Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Heavy Loads: Up to 5,000 lbs of Rear Axle Support

Hauling a big trailer or a bed full of gear can cause serious sag and shaky handling. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs add up to 5,000 lbs of rear axle support to keep your truck level and steady when it’s working hard. With the ride height corrected, steering and braking stay predictable, and your headlights stay aimed where they should be.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Internal Jounce Springs and Progressive Support

A heavy load on rough pavement can make your suspension bottom out and toss you around. The built-in urethane jounce springs engage even at low air pressure to absorb bumps before they reach the cab. These air springs also deliver progressive support—the more weight you carry, the firmer they get—helping control sway and bounce so the truck feels planted and comfortable no matter the road surface.

Dial In Your Ride Comfort: Adjustable Air Pressure from 5 psi to 100 psi

Every load is different, so your suspension should adapt. The LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate lets you fine-tune firmness with air pressure between 5 psi and 100 psi. Add air when towing or hauling to level things out, then drop back down when empty for a smoother ride. Manual inflation valves mount on the bumper, and you can pair them with an optional WirelessAIR system for quick adjustments straight from your phone.

Keep Full Suspension Travel Off-Road: Included Spring Cradles

When you hit uneven ground or need full articulation, losing travel isn’t an option. The included spring cradles keep the air bags properly positioned while allowing complete suspension droop. That means your setup keeps traction off-road without binding or limiting flex, all while maintaining stable support under load.

Built to Last Through Years of Work: Corrosion-Proof Zytel Nylon Endcaps

Air systems are only as reliable as their seals and materials. The LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate uses corrosion-proof Zytel nylon endcaps that are lighter yet stronger than steel, resisting rust and air leaks that can sideline lesser kits. It’s durable hardware with a lifetime warranty and a 60-day satisfaction guarantee for long-term confidence wherever you haul.

Video Transcript for Review of Air Lift Vehicle Suspension - LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Rear Air Springs Jounce - AL45QF

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Air Lift LoadLifter 5,000 Ultimate Rear Axle Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers. Now this kit has been designed to fit your 2021 to 2025 RAM 1500 and on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our Vehicle Fit Guide here at etrailer. Pop into year, make and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you. And our Fit Guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.

So this is an air suspension upgrade kit that's custom fit for your truck. So it's gonna bolt right into existing mounting points. No complicated modifications are gonna be needed, and what this really does is help your truck handle weight better. So if you're towing a trailer or carrying a heavy load in the bed, this system is gonna be able to support up to 5,000 pounds of load leveling. That's gonna keep your truck sitting level instead of sagging in the back, which is gonna make a big difference in safety and control.

This is also going to help improve your ride quality. As I mentioned, these bags have internal jounce bumpers that are gonna help absorb bumps and rough roads, so you're not gonna be feeling every dip or dealing with that harsh bottoming out feeling. And when you're towing, the system's gonna stiffen progressively under load. So that's gonna help with braking, steering and overall stability. Durability-wise, this system is designed to last.

The end caps of these airbags are made from corrosion-resistant nylon material, so you're not gonna have to worry about rust or air leaks over time. One of the best parts with this kit is adjustability. You're gonna be able to fine tune the air pressure anywhere from five to 100 PSI. So if you're driving empty, you can keep it soft and comfortable. And then when you're loaded up, just add air for more support.

And if you ever take your truck off-road, this is still a solid option because this kit does come with the spring cradles that are gonna let the suspension fully extend without limiting travel. So you're gonna be able to keep traction and flexibility on uneven terrain. And then if you wanna make it even easier, you can add a wireless system that's going to add, that's gonna let you adjust the air pressure right from your phone instead of messing with manual controls. And we do have those kits available here at etrailer, it's gonna come with the compressor and everything that you need to adjust the air pressure from either inside of the cab of your truck or from your phone. This does include everything that you see here on my table. You're gonna get the airline, the air fittings, the hardware, the brackets. I kind of have it loosely set up here as to how that's going to mount on your truck. Instructions are also included to guide you through the installation process. Speaking of installation, if you don't wanna really deal with that installation yourself, we do have you covered on that front. On this product page underneath the Photo section, we have a link that will take you to our Installer Locator, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to do the installation for you. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

I was easy to install just a few hours. Everything in the kit fit well. It would be nice if an extension brackets were provided for the brake line/abs wire mounting bars would be included like the brake line adapters that’s provided in the kit is my only recommendation to make it top notch.

