  • Sturdy ratchet makes it easy to tighten down and maintain tension on the strap
    • Large bar handle provides solid grip
  • Back Off Technology (BOT) allows strap tension to be safely released

  • Coated double-J hooks provide strong, hassle-free connection to anchor points

  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 1,000 lbs
  • Maximum load (break strength): 3,000 lbs

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Back Off Technology Safely Releases Tension

Back Off Technology

This ratchet features Back Off Technology that lets you safely back the tension off step-by-step. This helps prevent sudden movement when removing the strap. Simply put the lever into the additional Back Off position and ratchet in reverse to release the tension.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the ProGrip Reversible Ratchet Tie-Down Strap. Now, this tie-down strap lets you easily secure cargo in your truck bed or trailer. The ratcheting mechanism makes it easy to tighten down the strap and maintain tension on the strap. All you have to do is place the strap over or around your load, connect the hooks to secure anchor points, pull any slack that you have out of the strap, so get it hand tight, and then you use the ratcheting mechanism to finish the tightening process and apply tension to the strap, which would then secure whatever it is that you're hauling. Now, the main thing that sets this ratchet apart from others is that reversible ratchet design also known as B.O.T. technology. That's back off technology.

So basically what happens, when you release tension on standard ratchet straps, they do have a tendency to pop and release all the tension at once. This mechanism gives you the ability to release tension just like standard straps, as well as to release tension gradually, step by step, click by click, using the handle to do so.So when there's tension applied to the unit and you want to remove the strap, you lift up on the release lever, and it slides back into this little indention. It's a little groove. So when tension's applied, you can actually use this ratcheting mechanism in this position to release tension step by step or click by click. It's a much safer way to release tension, so that way you don't get that pop, and the strap doesn't all release at once.So with standard ratcheting mechanisms, usually there's three positions.

You have the locked position, the fully open position, and then the ratcheting position. This mechanism has all those positions as well as that fourth position, which is for the back off technology. It's a really nice design. I do like the size of the ratcheting mechanism. It has an easy grip design, so it has finger indentions here so you can get a nice easy grip on it when you're operating it. Release lever is right there, right there within reach of your fingers so that way you can easily grab it and move it from position to position.

The ratcheting motion on it, really nice and fluid. I don't feel any kinking or binding. And the nice large handle design makes it very comfortable and easy to operate. Even if you have a pair of gloves on, you'll still be able to operate it no problem. Now, the strap itself is made from durable polyester webbing. The hooks as well as the mechanism here, these are made from steel.

Then it has plastic-coated handles on it, and then it all has protective finishing on it so you don't have to worry about rust or corrosion. Now, the hooks on this unit are a double-J hook design, so that increases the strength and durability of the hooks. And they're coated with a vinyl, so that way they don't scratch anything they come into contact with. This strap measures 16 feet long, an inch and a quarter wide, and the safe working load limit is 1000 pounds. The maximum load or break strength rating is 3000 pounds. That's going to do it for today's look at the ProGrip Reversible Ratchet Tie-Down Strap.

Ok let me say that I usually do not leave reviews however I was prompted to by etrailer thru an email to do so. Below is the email I wrote back to them stating why I did not write a review. Again I was prompted by etrailer. With the response I received back from them I thought is was appropriate to do so. Here is their response "I do apologize this product did not work for you. This being a year old I cant do much. Next time if you get a product and it breaks please give us a call to see if we can get the problem resolved for you right away."

"My email below"
Hello George. I would be happy to give a review but to be honest the ratcheting mechanism stopped working within two months. I have had many different straps in the past that stopped working and it usually could be fixed with some oil. This ratchet actually became misaligned and almost fell apart. I have never had one do that before. I simply threw that part into the metal scrap pile and found another ratchet to add to the strap side.
I may have had a faulty one or misused it in some way but I usually do not give bad feedback when I am not sure of the exact problem.

These work great for suspending a jeep hardtop

by:

Excellent. What I like most is the safety release. I use this for lifting stacked washer and dryer into and out of closet installation..with a skyhook from the ceiling.

by:

Tie down works
Custom service was great
George J and Chelsea D didn't forget my order and let my know what was going on with it and let me know when the tie-down I order a few months ago came in Thank You

by:

Woefully inadequate and slips under load. Only one side of the cam catches the ratchet placing all the strain on one latch pin. Caused my load to shift. I threw them out after first use because I didn’t want my employees to accidentally use them.

by:

Just got them today, looks exactly as I figured. Should last many years, key for me was reversible racheting since I will be using them to hoist my Jeep hard top. Will visit again once system is in place. Thanks etrailer

Doesn’t seem to work correctly
The reversible
latch is not smooth during operations and gets stuck more than it works.
I received one of two items that seemed like it had previously been opened

Great customer service for returns and product replacement. Hassle free and prompt.
My initial shipment had some issues and they were quickly resolved.

by:

Works as designed.

  • Ceiling Hoist to Help Lower 100 lb Canopy onto Truck
We have solutions to what you are looking for but the # 317-330600 was not designed to suspend items in the air and then slowly lower like you are wanting. What would be your most ideal solution would be a ceiling hoist like the part # DL10954. You'd need a cable like the part # DL24104 as well.
