Features to know about

Hands-Free Bed Access: Remote-Controlled Retraction

Opening or closing the cover is as simple as pressing a button. The Pace Edwards Bedlocker retractable cover uses an electric motor wired directly to your battery, and the key fob remote moves it in under 30 seconds. You can stop the cover at any point along the rails with the electro-magnetic brake for custom cargo coverage. Even if you lose power, a manual release lever on the canister lets you open or close it by hand.

Secure Storage: Aluminum Panels with Built-In Lock

The interlocking aluminum panels and built-in lock give your gear real protection from theft and weather. Each panel is powder coated matte black to resist corrosion, while silicon hinges create a tight seal that keeps out dirt and water. A weather-barrier seal at the tailgate closes off the rear edge, and when used with a locked tailgate, the bed stays fully secured.

All-Weather Performance: Sealed Canister and Drain Tubes

The angled canister keeps the retracted cover protected from rain and debris while freeing up space in your bed. It measures 12" tall by 10-1/4" deep and sits just above the bed floor, leaving about 9" of clearance underneath. The built-in water management system channels runoff through drain tubes that exit through the factory holes in the bed floor, so even heavy rain won’t pool or freeze in the rails.

Clean Look and Better Efficiency: Flush-Mount Design

Because the Bedlocker installs inside the bed rails, it keeps a low, flush profile that matches the truck’s lines. This aerodynamic setup reduces wind drag and can help improve gas mileage when closed. The cover fits over most fifth-wheel hitches, giving you towing clearance while maintaining full coverage when you’re not hitched up.

Simple Setup: No-Drill Installation with Pivot-Arm Clamps

Mounting the Bedlocker takes only a few clamps per side—no drilling needed. The pivot-arm clamps secure the rails evenly along the bed edge, and kickstands on the rear clamps keep everything level without overtightening. Once attached, just connect the wiring harness to your battery and you’re ready to roll (or retract).

Video Transcript for In-Depth Review of the Pace Edwards Bedlocker Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover

Ryan: Hey, everybody. My name's Ryan, and here at etrailer, we install, test fit, and review a lot of different parts. That way we could try to answer any questions those of you might have. And that's exactly what we're doing here today. We're going to be taking a look at the Pace Edwards Bedlocker retractable tonneau cover. The Bedlocker tonneau covers are custom fit for your truck, so you want to use our fit guide to ensure you're getting the right fit for you. Using a tonneau cover is a great way to not only keep the weather out of the bed of your truck, but it's also going to keep anything inside protected.

I know a lot of guys have tools and material back here that they want to keep protected and secure. Since this is an aluminum type cover, it's really secure. You're going to have a really hard time getting in through this cover. So used in conjunction with the locking tailgate, you're not going to have anything to worry about. All your stuff inside the bed is going to be locked up nice and tight.

So that way when you get off work, you're not going to have to sweat trying to grab your tools or anything else out, bring it in the house and deal with all that. So you can kind of rest peacefully there.Another big thing is how the tonneau cover is going to look and actually function. Honestly, this one is top-notch in my opinion. It is more or less a flush mount design, so you're not going to see it sticking up over the side of your bed and drawing a whole lot of attention to it. And even better is whenever you're driving, you're not going to have anything blocking or obstructing your view as you're going down the road.So with everything all closed up, we know it looks great and everything, but honestly, I think the coolest thing about the setup is the fact that it is electric.

So whenever you're ready to open it up or close it back up, all you're going to have to do is push a button. I don't know if you've messed with other tonneau covers before. Some of them can kind of be a pain where you're dealing with the straps and hooks and everything else trying to open and close it. It's not really all that much fun. This one's super easy. It gives us two remotes.