Glad to hear the install went smoothly! Thanks for the suggestion on the brake line/ABS brackets too. Definitely something that could make a good kit even better!

Just had them installed, I’ll be hauling a 9800lb travel trailer soon. That will be the real test!
Added 40lbs of air, they sit the rear of truck up nicely.

Works amazing. The install was a little more difficult than it appears… It actually took me and a couple other guys five hours to get it completely installed.
There was a lot of cutting/grinding metal to make pieces fit properly, and had to drop the axel completely… I think that’s only for my gen 2 raptor.
At the end of the day, though I’m very happy with the result

Product works great and helps level the truck during towing. I have noticed a difference in the amount of travel my back wheels have when offloading. But I knew that would be a sacrifice.

Great instructions and easy installation! Fit perfectly! Loaded my tractor to test them out and they completely leveled my sagging truck with 42psi.

Happy to hear these are getting the job done! Your set up looks great, and man! What a beautiful picture. Blue, sunny skies, green grass, a cool breeze (I'd wager) perfect day to hitch up the trailer and get some work done!

Been great! I really don’t like the internal jounce stops though. When you are unloaded and running lower bag pressure, a dip or bump will hit the bump stops really hard and jar your passengers in the backseat. It’s almost too uncomfortable to ride in the backseat now. As for the loaded and high pressure performance it’s great! Great handling and no sag at all when towing.

by:
The truck rides much better now, though I haven’t yet towed with the air bags yet. The bags took out that annoying side to side movement.
Just great!
Easy to install.

Install looks fantastic Lloyd! Glad to hear they helped with the side to side movement. What kind of trailer are you going to be towing with the new set-up? Fun camper, work trailer?

by:
Deliver was awesome, installation was a little more complicated than expected but had installed big wig sway bar and torklift lower wedges added some unexpected fitment modifications but I can say has delivered results I wanted.

That is great to hear, even with some modifications I am glad this is what you were wanting. That truck bed camper set up looks awesome. Do you have any big trips planned this year?

by:
I purchased a set of these airbags for my old truck from etrailer and ran them for 17 years pulling a 42’ fifth wheel without any problems. So there was no hesitation for me to order the same for my new truck. I looked up everything I needed up on the etrailers site and called Josh at etrailer and he verified what I needed and got it on order. Also he verified my onboard compressor would work with the new air bags. Everything was received in a few days as usual. The airbags came with very good instructions and were no trouble to install and installation went quickly and have been preforming great. etrailer is always my go too for my truck and camper parts, also the bonus is if you have any problems or questions you can call etrailer and talk to a real person and get any problems corrected. etrailer for the win.
by:
I did the installation myself with auto ramps and a bottle jack. The instructions were good, however, some of the pictures were dark and hard to see. At 60 PSI and no load the truck rides like it has no shocks so I have been running 10 PSI and it seems to be great. 2015 F250 4x2 ext cab. I drilled the TAG screws and install the air fill ports in there place.

That’s a pretty clever spot for the air fittings, I’m definitely taking note for the future! Also, if you ever run into instructions where the images are hard to see, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to email you a clearer digital copy anytime!

Incredible difference! Even with a weight distribution hitch i couldn’t get my toyhauler and tundra level. The internal jounce alone raised my hitch several inches but with air, Wow! Also note, you CAN keep the RAS helper springs installed. You just have to pry a little when installing the U-bolts.

