Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: 5,000-lb Load-Leveling Capacity

Heavy trailers and bed loads can make the rear sag and throw off your steering and braking. These Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity to bring the truck back to level when hauling or towing. By mounting between the frame and rear suspension, they keep weight evenly distributed across all tires so steering control, braking, and headlight aim stay right where they should be.

Dial In the Ride You Want: Adjustable from 20 psi to 100 psi

Every load is different. With manual inflation valves included, you can air up the springs to as much as 100 psi for heavy towing days or drop them to 20 psi for a smooth, compliant ride when unloaded. The ability to fine-tune pressure side-to-side helps correct off-center loads and keeps handling balanced no matter what’s in the bed or on the hitch.

Smooths Out Rough Roads: Double-Convoluted Rubber Design

Road shock and axle contact can make a loaded truck buck or bottom out. Each Ride-Rite spring uses a double-convoluted design with four layers of reinforced rubber that cushions bumps and absorbs impact between the axle and frame. The braided wire girdle shape increases burst strength while the rolled crimp seal keeps the metal end plates anchored tight for long-term reliability.

Firestone Ride-Rite double convoluted air spring showing reinforced rubber layers, wire girdle, and metal end plates for heavy-duty suspension support

Built for Real-World Hauling: Heavy-Duty Construction and No-Drill Install

These air springs are designed for real work days—rubber reinforced for durability, crimp-sealed end plates to prevent leaks, and corrosion-resistant hardware throughout. The brackets fit directly between the frame and suspension with a simple, no-drill installation using the included hardware, airlines, and valves. Add an optional compressor system later if you want in-cab control, but everything needed for manual setup comes in the box so you can get steady, level support right away.

5,000-lb Capacity. Ride-Rite air springs enhance your factory suspension for safety and stability when you are hauling heavy loads. They reduce strain on your rear axle, keep your vehicle level, and adjust to load size for a consistently smooth ride.

This installation took twice as long as it should have! The top plate had to be modified to clear the leaf spring U bolts and shock absorber bracket.
The Jounce doesn’t allow the installation of the 3/8@ bolts close the leaf spring that holds the brackets together. I’m not sure what to do with this now. I saw in other reviews where other people had similar issues. Not sure if it’s the universal bracket design vs having slotted holes like your video.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also both valve inserts had to be replaced!

I purchased this Firestone Air suspension and installed it myself on my 2017 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 4x4. Not having a lift, I had to use a creeper and tarps under and beside the truck to do the installation. Installation was pretty straight forward after viewing the video from etrailer a few times and using the provided diagrams. You will need good 3/4" drive hand tools for the installation. An electric or air impact wrench and ratchet also speeds things up. I then installed a mini onboard compressor with remote control for in cab or outside operation. The system has never leaked air but if it did, any time the vehicle is started, the compressor will refill the system. I keep 10 lbs. air pressure in it and raise it to 20 when I haul my dirt bike on my hitch carrier and it compensates nicely and keeps the vehicle level. All good so far.

This the 3rd truck I've used and installed myself of the Firestone 5,000lb rated airbags on, and not one has ever failed on me. I used them on a 2007.5 Chevy LMM 2500 LT Silverado, a 2020 Chevy 2500 LTZ Silverado, and yesterday I put them on my 2025 GMC 2500 Denali. I did pair my new bags with an Airlift wireless compressor, which is an awesome addition to the bags. I like the fact that etrailer did a comparison video on the Firestone and AirLift bags, and they found the Firestone bags are of better quality and can support the weight of the axle if you lift the truck off the ground by the frame. If you have never installed these bags, you do not have to lift the truck off the ground or remove your rear tires. If you're like me, and do not have access to a lift, I suggest removing your spare tire, which will give you more seating area, and you will not bonk your head into it. Two thumbs up on this kit

by:

excellent product, very easy (uncomplicated) install. anyone who is somewhat mechanically inclined can install themselves. It took me about 3.5 hours by myself with simple tools and a jack on my garage floor. Hardest part was me getting up and down from the creeper.
On my truck, (2015 GMC) i had to remove Ebrake cable brackets on both sides and reroute, not a big deal. also, did not find it necessary to remove spare tire heat shield, worked around it just fine. Routed my schrader valves through the plate screw holders for easy access.

etrailer has been great to order from. My orders arrive fast and on time. Products are as advertised . Great job ET.

by:

Working well as a leveling set up for my f250 with truck camper.

by:

The packaging is a joke. All the metal pieces banged around in shipping and arrived scratched up. The hardware bag ripped and a few nuts are missing.

by:

This was a replacement for a previous order that was damaged and appeared to have been used.

