  • Sturdy ratchet makes it easy to tighten down and maintain tension on the strap
    • Large bar handle provides solid grip
  • Back Off Technology (BOT) allows strap tension to be safely released

  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 1,666 lbs
  • Maximum load (break strength): 5,000 lbs

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Back Off Technology Safely Releases Tension

Back Off Technology

This ratchet features Back Off Technology that lets you safely back the tension off step-by-step. This helps prevent sudden movement when removing the strap. Simply put the lever into the additional Back Off position and ratchet in reverse to release the tension.

Video Transcript for Detailed Breakdown of the ProGrip Reversible Ratchet Tie-Down Strap

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Pro Grip Reversible Ratchet Tie Down Strap. Now this tie down strap lets you easily secure cargo in your truck bed or trailer. The ratcheting mechanism makes it very easy to tighten down the strap and maintain tension on the strap. All you have to do is place the strap over or around your load. Connect the hooks to secure anchor points. Pull any slack that you have out of the strap.

Get it hand tight. Then you use the ratcheting mechanism to apply tension and tighten the strap over or around your load. That's all there is to it.The main thing that sets this unit apart from others on the market is that it features something called, back off technology. For instance, when you release the tension on a standard ratchet strap they have a tendency to pop and release all the tension at once. This unique technology gives you the ability to release tension just like standard straps, as well as, to release tension gradually, step-by-step or click-by-click using the handle to do so.

A lot of standard ratchet mechanisms have three positions, a closed position, a ratcheting position, and a fully opened or unlocked position. This one offers those three, but it also offers an additional one, which is the back off technology position. When tension is applied you put it in this grove right here. Then you can use the handle to release tension click-by- click. It's a lot safer when it comes to releasing tension.

It's just overall an easier system to use compared to a standard ratcheting mechanism. Now the ratchet does have a nice large design to it. It's got an easy grip design. We have finger indentions right here. The release lever is right there within reach. These are coated by plastic.

Then the mechanism is steel, so it's nice, strong, and durable, but the plastic coating gives it an easy grip design. The large design allows us to get plenty of leverage and allows for easy use even if we have a pair of gloves on. The strap on the unit is made from a durable polyester webbing. It's yellow in color, so it's highly visible. It's very easy to see. The hooks are double J hooks for added strength and durability. They also have a nice vinyl coating on them to keep them from scratching anything they come into contact with. Now I will point out that this does have nice ratcheting motion to it. I don't feel any kinking or binding. Nice stitching on the unit as well. The strap measures 20 feet long and an inch and a half wide. The safe working load limit is 1,666 pounds, that's per strap. Maximum load or break strength is 5,000 pounds. That's going to do it for today's look at the Pro Grip Reversible Ratchet Tie Down Strap.

Great quality and service.

Excellent. What I like most is the safety release. I use this for lifting stacked washer and dryer into and out of closet installation..with a skyhook from the ceiling.

Just got them today, looks exactly as I figured. Should last many years, key for me was reversible racheting since I will be using them to hoist my Jeep hard top. Will visit again once system is in place. Thanks etrailer

by:

Woefully inadequate and slips under load. Only one side of the cam catches the ratchet placing all the strain on one latch pin. Caused my load to shift. I threw them out after first use because I didn’t want my employees to accidentally use them.

Ok let me say that I usually do not leave reviews however I was prompted to by etrailer thru an email to do so. Below is the email I wrote back to them stating why I did not write a review. Again I was prompted by etrailer. With the response I received back from them I thought is was appropriate to do so. Here is their response "I do apologize this product did not work for you. This being a year old I cant do much. Next time if you get a product and it breaks please give us a call to see if we can get the problem resolved for you right away."

"My email below"
Hello George. I would be happy to give a review but to be honest the ratcheting mechanism stopped working within two months. I have had many different straps in the past that stopped working and it usually could be fixed with some oil. This ratchet actually became misaligned and almost fell apart. I have never had one do that before. I simply threw that part into the metal scrap pile and found another ratchet to add to the strap side.
I may have had a faulty one or misused it in some way but I usually do not give bad feedback when I am not sure of the exact problem.

These work great for suspending a jeep hardtop

by:

Great customer service for returns and product replacement. Hassle free and prompt.
My initial shipment had some issues and they were quickly resolved.

by:

Doesn’t seem to work correctly
The reversible
latch is not smooth during operations and gets stuck more than it works.
I received one of two items that seemed like it had previously been opened

by:

Works as designed.
