Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System. This is going to be an upgraded bump stop for the front end of your vehicle, whether it be a car like the 4Runner here or a motor home. These are gonna come in a variety of different kits and fits with different capacities and help stabilize the front end of your vehicle. Let's check it out.

So why would you be looking for something on the front end of the suspension enhancement side A lot of people are pretty familiar with airbags on the rear axle, and a lot of those suspension enhancement components are used in towing applications or maybe truck beds where you've got really heavy loads in the bed and you need extra support at the back of the vehicle. Now what the front end can do is stabilize that front end, if you do have something like a front mounted hitch, maybe a plow on a truck, or on a larger vehicle or even a smaller vehicle like this, it does help stabilize body roll a lot because these are going to be a lot beefier than the factory suspension and the factory bump stops, that is, and help limit that side to side movement as we're taking turns or driving down in like really windy conditions on the highway. So this will give a significant upgrade for those applications. As far as the construction for these goes it's going to be a hollow Aeon rubber material with a progressive spring rate. Now, what the progressive spring rate means is the more this compresses, the more pressure it has, the more it's going to work at returning the vehicle to its natural position.

So it's just going to resist more and more as it gets further compressed. As for the installation process, this particular one that I've been holding is for the 4Runner, and this one is a very basic kit. It really just has a threaded end with a bolt and a plate on the inside, but this just spreads into a factory weld done on the 4Runner. Very straightforward install. But for all the other different fits and kits, those are gonna have custom brackets and their own hardware that come with it.

So no matter what one you end up going with, if it's a fit for your vehicle, it's going to be custom fit. So the installation should be just a straightforward bolt on process. Now obviously that can vary depending on the kit and what vehicle you're putting it on, especially on the motor home side of things. But for the most part, you should be able to have a very straightforward install process with any of these kits you pick out. And to make sure you find the right kit for you, be sure to enter your vehicle information into our fit guide and use that to narrow down for the custom fit options available for your vehicle.

If you're considering some front suspension enhancement, I do think that these bump stops from Timbren are a really solid option. From the testing we did in installation on our 4Runner, they performed great. They reduced a ton of the body roll and really helped when we're going over speed bumps and just aggressive driving conditions where we need that extra support. Whether you've got a truck with a plow on it, or a motor home that you're trying to reduce body roll on, something like this can be be a huge help and it's a very straightforward solution. I watched installation videos for my FFF 53 Timbren suspension parts three times to familiarize myself with what I was going to be doing. This did help. I would say you need a little bit of experience in working on cars or trucks. This is a straightforward job with no fabricating needed. The hardware was correct. The instructions were correct. The parts fit great. I did this installation by myself. Another set of hands wouldn’t hurt but not necessary. If you’re on the fence on buying parts from Timbren, I would say go ahead and place your order.

In addition to the rear I installed front Timbren suspension improvements. With the “Safe T Plus” steering damper also installed, the ride was such an improvement from the white knuckle eyes bulging ride before. Test ride on a very windy day with cross winds I barely noticed. The rough road also made little impact. I could not be happier.

These Timbren’s were very easy to install. Between front and back it took an hour 1 1/2 hours. Did the job at my storage lot with a right angle battery impact driver, breaker bar and wrenches. Lowered the leveling jacks enough to make room.

I haven't had a chance to install the plow on my Jeep to see how this works, but installation was super easy (aside from getting the old bolts from the original rubber axle bumpers out).

Installation instructions say to re-use the original hardware, however my box included new bolts which is awesome since the old ones were pretty rounded after getting them off.

Once the old bolts were removed, installation only required a few wrenches and a rubber mallet. Assembling the rubber "spring" to the mounting bracket took a little ingenuity - the bolt that holds them together is JUST short enough that I needed to insert a washer sideways in my socket to be able to push the bolt enough to engage the threads in the bracket, then it was easy.

Mounting the assembled unit to the Jeep was easy - just put the first bolt partially into the frame then slide the unit under the head, then you can adjust the alignment and put in the second bolt. I used the rubber mallet to get the rubber "spring" to sit on top of the axle and align it so that is was directly above the axle. Then just tightened the bolts, and done.

I used 1 box end wrench and the rest sockets. The first bolt that goes in sits just above the round flange on the bracket so a socket won't fit. The second bolt is easily secured using a socket.

I hope this gives my 1993 Wrangler YJ Jeep the extra strength to support my plow - I am taking the plow off of another Jeep (same basic model) which had leaf springs that got SQUASHED and actually reversed (frowning face rather than happy face) so I'm hoping these suspension enhancers will prevent this from happening.

