I have been researching and debating for a long time about buying disc brakes for our triple axle toy hauler 5th wheel camper. I finally pulled the trigger. I went with the DeeMaxx system as I felt the system was the best in quality. I chatted with etrailer staff several different times to verify some information. My opinion on etrailer, there is no better company to purchase from within the RV products. I have always bought my wheel hub seals and wheel bearings from etrailer. The website is easy to navigate and to help verify you are getting the correct parts for your equipment. The DeeMaxx system is fairly darn easy to install by myself. I watched a lot of etrailer installation videos over the last several months. These videos helped me gain the information for my installation. I did not get any pictures of the completed installation, as I ran out of time. I mounted the actuator in my battery compartment in the front of my rv. My area is fairly tight as I have two batteries and the hydraulic pump is also in this area. I considered running the brake lines inside the underbelly but decided against it. This had to do with more of my short timeframe than anything. I hope the lines exposed will be fine, I have not had anything ever be picked up off the road and hurt anything under the rv. The stopping power compared to the electric brakes is as outstanding as everything I had read about. That in itself is worth the cost. Highly recommend DeeMaxx and etrailer! 3648353

You are right in that we do not have a tandem axle kit with the 9/16" studs that you need. We have them in other wheel stud sizes but not the size you need. With that said you could go with the triple axle kit # DE26AR and have a spare brake kit for one axle. The only thing is the actuator in that kit does have increase volume for a triple axle trailer so it may be overkill, but it is still going to have the 1,600psi is needs so it will still work.

Hey Steve. For your 34' Long Top Hat triple axle gooseneck trailer, I recommend the Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit item # HYD54FR. It includes all the brake rotors, calipers, mounting brackets, EoH actuator, lines, and fittings you'll need to convert your electric brakes to disc.

As long as the brake controller in your 2025 Ford F450 has a setting for electric over hydraulic brakes, it will work perfectly with the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Triple Axle Trailers - 9/16" Studs - 8 on 6-1/2 - 7K # DE26AR. I'm 99% sure you have this in the settings, but definitely double check.

RV manufacturers just aren't that specific with their online literature.

Hey Charles! As long as you have 7k axles on your 2024 Kaufman the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit # DE26AR will work to make the conversion. It looks like you decided on the # DE76AR which will also work. However, you will need to swap out your hub and drum assemblies for idler hubs with an 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern and 1/2" wheel bolts like # DE46VR to be able to install the brakes.

According to my research you should have 7K axles on your trailer so I recommend picking up the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit which come with 9/16" Bolts # DE68YR.
If you don't already have brake lines then you'll want to pick up the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Triple Axle Trailers # DE26AR which comes with the disc brakes, brake lines, and an electric-over-hydraulic actuator so you can still use your electric brake controller to activate the brakes.
