Many hard covers make you choose between protection and full bed space. The BAKFlip G2 gives you both. Its quad-fold design lets you open just part of the bed or fold all four panels up against the cab for total access. Prop rods hold it upright while you drive, and built-in rubber bumpers protect your rear window. You can even secure the cover halfway using the integrated buckle system, so it stays put no matter how you’re hauling.
When the tailgate is closed and locked, the G2 automatically locks down to keep your gear safe. Each panel latches under its own weight as you close it, so there’s no need for extra locking steps. The aluminum panels are tough enough that no one can peel them up or cut through them. It’s a strong, tamper-resistant layer between what you’re hauling and the outside world.
Keeping cargo dry is easy with the G2’s full perimeter sealing and built-in drain system. Matte black rubber seals run along all sides of the cover, and any water that makes it past them routes through a gutter system and exits behind the cab through drain hoses. The 1/2" thick aluminum panels have insulated cores that strengthen the cover and help keep out heat and moisture. The UV-resistant black paint finish keeps it looking sharp over time without fading.
Opening and closing the cover is quick and effortless. Each panel releases using easy-reach pull cords in the corners, and both latches on the rear panel release at once with a single pull. The panels fold smoothly and lock automatically when closed. You can operate the whole thing by yourself in seconds without tools or adjustments.
Each 1/2" thick panel is made from rustproof aluminum with a textured black finish that resists corrosion and UV rays. The aircraft-grade aluminum rails have a durable black powder coat, and the cover supports up to 300 lbs of evenly distributed weight when closed. Installation is straightforward—just clamp the rails inside the bed, bolt the hinge rail in place, and you’re ready to go. No drilling required.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Bakflip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover, part number bak26101. Some special features of the Bakflip G2 is that it gives you the ability to drive with the tonneau cover in four different positions. This custom fit tonneau cover protects your cargo and your vehicle's bed from the elements. This tonneau cover is made of half inch thick rust-proof aluminum panels that are sturdy and durable. It has aircraft grade rust-proof aluminum rails with black powder-coat finish to create a nice strong base for the tonneau. This is an easy no drill installation.
The G2 also has a rubber seal which goes around the bedrails of the pickup truck and also here near the tailgate. This is also going to help prevent your gear from getting wet. Its aerodynamic style reduces drag and improves gas mileage. It's made in the U.S.A. and comes with a two year warranty.
It has an integrated latch system and three portions of the tonneau cover. One here at the back, which we can lift up and fold the back panel towards the cab. Now you can drive with this panel up using the deer rings at the top and the underside of the tonneau cover. You can also fold it a second time to use it in this setting as well. Now there is a latch along the second panel which we can pull to fold it again towards the cab.
You can also pull the third latch here with the panel closest to the cab and fold it up. Now there is a soft rubber padding which the panels can rest up against the cab of the pickup truck. Now these metal rods here along each rail of the tonneau cover can fold out and rest up on the back panel putting pressure up towards the cab of the truck and preventing the panel from bouncing up and down up against the cab. We can do this by unscrewing the black knob and inserting the metal rod into position and pushing down the plate up against the metal rod and securing it with the knob. The Blakflip G2 also has a unique integrated drain tube on both the passenger and driver's side of the vehicle.
This will prevent all of your gear from getting wet. Please remember that before closing the back panel of your tonneau cover your tailgate must be closed. With that, that will complete today's review of the Blakflip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover, part number bak26101.

I loved this cover so much that I bought another for my newest Chevy 2500 HD. Fits perfect, keeps things in my truck bed secure and protected. Easy installation with easy-to-follow directions.
This is the third Bak flip G2 Yard Tonneau Cover. Like that they are strong enough to hold test shap and fold flay enough the I can use the bed camera on my F-350 to help me hook up to the 5th wheel. And when it is closed and my tailgate is locked does provide some protection against theft of anything in the bed. I would recommend the cover to anyone that needs one.
Great cover!! It was easy to install and has kept everything stored under it clean and dry. I would definitely recommend it.
Overall, a good product. This is the third BakFlip I've owned on different trucks. Quality wasn't as good as older units. The wires to release the latches are too long and get trapped inside the cover so you can't reach them. I added pieces of tape to fix this problem. Also, the nylon straps to hold it open are a nice addition but the plastic buckles broke almost immediately. Older units with metal rings for you to attach bungee cords was a better design.