I have a very heavy "Cattle Guard" on the front of my RAM 3500 and this combined with the heavy 4WD and diesel engine the extra support from the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System definitely keeps the front suspension from bottoming out.

The bump stoppers are solid and the directions for installation were clear, even for DIY. The Ford F53 chassis for the Entegra Emblem is challenging to navigate. We found two sets of hands worked best. And installing the bolt from the top of the frame with the washer and nut below worked best.

The timbrens actually did what they were suppose to do. However, once I starter driving out west I notice the timbrens were riding on the axle which cause the speedometer to jump around depending on the road. I would recommend them if you are hauling or towing a camper or RV. I was going to contact etrailer about maybe removing a spacer for one set however the other set came as one unit. The bottom line is the Timbrens does stabilize your load for safe travels. I will be contacting etrailer soon to assist in correcting the problem...Road trip from Idaho,Colorado,Wyoming,and Utah were beautiful... Thank you etrailer

I like using Etrailer because i can call and talk to a person. These front ones went in pretty easy just like directions said. and they got rid of the bad bumping sound in my front end after hitting a bump. smoothed things right out.

I had a problem with getting front sumo springs relative to the rear sumo springs I purchased earlier; however, the staff at etrailer were very helpful in getting me a suspension enhancement component made by timbren which I just installed. I believe the timbren supports are going to do the job I was looking for and make me just as happy as I am with the rear sumo springs. You will notice from the photos the supports make direct contact; however, the pictures were taken on a unlevel surface and when the truck is on a level surface the direct contact is equal on either side. Also, the timbren supports provide substantially more weight capacity in the event I choose to haul my scooter on the front end of the truck. I installed Timbren’s front and rear on my 2020 F53 chassis motorhome. They are by far the best suspension upgrade I have done. I had previously installed Super Steer Trac Bar, Radius Rods and Safe-T-Plus, which had helped, but not as much as I had hoped. The Timbren’s finalized the package and it drives good now.

Easy install, didn't even need the brackets for my application. Really helped with sidesway in the wind and seems to help the front from dipping with extra weight. Haven't tried plowing snow yet but I think they will make a major difference

Ok it’s been a year since I’ve had the springs and I’m impressed. With how easy the install is and what you get out of it these are truly amazing. No more “squishy” feeling when towing my 22fy travel trailer. The ride is a little bumpy but I don’t care. I’m glad I found these.

Install was straightforward. Hardest part was getting the old bump stops out. Sway was greatly reduced on the Interstate and the rock and roll by passing semis was greatly reduced. Wish I had bought these sooner!

Pretty pricey but well worth it. Put these all the way around at the same time as new rear leaf springs on our c7500 topkick and it made a huge difference. It's a top heavy bucket truck and it would rock and roll just turning a corner to the point it was downright scary. Now thats greatly reduced. They also smoothed out the ride especially when loaded more than I expected.
Install was simple, perfect fit. Worst part was grinding out the rivet on the old bracket

I love these things. They are worth the upfront expense. I have them on two ¾'s, one ½, and a minivan for road trips. This particular set is full-time active up front. I have a 2" leveling kit and I'm in em no matter what. Zero complaints though. Solid performance through all aspects. I don't run any front-end attachments.

I have a 2006 Kodiak 2 wheel drive. Timbrin firmed up the front end to much. There in full contact with the spring. I think it to stuff and I might be removing them. The install was straight forward. Parts are as expected and quality of Timbrin is great. Just not enough cush..

For your 2004 F450 cab and chassis, the right Timbren option to help with rear sag and stability is the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System is part # TFRSD, and yes this is a great match for what you’re dealing with. With a 4000 plus pound Arctic Fox on the back, the rear is doing most of the work, so adding the rear Timbrens first is exactly what I would recommend to level things out and take that side to side sway and “floating” feeling...

Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2000 Fleetwood Motorhome on Ford Chassis
For your 2000 Fleetwood motorhome a little more information would help. A Ford F-550 chassis is a class C motorhome and a F-53 chassis is the class A motorhome. If you are just looking for shock absorption assistance that will help with body roll and stability, but sway control and steering are better addressed with other products. Difference Between the Two Recommended Timbren Systems for a 2003 Ford F-450 Cab and Chassis
The difference between the two part numbers is the capacity of the spring or the amount of support it can provide. Both the part # TFRSD and the # TFFSD4B (not the part # tfrtt350f) are confirmed to fit your 2003 Ford F-450 Cab and Chassis. The # TFRSD has a capacity of 12,000 lbs so it would be for heavier duty applications whereas the # TFFSD4B is for 6k loads.
