Forget about swapping burned-out bulbs. This 3-1/2" round light uses a single LED that lasts up to 50 times longer than an incandescent bulb. At just 0.045 amps on a 12.8V system, it’s highly efficient while putting out a clean, bright red light. That means you get solid visibility and lower power draw with no fragile filaments to worry about.
Water damage can kill ordinary lights, but not this one. The housing and lens are sonically sealed into a single waterproof unit that keeps moisture out completely. Even if the trailer is submerged, the LED and circuit board stay protected so you can rely on it in wet or rough environments without worrying about corrosion or shorting out.
The install is straightforward thanks to the recessed mount and built-in flange design. It only needs a 2-3/4" diameter cutout, and the included foam gasket creates a tight, weather-resistant seal against the surface. The 2-wire pigtail with butt connectors keeps wiring simple—just connect power and ground, and it’s ready to go.
This light doubles as both illumination and a reflex reflector, so there’s no need to add a separate reflector for compliance or visibility. The integrated design keeps things clean while enhancing nighttime safety by making sure your trailer stays visible from behind or at an angle.
With a P2 rating, this light delivers a focused 90-degree beam pattern—45 degrees to either side of centerline—for clear visibility straight on. It’s perfect for use as either a side marker or clearance light, giving defined coverage where you need it most without lighting scatter or confusion.

Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a really quick look at the Optronics LED light for your trailer. This is going to give you a side marker light, as well as a rear light. It has the reflector, so other people can see what's going on with your trailer even at night. And then we'll have our two wires to connect for our power and ground. Then I see about these as they do already have the connectors installed.
They have some heat shrink butt connectors. These are for the 14 to 16 gauge wire. So the blue heat shrinks are usually for that size of wire. So you can just put in the wires to run into these guys, use a heat gun and shrink them down. And that'll give you a nice water-tight connection between those wires.
So kind of a nice improvement. It's nice they're already installed. So that's one less thing you got to worry about. As far as the size and dimensions, we'll take a look at all of that and make sure that this is the right size for you. Again, it is an LED light. So it's going to give you that clear side marker light for your vehicle.
You can use this as a side marker or clearance light since it's just P2 rated. That means it's only going to give you a 90 degree beam. So somebody can't see it from both directions. So if you wanted to have this to do both those functions or kind of put it on a corner so that people could see all the way around you, you'd actually have to get two lights to do that since you can only see it in that 90 degree view. And there's a pretty good diagram on our website here at etrailer.com that explains that a little bit more fully. It's just a single diode that gives you that light.
I'm going to hook this up to power and ground so you can see how bright that is. It's not going to be super bright or really illuminating a wide area. It's just going to be enough so that other people can see your trailer while you're out on the road with those lights on. So I'm going to get my little alligator clamps in there. Hopefully those will be long enough. There might be a little bit of flashing just because of my connection here. Since I'm just using these alligators clamps. Here we go. So I got to hold my power in to get it to turn on, but you can see that lights on there. And with the studio lights out, you can see just how bright that is. So again, not super bright, but enough that other drivers can see you and know where your trailer is.Put those off to the side. And then as far as measurements, the outside edge of the light is about three and a half inches in diameter. It does have this little kind of foam ground at the backs of that does help us to stay pretty water tight. We put this over here. The cutout this will need to fit into is about two and a half inches in diameter. We'll have three mounting holes, and those are spaced apart about two and three quarter inches apart center to center, going across that triangle there. It looks like about quarter inch hardware should work just fine for these. The connector or the wires coming off here, I'll give you a measurement of how much lead you get. Should be enough to get them connected up, but never a bad idea to know what you're working with. So it looks like you got about seven inches of wire to work with here. The lens and housing is made out of polycarbonate. Again, those are the LED, does make it a longer lasting bulb or longer lasting light than your typical incandescent light. Did we work better in all kinds of terrain and should last you longer and have less chance that you'll ever need to replace it unless that housing cracks, but polycarbonate it's usually pretty good at withstanding most impacts. As far as the reflector, again, you can see the light reflecting there. It is waterproof, has a sonically sealed housing. So you should be able to use this on just about any kind of application you'd want. It's a single diode. The power draw at 12.8 volts is 0.045 amps, and there is a lifetime warranty on the LED and it is DOT compliant. That's pretty much it for our look at the Optronics LED Clearance Marker or Side Marker light. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right one for you. We do have a lot of other options available here at etrailer.com. So check them out. Thanks for watching.