So it's actually wireless. So you can throw one on your key ring and whenever you're ready to open it up, you simply just push open. So you push a button once, it'll open, and what's neat is it actually has a brake. So let's say, for example, you only wanted to open it halfway, to maybe put whatever it is you might be putting in back there. You'd simply hit the button again and it will stop it. So, pretty cool little feature there. I bet it would come in handy if I had to guess. If you need full bed access, not a big deal either. You just continue to open it. It will stop on its own whenever you're opening it and closing it, so you don't have to worry about anything like that. And as you can see, even with it fully open, we pretty much have complete bed access. We're going to lose a little bit of space up front there, but in my opinion, the trade-off is well worth it.Now, something I was kind of curious about myself, and I'm sure some of you are as well, is how fast the tonneau cover's going to open and close. Does it take forever So I figured we'd do an experiment and time it. So I'll go ahead and hit close and start. And it's a lot faster than I would think it would be. Honestly, it's a lot quieter too. You don't hear this making a ton of noise, which is always nice. If you can keep things a little quiet, perfect. So it looks like we're getting pretty close, so right there, stop. So just about 20 seconds, roughly. To completely close it, that's pretty good. It's probably going to take you more time than that to do one manually. So compared to that, I'd say you have a little bit of advantage here at least a time savings.Just to give you an idea on how flush this actually is, we've got a pretty good view of it right here, and it pretty much just shoots straight across. As far as the rails here on top of your actual bed rails, I mean, it comes up just a hair. If I had to guess maybe about an eighth of an inch. You can just about get your fingernail underneath there and that's it. So about as tight as you can get it and as clean as you can, in my opinion. For those of you that are wondering how much space up here we're going to lose exactly, figured I'd just take a quick measurement so we can figure that out. If we just go from the front of the cover there back to the seal, it's going to be right at about 14 inches. So honestly, not really a huge deal. Still have plenty of bed space to work with. But keep in mind the canister isn't going to come all the way down to the very bottom of the bed, like a toolbox or something would, for example. We're still going to have a decent amount of space here. So maybe if you had some lumber or something like that, you could still slide it underneath there without any issues.I have seen a lot of different types of tonneau covers, and to be honest, this one is probably the best fitting. What I mean by that is how tight and sealed everything is. But if there's a will, there is a way, and to be honest, over time, water moisture could potentially seep through those seals and accumulate in your canister. And if that does end up happening, not really a huge deal. There's a drain on each side that'll allow that to run down and out underneath the truck. That way nothing's puddling up in there. You're not going to have to worry about anything rusting out. So inside, you can be confident that it's going to be nice and dry and stay in good working order. And that's really important, considering too that there's an electrical motor in there that needs to stay dry to function for years to come.So at the end of the day, this tonneau cover really does check all the boxes for me, at least in my opinion. The ease of use and how well it works is top-notch. The appearance of it, whether you have it open or closed, it looks awesome. No one's really going to be able to notice it. It almost looks factory, honestly. And even just down to the fit and finish, this fits really well, and that's not something you really see with a lot of different tonneau covers. A lot of them kind of fight you a little bit and just aren't exactly the way you want. I did not have that issue at all with this cover. Even just down to the little things, all the hardware it comes with, the clamps, everything is top notch, and it's a tonneau cover you won't be disappointed in.

My last truck had the Pace Edwards Bedlocker, so when I got a newer truck I had to get another Bedlocker. Great security. Electric opening without a key. To someone wanting to break into the bed there’s no apparent way to open it.

looks and works great!!! easy install fit my 2024 gmc sierra 3500hd denali perfectly

I love this tonneau. I would reccomed going with this model, but getting the tracks that support their racks. It was Covid time and stock was short. I was lucky to get this one. I would go with 4.5. I think they should have put a more powerful motor. Sometimes it doesn't have the power to open all the way. On another note etrailer was awesome. The rails were bent when the shipment came, they took rails out of there last one in stock and sent them so I could get it installed before my cross country trip.

Excellent, as always!

I was looking
for the very best for my 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500HD High Country and when you want the best, you get Pace Edwards. I've owned other brands before on other trucks such as Roll-n-Lock and ReTrax and both are great products, but for this truck, I wanted nothing but the best. With the track record and quality that comes with Pace Edwards, this is why they are the top of the line. I installed this cover completely by myself, a helper would have been nice to have, I was able to get it done with no issues.

The cover fits perfectly and looks like it was supposed to be there. etrailer's customer support is always top notch and the representative I spoke with on the phone made it so easy to order, she was very friendly and helpful. Everything came well packaged and undamaged. The 2 included remotes are nice, but I also ordered to sets of the accessory wired switch kit. I wired them together, sending 1 switch up front, inside the cab. The other to the back corner of the bed wired up to a weatherproof switch. I spent more time on the wiring than I did installing the cover.

The only thing that kinda bugs me (and this is 100% personal preference NOT an issue with the product) is the tailgate seal at the edge of the cover, the shape and design of the seal is such that it's a double wall flap with a hollow center. Now they may have intended it to sit on top of the edge of the tailgate, but I prefer how it looks butted up against the tailgate like a door seal, which makes a U shape. However I have to keep pushing it down to keep it flat across the back. I may end up sliding a small round piece of weatherproof foam inside, all the way across to create more of an bicycle tire affect, the foam keeps the seal "inflated" while pressure holds it tight when closed up. But that's just me.

Overall, VERY pleased with the products and service. The cover and wiring harness are both high quality, comparable to GM factory. I highly recommend this, well worth the money.

Love the pace Edwards electric retractable bed locker cover with remote. Super convenient .Looks great.
It is not 100% leak proof, minor water intrusion . Also below zero temps the cover will freeze up if accessive water is on it. I rinsed my truck at self serve car wash 20 degrees out and the cover froze up and could not get my Christmas tree in it.I was on a northern Christmas tour. Had to un thaw before it would open.however I do live in Florida so freezing is a non issue … this cover fits RAMBox which many covers will not.

The canister is a bit heavy and awkward for one person to get into the bed. But if this old guy can do it, so can you. Followed the instructions and, for once in my life, didnt have to take something apart to redo it correctly. Just take your time and its actually quite simple. The cover works perfectly, almost completely waterproof seal (maybe I just got lucky) and makes getting access to the bed 1000x easier than the trifold on my previous truck. Top quality, fit and finish are perfect. Would recommend Pace Edwards every time.
