When you're building or servicing a hydraulic disc brake setup on heavier axles, the caliper has to clamp smoothly and release without dragging more than it should. This disc brake caliper holds and protects the piston, uses a self-adjusting design for smooth, even braking, and retracts the piston farther than traditional models to help reduce friction and heat buildup. Ceramic brake pads, fittings, and mounting bolts are included, while a hydraulic brake actuator rated at 1,600 psi or above is required and sold separately.
Brake parts live close to road spray, launch ramps, and heat from repeated stops. Cast-iron construction helps prevent flexing and maintain braking torque consistency, while zinc dichromate and anti-corrosion finishes help resist rust and environmental exposure. Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Let's take a look at this Lippert disc brake caliper with pad set. Folks, this is gonna give you everything you need to fit a 10,000 to 16,000 pound hydraulic disc brake assembly. So if your trailer's braking performance has started to decline a little bit, maybe you're even hearing grinding or uneven braking noise, it could be time to replace a worn caliper. So, this kit is gonna give you everything you need to restore reliable braking. And as you can see, I kind of got like a little rubber, a piece of rubber in there to hold these pads in place.
But obviously you got your dual piston here. They would push on the pads and they would squeeze the rotor. And then of course you got your brake line hookups here. And this is a heavy duty. It's great for fifth wheels, toy haulers, large travel trailers, maybe even utility equipment trailers that use the hydraulic disc brakes.
It is heavy duty construction. It's been built to handle the demands of those larger trailers and give you dependable braking for years and years to come. Now the hydraulic brake actuator, according to this, needs to be rated at 1600 PSI or higher. And the hydraulic brake actuator obviously is not included. You would already have that on your trailer, but again, make sure your brake actuator is rated for 1600 PSI or above for this to work properly.
And again, you're gonna get the caliper, the pads, the fittings, the bolts here, everything you need for installation. And again, as you know, a properly functioning caliper is gonna give you the brakes when you need it the most and give you that correct stopping performance.
