The flush design of the Yakima BaseLine FX Roof Rack keeps the JetStream crossbars tight to the roofline, giving a clean, factory-style appearance. Nothing extends beyond the roof, so it blends in with a low-profile look that feels built-in rather than added on. Each bar measures 44-3/4" long x 5" wide x 3-1/2" tall, keeping the setup compact and tidy.
The aerodynamic shape of the aluminum crossbars helps reduce the wind drag that can cause whistling at highway speeds. Push-down rubber strips fill the top channels to smooth airflow, cutting down on noise and vibration while you drive. The strips also seal around channel-mount attachments for a quieter, more stable ride no matter what you’re carrying.
This rack is ready for all kinds of gear. The aero-style bars work with both channel-mount and clamp-on accessories, so you can attach carriers for bikes, watersports, snow gear, or rooftop cargo boxes without changing setups. 2-years into owning my system: I have had the rack on the vehicle for 2-years and never removed it. Every 3-4 months i check the performance of the base clips and they have never come lose. I think best practice is to always check the stability of the rack however i have never had a problem and the system has always stayed tight and firm. Its been a great system for the vehicle.
