Truck Lite # 10276Y
Grote # 47223
Maxxima # M10201Y
The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.
A P2-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.

Today we are going to be taking a look at part number MCL23AB. This is the Optronics sealed beehive amber LED trailer clearance and side marker light. It can also function as a rear tracking light. It's going to feature a sealed waterproof housing and lens design. It's going to contain eight LEDs or eight diodes. That LED is going to make great replacements for incandescent lights.
They are going to burn brighter, last longer and they are going to be much more efficient. You don't have to worry about replacing the bulbs and you don't have to worry about burned out filaments. This unit is designed to accept the industry standard 2-prong plug that is going to be sold separately, but it makes it very simple to upgrade from incandescent lights. It's also going to mount with a mounting grommet and that is going to be sold separately as well, but you can find all those items here on our website. If we take a look at the overall diameter, I am going to measure here at the back because that is going to be the widest point. That is going to give us a measurement of about 2 1/2 inches.
The overall depth is, I'm going to give is a measurement, about 2 5/16 of an inch. The light is going to draw 0.061 amps at 12.8 volts. It is SAE and Department of Transportation compliant and Optronics is going to cover this with a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. We are going to hook it up to our external power source so that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. Simply going to take are two-prong connection, plug it into the female ports here at the back of the housing. Give it a good push so it seats well up against the housing and in those connection points.
And then you can see here that this light sends out a really strong consistent signal. Again, it's going to be an amber light. It's going to contain eight LEDs so it has the multi-diode design which is really going to optimize our light output and it's got that nice beehive design so it kind of gives it a really neat look as the light comes out of the lens there. That is going to do it for our review of part number MCL23AB, this is the sealed beehive amber LED trailer clearance and side marker light and can also be used as a rear tracking light. Part number MCL23AB from Optronics. .