Good system seems to made very well. I also got the Airlift Compressor as well Would have done 5 stars but the quick mount doesn't fit a 2025 F250 frame. About an inch to small. DIRECTIONS are terrible, pictures are blurry. Had to you tube the install. for that much money a couple of more pages explaining better with clear pictures.

The AirLift 5000 work great. The installation brackets didn't work for my Toyota RV & I had to fabricate the ones that'd mount to the frame. Otherwise, awesome improvement to the stability & ride.

What all did you end up having to do to the brackets to get them to fit, if you don't mind sharing?

@BrookeM I used the brackets from my timberon shock springs and modified them to support the 5000. This gave me the proper height, spacing & room that I needed. I then reinstalled the Timberons where my old air springs had been installed. Smooth ride now.

Overall I am very pleased with the LoadLifter 5000. I purchased for a 2017 Tundra 1794 which we pull a 26' travel trailer. Prior to purchase the truck & trailer had a noticeable sag and it was challenging to distribute the weight in the trailer to reduce the sag. With the LL5000 the sag is eliminated with around 40 psi and the overall feel of the truck & trailer was much more solid and less bouncy when going over rough roads. Also, I was able to haul some lumber several times were the load was around 1,700 lbs which was 600 lbs over the stock capacity of the Tundra of 1,100 lbs...this was done with 60 psi. The LL5000 really showed their performance there with no sag with this load. The only reason I give a 4 out of 5 stars is the drive performance when not carrying a load or towing the trailer. Unfortunately the drive is not as smooth as the stock configuration. I've tried adjusting the pressure from 0 psi thru 30 psi in intervals of 5 psi and unfortunately there's some added bumpiness no matter which psi is selected. Overall, at around 10psi that seems to be the best ride but again, not the smoothness of the stock configuration. But if you're needing to eliminate sag with a trailer or boost your haul capacity, the LL5000 will definitely satisfy those needs.

VERY GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION!

I have a 2020 Sierra 1500 AT4. I have the back loaded with a DECKED drawer system full of tools, plus all my gear in tubs for investigating fire scenes. My amazing pickup was nearly riding the bump stops all day. On a bumpy road, it was pretty taxing. Off-road was brutal. After some research I found this kit to fit my AT4 truck, part #88388.

You will need tall jack stands for this project. We ended up bracing ours on the rear leaf spring perches due to exhaust routing.

This is a brand new install, so time will tell as to how it holds up, but I have high expectations. This kit comes with paper instructions that are pretty spot-on. The pictures were helpful, and the instructions are detailed enough for a novice to understand. With one extra set of hands, I installed this kit in about 2 hours. I mounted the single fill valve in my gas-fill area, hidden behind the fuel lid. No bending over to add or release pressure.

After the install, I ran the pressure up to 40 psi as recommended. I got about 2 1/2” of lift out of that. I pulled a trailer home from the shop, and my truck rode like brand new. For my daily cargo, I think 40 pounds is just about perfect. And my tailgate is back at belly button height again. My headlights are shining where they should be shining. My bottomed-out ride is now compliant and comfortable.

The parts seem to be quality, and I had zero fitment issues. The only specialty tool was the T40 TORX tip for removing brackets from the axle front. You need it before you start. This kit is an easy install with a basic 3/8” socket set, a couple box end wrenches, and a couple other basic hand tools. This project should not scare too many people away.

Pro tip: You may think you can do it without taking off the tires. DON’T!! You’ll be pissed off at your truck and anyone nearby. The time savings will be worth it.

Also, the parking brake is on the back axle. Chock the front tires and/or put your rig in 4 low before lifting the back end.