We purchased the BAK Industries BAKFlip G2 Tonneau Cover for our 2019 Ram 2500. We use this cover for security/keeping the weather off of our camping accessories for our RV. The cover works great and is fairly waterproof. The only issues we have had is the 1st latching cable, most of the time we need to pull the cable release from both sides to release the locking lugs to open. Over-all a good purchase, and would recommend it for anyone looking for a hard cover.
Great Tonneau Cover for my Ford Maverick, no issues in a year so I don't suppose there will be any. Fit is perfect and adds class to my little truck. Thanks for a good product.
This is the second BAKFlip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover we have purchased. The first was for our 2005 Chevy. This is for our 2017 GMC. The 2005 fit much better. The 2017 model is not wide enough to actually fit the bed allowing water to easily enter the bed. Also the posts that hold the cover up against the cab were drilled wrong. You have to remove the slide to fit the prop rod. They simply drilled the hole for the nutzert in the wrong spot on the passenger side. Just not the same quality fit or finish as the 2005 version. We would have returned it but sending it back was going to be too much of a hassle due to its size.
This cover is now completely junk due to a hail storm. No fault of BAKflip but the hail storm destroyed the cover is seconds. The aluminum used in this model is just too light to protect from any type of impact.

Love this cover. It was better than I expected. Equally as important I like working with etrailer. Good people that understand and can explain the details of their products. I have used them for a lot of stuff for my boat trailers always with good results.
The tonneau cover is excellent when you get it installed properly. I can only give it a 3 rating because the workmanship of their latches the way they installed them was very shabby. Had to move all the latches back into their frame so they would not hit the side rails, had to re-drill holes that fastened most of the latches to the frame. If they would have taken their time installed the latches properly, then it would have been an excellent tonneau cover all over.
I bought this cover so when I tow my fifth wheel camper I can open up and still leave a section closed to cover my air compressor and inverter and when I drop the trailer I can cover my hitch and lock it. It works perfectly for my application. Great quality and sturdy.

The BAKFlip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover has done an excellent job of protecting our various item in he truck bed while running around town or out camping. It is a good solution to securing items in the truck bed from casual theft.
Good product. I had to re-drill the prop rods for the cover. They were no where near where they should have been. Other than that, the installation went pretty well. Not quite as sturdy as the one I bought 15 years ago from the same company.
It’s well built and stout. Installation was a little tough. I’ve had to adjust lock tabs a few times. It sure works great keeping wheelchair covered.
I have had many brands of hard covers and this one out performs the others.
The installation is critical especially with the RAM box configuration as I have.
All the parts were supplied. Take your time, read and measure twice cut once.
This cover has been perfect for my application. Previously I had an electric motorized unit that leaked badly when it rained and had no mechanical override in the event the truck was not running. This cover is nearly waterproof and is easily opened and held open for travel if I choose to do so. It looks and works very well.
This cover works great and was very simple to instal. Didn’t take much time. The only thing I can recommend is that the instructions are kinda hard to follow at the begging.
Excellent cover! Easy to install. Looks way better on my truck than the old one and being able to fold it all the way up against the back window is very nice.
Ok the cover is great if you use it to secure items in the back but, the down fall is how the system attaches to the Ram trucks. The pressure applied by the bolts for securing the side rails causes the manufacturers bed rails to buckle in the middle which, is minimal if you live in a cold climate but, for the majority, it causes issues. I love the security but I hate what it does to my bed rails.
I ordered a Bakflip tonneau cover and fob lock for my tailgate. Instructions on the cover were perfect. It looks great. Absolutely no institutional videos on my 2011 GMC Canyon for the remote. The wiring connection portion of the install was just past tedious. Once figured out it works like a dream.
Very easy to install. I didn't use the instructions (no, I'm not one of those guys). I used the installation video on the BSK G2 tonneau cover on etrailer.com! It arrived in just a few days and was very well packaged. I can finally store things in the bed of my truck safely. Way to go etrailer and BAK Industries!!
This cover has made leaving items in our truck bed much easier.
I do wish it had a way to secure it when not fully open, I.e. one section open.
