What Suspension Capacity Does Firestone Ride-Rite 2600 Offer for 2017 Ford F-350

So the capacity listed for the air bag kits like the Firestone Ride Rite part # F2600 is the amount of additional suspension support the kit can provide. So this kit will give you an additional 4,800 lbs. of support which will help you carry the factory payload figure your truck has. These do not give you additional capacity above what the vehicle already has. Basically they just help support the factory capacity so that it can be used to it's potential. My response to your answer: You say it provides "..additional suspension support.." which infers it does increase the GAWR and GVWR. I know that these CANNOT increase either GAWR or GVWR. My question is that my F350 has a rear GAWR of 7230 lbs. When the F2600 is mounted on the rear axle it is rated at 5000 lbs. of capacity. This makes me think that I MAY need an air bag that provides 7230 lbs. of capacity instead of just 5000. That is why I supposed in my original question that the 5000 lbs. of capacity provided by the F2600 might only be supporting a portion of the rear GAWR of 7230 lbs. Bottom line, I don't want to add a gadget that is going to DECREASE my rear GAWR from 7230 lbs. Would appreciate if you would amend your response with my follow-up question to clarify.

The Firestone kit does not become the sole form of suspension support so you would not reduce your capacity to the Firestone's rated support capacity. Your truck's suspension is still carrying the weight as well and the Firestone bags are basically just sharing some of the load. It's really hard to give an exact figure for the capacity of these springs but as long as you are under the capacity of the truck and using the kit your truck needs you will be fine and you'll have the additional support.