@GwendolynY The trailer was picked up in a pasture and dropped off in another. Both the fetching and delivering were compliant rides. The airbags sure looked small during the install, but they managed my truck and trailer weight with ease and grace. It’s exactly what I hoped for when I purchased this air bag kit. The factory suspension was able to manage the bumps all while NOT having to fumble with the added cargo I pack around. I give this setup an A+ after driving it for a few days. The highway miles are on par with my truck brand new and empty. I’m very pleased with the product on and off road. I’ve dropped the pressure in the bags to 35 for a comparison, but I know there’s a sweet spot at 40 psi for my working conditions.

I run an arctic fox 811 on a f350 single wheel, and these have been a game changer, no issues and helps that ride quality with the weight of the truck bed camper in the back. Having the air chucks in the fuel door is a recommendation I would recommend to anyone going without a on board air compressor

I installed these on my Tundra and did the install myself. Easy to install. The video's on the website are helpful as well as searching on youtube for more videos. I use these for towing our travel trailer. They work great for inflating and leveling the truck and trailer. I would buy again if my next truck did not have them installed.

These bags have been great! I installed them, along with the compressor, on my 2024 Tundra. I pull a 6k lb camper and was getting about 3” of squat. I run 45 lbs in them and it reduced the squat to only about 1”. Great price to fix my problem.

etrailer delivered these in four days which was a pleasant surprise. The Load Lifter 5000 were easy to install and all of the parts fit perfectly. The installation instructions were spot on as well. I tried to save a little time by leaving the wheels mounted, that turned out to be a mistake, so I removed the wheels mounted on the second side and saved about 45 minutes. The loadlifters perform exactly how I want. They took all of the sway out of my tundra while hauling my truck camper.

Easy install thanks to a Great Video & decent paper instructions. I installed them using a single line for air compression. Extremely pleased with the performance & quality. Will be ordering the "Wireless One" onboard compressor shortly to complete the project! Great job, folks!!

works very well. i installed them on a 2012 Ford F-150 towing a Grand Design 2600 RB. the airbags substantially helped cut down the bouncing when going over big bumps, bridge decks, etc. also helps with the side winds. very happy with set up.

Installed on a 2024 GMC Sierra Crew SLT with rear poly mono springs. This worked great and the install was easy. It took me about 2.5 hours on a 4 post lift, but you could do it in the driveway if you needed to. I reached out to airlift to make sure it would work on a vehicle with mono-springs and they were not 100 percent sure if it would. So I took a chance and it worked flawlessly!

I explained the size/weight of the load I carry in my duallie. A 5000lb slide in camper and a 28' twin engine jet boat. These bags are probably great for their respective load, but I was convinced by the sales team at etrailer that these would be sufficient. They aren't. I can put 100lbs of air (the max) in and truck still sags. Should have gone with the 7500 lb bags.
by:
2021 Ram 2500 install was easy, it took a while to run the airlines. I pull a 5th wheel camper 700 miles each trip, the air bags eliminated the side by side roll and keeps the bed level. So far I am very satisfied with the results. When I am not pulling a trailer I lower the air bags to 10lbs for a better ride.

Glad to hear you are keeping air in there when not in use Bradley! Are you always going to the same place on those 700 mile trips?

by:
Video and instructions being the same would be helpful. Ended up having to remove wire harness brackets on axle and remove tabs to clear air bags. Air bags improved drive ability greatly when pulling camper.
by:
This product was fairly easy to install. The biggest problem I faced was a suspension bracket on my passenger side next to wear I installed that airbag. It was not mentioned in the video instructions. I really struggled getting my tools and hands on such a tight spot. After an hour, everything was ready to roll.

@Ace Great to hear! Are you keeping a minimum of 5 psi in them at all times? That's usually the key to making them last.
by:
These airbags definitely give me a much better ride due to Toyota using coil springs in the rear. I would have given them 5 starts but one of the airbags inset thread was damaged and I was lucky enough to have the right tap. It wasn't noticed till I had my truck on the lift and the first bag installed. If i wasn't able to do that I would have had to uninstall the first bag and wait for a replacement. I understand these things happen but check your parts thoroughly before installing. I would purchase these bags again if needed.
