Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2017 Toyota Prius Prime

Question:
Hi, There are two trailer wiring kits that you show as compatible with the Prius Prime. The Curt kit Item C56371 has one connector less than the Tekonsha kit Item 118701. The Tekonsha kit has an additional red connector that will plug in to the matching connector on your vehicle, and that connector will be located underneath the vehicle on the drivers side, toward the rear of the taillight assembly.inch I dont understand how both could fit the Prius Prime when they have a different number of connections. Can you please help? Thanks,

Both the part # C56371 is fit for your 2017 Toyota Prius Prime.
The Curt kit uses it's converter box to interpret the other taillight functions to know when the brakes are being applied. Basically it's two different ways to accomplish the same thing.
