Wiring a trailer doesn’t have to mean slicing into factory wires. The Curt T-Connector harness plugs straight into the tail light connectors and gives you a 4-pole flat trailer plug. No splicing or wire tracing needed—just plug it in and it’s ready to use.
Some vehicles can’t handle the extra current draw from trailer lights. This harness includes a powered converter that draws power directly from the battery through a black lead. That setup keeps your vehicle’s taillight circuits safe while sending clean power to the trailer lights.
The Curt converter is built to handle a full load of trailer lights with up to 6 amps available on the running light circuit. Weak or dim lights usually point to a poor ground, not the harness—its output is more than enough for standard trailer lighting.
Everything you need comes in the kit, including the white ground wire and screw for attaching to bare metal, plus the black power wire that connects directly to the positive battery terminal. Follow the instructions, make those two simple connections, and you’re set for solid performance every time you tow.
Once installed, you’ll have a 4-flat plug ready for brake lights, turn signals, and running lights. It’s the standard connector that fits most small trailers, so you can just hook up and go without needing adapters or extra wiring work.

Well made, all parts fit the car. I think the one error in the instructions is that the butt connectors are not heat shrink.
I've used etrailer twice now. I tried saving a few bucks by buying a hitch/wiring combo on a popular auction site. They sent the wrong parts and I waited too long before trying to install them.
I own a Prius and the seller sent stuff for a Buick.
I will never buy trailer stuff from anywhere but etrailer.

to the possible cost of repairing any car purchased in the last decade if you used a cheaper wiring kit. The wiring kit etrailer sells isolates the power provided to the trailer from the power provided to components in your car. If someone makes a mistake at the interface with the trailer

I am 75 and installed the wiring kit myself. three times (2006, 2014, 2018)
in my Prius vehicles. etrailer videos and static photos reassure that you are doing the installation correctly with the least hassle.
I used this for the 2018 Prius Prime and everything worked out just fine. To start, my kit was missing the black silicon that comes with it which was not a game changer but was unfortunate. I also wished they included the heat shrinking butt connector they featured in the video instead of the regular butt connector.
Now that my small complaints are out of the way, the install went smoothly, especially with the perfectly narrated video that walked me through the whole thing. If you don't have a lift, two jack lifts will do just fine, but just be prepared to be under there for a while. Overall, quality product with quality instructions. Thanks etrailer!
This is a quality kit and service from etrailer was outstanding as always. Using this on a Prius Prime it was most comforting to know this wiring kit isolates the trailer from the complicated and expensive electrical system of this vehicle. Draws power specifically from the small 12v cabin battery and independently fused as well. Used their video found on [line] and I installed this myself.
1. Something drew down battery when only driver side was connected but charged battery and proceeded.
2. Video very helpful but might mention that passenger side connectors are not near lights but behind hitch towards the middle of the car.
Once all was done, following the instructions worked fine.
I did this installation on 2021 Prius Prime. All parts fit perfectly. The most difficulty was fishing the 12v power wire from the hitch to the battery because I used a floor jack and did not have much space under the car. One tail light plug for one of the jumpers was on the right side of the trunk instead of left. I called tech support and we tested the tail lights with the plug disconnected (the tail lights didn't work- confirmed we had the right plug) then installed the jumper (they worked correctly -so we knew we installed the correct jumper). The converter box and ground connection had to be installed on the right side of the trunk vice left as shown in the video. The videos were extremely helpful.
Works as it should. Have used it for over a year now.
Installation was fairly easy with video instructions.

I have been towing more than I should and it hasnt fallen of yet. Thats very good!
This is nice. I saw a hitch someone else had put on their Prius Prime and it looked cheap and thin. This Curt is beefy. The powder coating is thick. Well worth the money. Etrailer's system when you purchase includes the video to install. Very helpful when you order

No issues to report. It made it thru a New England winter and is ready to rool for another jetski season. Great product.
Stopped working just as the warranty expired. Now I have to remove the fuse or it keeps a tail light on 24/7
