When your truck is working harder under tow, factory brakes can feel slower to respond. This front brake upgrade kit pairs severe-duty brake pads with heat-managing rotors for strong initial bite and predictable braking through repeated stops.
Adding trailer weight changes how your truck responds when you press the brake pedal, especially during sudden stops or repeated braking. These brake pads use a severe-duty, low-metallic friction formula that delivers a strong initial bite, while the matched rotors use OEM-style vanes to help manage the added heat towing creates. Together they give your truck a more immediate, predictable braking response that stays consistent through repeated stops.
Brake vibration often traces back to uneven rotor machining or inconsistent braking surfaces, especially after repeated heat cycles. The rotors use computer-controlled castings with fly-cut, mill-balanced construction and meet or exceed OE specifications for machining tolerances. A non-directional cross-hatch finish promotes even pad bed-in, helping your brake service start with uniform contact and maintain smooth pedal feel as your truck accumulates miles.
Fresh brake components often need a break-in period before they reach their intended performance. These brake pads use positive mold manufacturing to produce consistent density and precise dimensions, then add a bed-in coating that improves initial pedal feel and shortens the break-in process. Multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims help limit the extra noise commonly associated with high-bite low-metallic pads, so your truck delivers responsive braking without unnecessary chatter.
Road spray, moisture, and winter conditions often leave exposed brake components looking rough long before the friction surface wears out. The G3000 premium raw iron rotors use an OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, vanes, and edges to help reduce rust on exposed non-friction surfaces. Your brake components stay in better condition between services while continuing to provide the smooth braking performance they were designed to deliver.
Replacing brakes is a job many experienced DIYers can handle, but brakes are one of those projects where being almost right is still wrong. If you would rather leave it to a professional, find an installer near you.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Timbren front wheel BES brake upgrade kit. Now this kit has been designed to fit your 2020 to current Chevrolet Silverado 2500, then your 2020 to 2025 Silverado 3500 with either the dual or single rear setup. Now on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Just input the year, make, and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you, and our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.
Now upgrading the suspension of your truck can obviously improve the ride quality, help reduce sagging, and make your truck feel more stable while you're towing or hauling, but it doesn't reduce the extra workload placed on your factory brakes. If you've ever felt like your truck takes longer to stop with a trailer or a heavy load, or maybe your brakes are wearing out faster than you expected them to, or that added weight is making your braking feel less confident, that's where this BES brake upgrade kit is going to come into play. Now this kit is designed to give your truck a more consistent braking experience when it's carrying those heavier loads. This kit includes these low metallic Onyx bite brake pads that are going to provide a strong initial bite and eliminate brake fade that occurs with frequent stopping when towing. So you're going to notice more confident, consistent braking performance on every road trip.
And these multilayered rubber shims are going to help keep brake noise to a minimum without sacrificing brake performance. On your screen, the first picture there that I have for you is this a photo of an example of a shim from Timbren. I wanted to show you in detail the build quality of that shim and what's included there. Then that second photo there is just a more detailed look of the build quality of the brake pad itself. So those positive molded pads paired with these precision balanced rotors are going to promote smooth, even braking and more consistent pedal feel.
Speaking of these rotors, these are OEM style vented rotors. That's going to help dissipate heat during repeated stops to reduce brake fade when towing. And these are premium G3000 raw iron rotors and they feature Timbren's Onyx Bond matte black coating on the hat, veins and outer edges. And as you know, heat is the enemy of brakes, but this Onyx Bond coating has a heat threshold up to 932 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 67% better than the standard Geomet coating most commonly used on OEM parts. So this coating's also going to help protect them from rust caused by road spray, moisture, and winter driving, keeping your brakes looking cleaner between services without affecting braking performance.
The pads also feature a bed end coating identified by the blue lines here on the pads. This is going to transfer to the rotor to protect it during those first stops. So you're going to be able to enjoy consistent braking performance sooner after installation. Now installation's going to be pretty straightforward. It includes everything that you see here. You're going to get the pads, the rotors, the hardware, the wear sensor wire there. But if you are looking for help with installation, we can help you with that. On this product page underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to help you with the install. But overall, if you've already upgraded your suspension on your truck for that smoother, more controlled ride, this brake kit is going to compliment that suspension system by addressing really the other half of that equation. This is going to give your truck more stopping power and confidence to better handle that extra weight, whether you're hauling or you're towing. Together they're going to help give you a safer, more capable towing setup. I think it's going to wrap up our look today. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