Parfait comme la description pour mon campeur travel lite 2016
All rear Red marker lights on Motorhome replaced and brighter than ever! Very happy with this purchase!
Extremely satisfied with this product. Purchased as a lens replacement for a 90s camper with bargman 34-59-012 lights, and they snapped right into the old housing! Thanks etrailer!
Almost identical match to the Glo Brite clearance light that is no longer available.. Black wire is positive white is ground..
Hard to find parts available here. Quick shipping. Thank you!
Well to be perfectly honest they haven’t been installed yet. My helper was stung in the eyelid by a bee! He had to go to the hospital. I know this doesn’t say anything about the product, but it’s an interesting story. More importantly, these are just lights that I’m sure will work, but the guy on the phone that helped me order them was awesome!
Received the LED clearance light in great shape thanks.
The led lights are of excellent quality, embedded to mounting base with epoxy. Strong and waterproof, service was fast and so was shipping.I am 100 % satisfied with this co. and the products they sell.
The light fixture is great, but it says black Base and it came with a white base not matching with my trailer’s right light!
This was exact replacement for the side light on a mini bus
These led marker lights are super bright and easy to install.
Excellent product . I replaced all the red and amber clearance and side marking lights on my 1989 Holiday Rambler trave trailer with LED ones recommended by a etrailer representative and they look and work better than the original ones when the travel was new. I highly recommend etrailer.com for all your RV needs
I had one of these particular lights that didn’t work on our 2019 Rockwood travel trailer, and after checking the wiring, I discovered it was the light. The new light was ordered, and delivered quickly. I have installed it already and it works as it should.
Did not expect to find the EXACT marker light needed. Had to fish for awhile. Original lights are 24 years old. The light purchased was EXACTLY like the originals except LED. Will likely be ordering more to replace any other of the non functioning originals.
I had to change my marker lights to LED when I upgraded my tail / brake lights to LED. Easy to install and they emit bright light.
The experience was exactly like it should have been. I recieved the light in a timely manner and it was an exact diplicate of my broken one, except the new one wasn't broken. Installed the light and it works like it should!!!
Same as original light that came with my rollback. Quick shipping. Will definitely order again from etrailer.
Exact replacement for my camper. Easy to order. Shipping was fast. Easy to install. Top quality.
Though I didn't use them on a trailer, they've become the front turn signals on a Porsche 550 Spyder replica and they look great, they also didn't cost me $200, Thanks Guys!!
With several of the MCL31 clearance I had half or all of the LEDs stop working. I did not at the time realize they had a lifetime guarantee so I just threw them away. When A bunch of the LEDs in both BUL52CBs and about half of the turn/stop LEDs in the STL37RB went out, I contacted etrailer and they happily replaced them, but it took a couple of weeks and I had to pay the shipping. When I replaced all of my trailer lighting, I had thought that I would never have to worry about it again. LEDs should last forwver. That turns out to not be the case and it is a lot harder to change out hard wired LEDs than socketed incandescent bulbs. I wish I could find reliable long lasting LED trailer lighting.
Great replacement for my side mid-ship marker lights. My '08 Allegro Bay amber marker light cover had fell off due to the base of the original light base disintegrating from years of exposure. This MCLOO38ABB light fits the bill perfectly! Thanks etrailer for meeting the need!
I had to replace a side marker light on my 2015 trailer. I am the second owner and have had it for eight years. It came equipped with Optronics lighting all around, but one side marker had three of the six LED's out. So I replaced it with the same Optronics lamp. I have always had good results with Optronics and this is the first time I have seen a partial failure. No big deal. Replaced in kind and hopefully I won't have to worry about it again. They make good products and I would continue to purchase this brand.
