameter measurement of five sixteenths of an inch.
It's going to feature 18 threads per inch. The length measurement is taken from the bottom of the bolt head to the end of the threaded portion. You can see that that's going to measure right around 3 and one quarter inch long. This is a grade 2 bolt. That's going to do it for today's look at the spring keeper bolt for slipper springs..

Bought this when I replaced my equalizer bar on my 48ft Take3 Car Hauler, the old bolt was pretty worn from the slipper spring, so I replaced it out of caution. Don't forget to get a nut! I did, but the old nut fit just fine for me. If your parts are worn, please replace them, it'll save you so much headache in the long run!
