Today we're going to be taking a look at the tightened drum break actuator with the five position adjustable channel and the three inch lunette ring. It has a 20,000 lb weight capacity. This hydraulic actuator will activate your trailer brakes when the tow vehicle slows or stops. This one happens to have a nice offset adjustable channel. It has five different mounting positions for the coupler that you install in it. It does have this built-in drop which is great for tall trailers.
The reason that is is because the adjustable channel's positioned so that the mounted coupler can sit below the actuator tube, allowing for a nice greater drop than with the standard center-mounted channel. As a result, you can line your tall trailer with your tow vehicle's hitch for a nice level setup. This one comes with a lunette ring. This will couple to the pintle hitch. The adjustable channel can also be used with almost any type of coupler, including a standard ball coupler or a clove attachment to fit your specific application. Now, this has a nice unique roller design which will reduce resistance during the telescoping of the inner tube into the other outer tube.
Creates a nice straight line movement. You notice there's rollers up here and then there's lower rollers. They all have grease circ 00:01:05 fittings on them for lubrication. This actuator's a sturdy, durable steel construction, resists bending in any jackknife situations. The finish on it is a nice prying finish on the outer casing, and on the inner slide it's a painted finish.
It does come with this breakaway kit. This breakaway kit would be used to . hook this chain to your tow vehicle, and then if the trailer ever comes detached from the tow vehicle, that chain would pull and activate the brake system to keep the trailer from a runaway situation. Now, this is a well done installation. Application again is for trailers with hydraulic drum breaks. The mounting is designed to mount on straight, three-inch wide trailer tongues.
Gross towing weight capacity is 20,000 lbs. Maximum towing weight capacity is 2,000 lbs. The size of the the lunette is a 3-inch diameter. One last note on this, because this actuator does not include a reverse lockout, it is recommended that you equip your trailer with free backing brake, so that you can drive in reverse without this actuator triggering your trailer brakes.
