You don’t have to pull the whole cover off to haul bigger gear. The BAKFlip MX4 folds up in three sections so you can open just what you need or fold it all the way up for full bed access. Built-in prop rods hold it upright while you drive, and the integrated buckle system keeps it secure whether it’s folded, flipped up, or completely closed. It’s simple and quick to switch between covered and open configurations without tools or extra parts.
Rain, snow, and dust are no match for the MX4’s sealing design. Matte black rubber seals and a built-in drainage system help keep water out of the bed, even through storms or car washes. The rear seal lets you open and close the tailgate with the cover up or down, so you never have to fight with overlapping edges when loading or unloading.
Each panel is built from ½" thick rustproof aluminum with a premium-density foam core rated to hold up to 400 lbs of evenly distributed weight. The aircraft-grade rails use a durable black powder coat finish that resists corrosion. This setup stays strong under load without flexing or rattling, giving you a solid platform that lasts for years of daily use.
The cover sits flush inside the bed rails for a clean, almost factory look. The matte black finish resists scratches, scuffs, and UV rays so it won’t fade or chalk over time. That low-profile setup also helps improve aerodynamics for smoother airflow while driving.
Once the tailgate is closed and locked, the MX4 automatically latches shut to create a secure truck bed—no extra locks needed. You can open the tailgate without lifting the cover thanks to the rear seal design, keeping your cargo safe but still easy to access when you need it.

The BAKFlip after 2 years is still functioning great. I fixed the curling cushion by applying some strong adhesive to the spots that had detached, taped it in place and let cure for a couple of days. That solved that issue. Would continue to recommend the BAKFlip to others.

The cover is still excellent and keeps our items dry and secure on those road trips. I stand by my initial review and still wish the weatherstripping would stick the the spray in liner better but its only been a minor annoyance that hasnt resulted in any water getting into the bed.