I appreciate the prompt service from Shawn B. for her prompt handling of arranging our return of damaged product to your company and also arranging for this replacement.

We returned the damaged product on 7/6/18 using the UPS shipping label provided by Shawn.

by:

Easy install and I wanted bags for flexibility. You won't go wrong with these.

by:

I have a 2018 DRW F350 Diesel. I purchased the Firestone rear air bags on a weekend and they arrived via UPS on Wednesday. I pre-assemble as much as possible on my work bench. My truck does have the factory 5th wheel hitch installed. It took about 3 1/2 hours for my brother and I to install. I haul a Lance 1172 truck camper and was very happy with the results. These things work!

by:

Was fairly easy to install. All bolts on using existing holes. Took about 5 hours. Installation instructions were easy to understand. Air bags have worked great when towing 5th wheel.

by:

Excellent service. Etrailer rocks. Fast delivery. The product is not installed yet.

The air bags work great. Real nice for leveling and ride when pulling our 5th wheel.

by:

This is my 3rd set of Air Springs. They are awesome if you seriously use your rig, I highly recommend them. I've installed them on a 2005 GMC 2500, a 2013 F-150, and this set, a 2017 F-250. This recent set ended up being the most problematic. I am not a mechanic and I don't play one on TV. Maybe because I installed 2 previous sets, I didn't pay enough attention to the directions. Anyhow, the directions are for 3 different installs on 3 different F-250's. Really confusing to have on the same sheets of paper. Also the verbiage on screwing in the valves is, for lack of a better word, weird. Screw them until you can't see the coating on the threads.

Shipping was incredibly fast and the quality of the items were all you could hope for. I did get a battery powered ratchet for this install and I highly recommend you do the same. I don't have a bay or pit, just a garage. With perfect 20/20 hindsight,, take off the wheels!

Last but not least, the video really needs editing! Way too much advertising/marketing pushing the product in the install video.

by:

Great quality airbag by far the best in the industry, installs easy and helps with the heavy load immensely.

by:

Absolutely excellent product. Quality is exceptional bags do everything they are supposed to do no problems with any air leaks very very happy with my Firestone Ride-Rite bags

by:

Overall very pleased with these air bags. I did add an on board air compressor to allow easy adjustment as I pull anything from a 16,000# fifth wheel, to a 10,000 car trailer to a boat trailer. The ability to adjust with the on board compressor just added convenience to an often used set of air bags.

by:

Brackets and bags are of very good quality. This type of over the leaf spring design is fantastic and much easier to install. I assembled the whole thing together and simply bolted in place.Hardest part was deciding where would I like those schraeder valves placed.

by:

Mostly raves about etrailer rather than the air bags. 2nd set of these for my 4wd f250’s I use the2wd model so I can keep my factory bump stops and move the bags further outward. They fit my trucks perfectly and I also run the day star saddles so if my truck needs to articulate , it will not cause damage. As always e trailer has the best price coupled with super fast shipping and after purchase support.

  • Best Suspension Enhancement to Reduce Squat on 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty When Towing 5th Wheel
So the issue you are having with squat on your 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty will actually not be resolved with either of the SuperSprings suspension kits you mentioned. Those will help to a point, but they aren't going to resolve squat because they are going to flex with weight on them so your truck is still going to squat. To prevent squat the best suspension enhancement option for your 2019 F-250 is going to be air bags. The reason is because they allow you to fill the air bags to whatever...

  • Air Bag Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2017 Ford F-250 that Won't Add Height
The jounce bumper in the # AL88399 can cause a slight increase in ride height even when the bags are uninflated. There is a much better option for you since you do not want any additional height. Instead you'd want the Firestone kit part # F2600 which will not add height when uninflated and actually will give you a higher quality air bag. This would be your best solution.
