Installation

Installation Step 1

1. Spread the chain around the back of the tire.

Installation Step 2

2. Connect the yellow and blue cable at the back of the tire.

Installation Step 3

3. Push the cable into place behind the tire and center the cross chains on the tire's tread. Then, on the front side of the tire, join the 2 ends of the yellow side chain using the green hook.

Installation Step 4

4. Feed the silver draw chain with the rubber tensioner through the red channel at the bottom and pull it tight. Then run the tensioner through the red rings. (Note: Depending on your tire size, you might not be able to thread through both rings.) Pull the tensioner across the tire and fasten it to the yellow chain on the opposite side.

Installation Step 5

5. Pull your vehicle forward and retighten the chain.

Class "S" Designation

SAE Class "S" tire chains are designed for use on vehicles with restricted wheel well clearance. Certain newer cars, vans and small trucks, especially those with large, aftermarket tires, may require Class "S" chains.

SAE Class S Clearances

These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:

  • A - a minimum of 1.46" (37 mm) between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well
  • B - at least 0.59" (15 mm) between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle itself.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

  • Option For Class S Compatible Snow Tire Chains for 275/65R20 Tires
Hi Luke, I would love to give you multiple options, but there is only one snow tire chain that is Class S compatible and fits your 275/65R20 tires: - Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2335 These don't have rim protection nor automatic tensioning - just assisted with their built-in tensioners - but I did at least want to give you the option available should you need the chains. I also recommend adjusters to ensure the chains are always snug, the Rubber Adjusters # TCMA2.

  • Recommended Tire Chains For Mud and Snow In Colorado
I have another option but the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2533 you were looking at will not be the best option for mud due to the use of cams that often come loose when driving on harsh terrain or mud, which is why they are listed as on road only. The option I recommend is the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains for Wide Base and Dual Tires # TC3229 which has a manual adjustment that does not use cam's that often come loose while driving on harsh terrain and is rated for on and off...

  • What Tire Chains Can I Use on My 2018 BMW X3 M40i With Tire Size 275/35 R21?
Hello Tom, For you 2018 BMW X3 with tire size 275/35 R21 you can use the Konig K-Summit Tire Chains # th02230k56. The # TH02230K66 that you were looking at are basically the same chains, just a little bigger than the # th02230k56. With your tire size, both will fit. Your BMW needs these kinds of chains because they are Class S compatible, meaning don't have the clearance behind the wheel to use the other chains you see on the street like # TC2335. The # th02230k56 are some of the easiest...

Hey Rich, I just checked with Titan directly and they confirmed that their tire chain set part # TC2335 is a confirmed fit for your tire size of 275/65-20 so these will fit and work great. It is weird they don't have that size on the packaging though!

  • Recommended Tire Chains for 275/65-20 Tires
Hey Gary! The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains item # TC2335 you were looking at are exactly what I would recommend for your F-350 with 275/65-20 tires. They have square links which are great for breaking up ice and grabbing traction in the snow. Plus, the diamond pattern gives a smoother ride quality. You can't beat the ease of installation for them either compared to other brands. Additionally, the item # TC2335 are Class S compatible so you won't have to worry about damaging suspension...

  • Will Titan Tire Chains Fit 2026 GMC Sierra 3500HD Tire Size 275/65R20
Hey Carlos, both tire chains you mentioned # TC2335 and # TC2536 actually fit the tire size of 275/65-20 that you have. There might be an error in our fitguide if it's not showing up for your truck but either do fit. The part # TC2536 is a heavier duty chain which just means it has thicker links than the # TC2335. Since GM recommends a thinner chain with better clearances I would recommend the # TC2335. If you are in an area that requires chains but you have a vehicle that says you can't...

  • Best Tire Chains For 2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty With 275/R65-20 Tires
Hello Dave, thanks for getting in touch. We do have tire chains that will fit the 275/R65-20 tires on your 2023 Ford F-250. For that I recommend the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2335. These are the drape-over chains with built-in tensioners. Definitely the best option for chains, especially if you plan on going somewhere where you will actually need to use them. Hello Michael, thanks for reaching out. I double checked the Titan Chain catalogue and according to them, the TC2335 do indeed fit the 35x12.5r20LT tires. Hey, James. Sorry for the confusion on our website! Our fit guide, when it comes to tire chains, is set up to show chains that will fit the known factory tire sizes. If you select a size from the drop down instead of one of the pre-set options, it will show you on the product page that the chains wont fit your year, make, and model. Hopefully that's not too confusing! If your tire size is 275/65R20, then the Titan chain part # TC2335 will work on your truck! When are you planning on...

  • Class S Compatible Tire Chains for 2026 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali With 275/65R20 Tires
Hey Greg! The Titan Chain Tire Chains # TC2536 are not Class S compatible. For Class S chains that fit your 275/65R20 tires we have the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2335. The only other option is cables, and I really only recommend them if you're trying to comply with the law and never plan on really using them. I also recommend picking up the Titan Chain Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster # TCMA2. What winter plans are on the calendar for your new Denali?

Hi Greg; do you want more basic tire chains or something more aggressive like the # TC3829 you were looking at? The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2335 will work well with deep snow and will fit those tires. They're also Class S compatible for setups with limited clearance. You need a minimum of 1.46" (37 mm) between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well and...

Hey Wayne, the best tire chains I can recommend for your Chevy Silverado 3500 with the tire size of 275/70-18 would be the Konig set part # KON44FR as they are easier to install, provide great traction, and will last a long time. For tire chains that fit the 285/60R20 tires on your 2022 Ram 3500 I recommend the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2335 because they hit the sweet spot of convenience and price point. These are a little easier and better quality than the common ladder style chains but they aren't super fancy as well so they are at an affordable price. • Tire Chain Fit For 285/75R17 Tires on Jeep Wrangler
The # TC3229SCAM physically fit 285/75R17 tires, but I took a glance at the owners manual of your Jeep Wrangler and it states that traction devices shouldn't be used on tires your size (actually tires even smaller than yours), so I would avoid these chains. Since you have to have them by law I highly recommend Class S chains which require limited clearance (a minimum of 1.46" between the top of the tire tread and wheel well, and at least 0.59" between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle...

  • What Tire Chains do You Recommend for My 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 with 275/65-20 Tires?
Thanks so much for including a picture of your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 HD owner's manual. This recommendation is actually quite common. The reason why manufacturers include these warnings is because they want to "wash their hands" of any liability if there is damage that results from using the tire chains on your 275/65-20 tires. However, even with that being said, there are ways that you can safely check to make sure that you have the correct clearance required to safely use tire chains....

Hey Brent, sorry for the confusion but if you have the tire size 285/60R20 then yes the tire chains part # TC2335 do fit your truck.
