Features to know about

Steady Steering on the Open Road: Nitrogen-Charged Gas Spring

Long drives shouldn’t feel like a workout. The Exact Center steering stabilizer uses a nitrogen-charged tandem gas spring that applies full force right when it’s needed, keeping steering tight and predictable. Instead of letting your rig wander before correcting itself, this system prevents unwanted movement altogether, so crosswinds, ruts, and road edges don’t have you constantly fighting the wheel.

Confidence Through Wind and Traffic: Keeps You Centered

When gusts or passing trucks push against the body, the stabilizer helps keep everything pointed straight. By holding the steering centered, it maintains control in conditions that usually cause drift or pull. The result is less steering correction and a smoother, calmer experience mile after mile.

Stronger by Design: Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Build

This is a setup built for the demands of big rigs. The stabilizer’s heavy-duty, stainless steel construction stands up to high-mileage use and harsh conditions without flexing or corroding. It’s engineered for vehicles with a GVWR of 22,000 lbs and above, giving you solid support where it counts.

Simple, Secure Install: Custom Brackets and No Drilling

No need to cut or weld anything. The Exact Center uses factory axle bracket holes on one end and the tie rod location on the other. It comes with custom mounting brackets and all necessary hardware, so the installation is straightforward and solid from the start.

Note

It's important that worn steering components are addressed before installing this kit. If you have a lighter chassis but feel you're pushing the weight limit for a lower-rated steering stabilizer, this heavy-duty Exact Center will work for lighter applications.

Video Transcript for Review of Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bars - Steering Stabilizer - RM92RR

Hello, every buddy. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Roadmaster Exact Center steering stabilizer with the custom mounting brackets for motor homes. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2006 to 2018 Freightliner XC Chassis motor homes with the solid front axle. And it will not work on the XCR Chassis.

It will also work on the 2016 and newer Freightliner XC Chassis V-Ride motor home. And again, no XCR Chassis. On a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide. Put in your year, model, vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now, this is an exact center stabilizer.

It works better than other steering stabilizer because it's always working to prevent unwanted movement. Whereas the other stabilizers react to movement, this exact center works to prevent it. Other steering stabilizers will slowly activate to control the steering. Only after your motor home has already begun to wonder or make a turn. Basically, other steering stabilizers are reactive which means they fight against unwanted movement but only after the movement has already started.

They'll get your RV back in line and absorb shock while doing so, but they still allow some play in the steering because of their soft centers, which can cause the steering to feel spongy. So this Raodmaster's Exact Center Stabilizers is proactive. It uses a nitrogen charged tandem gas spring on the inside that applies full force right when you need it. This will help prevent the unwanted wondering and the white knuckling that you'll typically get when driving your RV. The stabilizer prevents your motor home from wandering, improves the steering, keeps your RV centered, taking the fight outta your steering.

And it'll help maintain control over your RV during cross winds, rut tracking, and even road edging. It is a bolt on installation. There's no drilling or welding required for installation. Does use the factory axle bracket holes on one end. The tie rod location on the other end includes the mounting brackets or the mounting hardware to install everything. Even has a nice set of instructions. It'll describe how this goes together. Now the stabilizer itself is a heavy duty stainless steel construction. It is made in the USA. Now this is designed to work with motor homes with a gross vehicle weight rating of 22,000 pounds and above. And one last note, as kit is designed to work with a suspension system that is in good working order. But that should do it for the review on the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer with the custom mounting brackets for motor homes..

Do not like how it handles with the center steer

Speaking for myself, and in all honesty from my opinion and with experience using Exact Center Steering Stabilizer. Driving with the ECSS, I’ve found it will be useful on my Jeep being towed. I have several thousand miles on my Jeep, and found city driving okay, but steering you must keep your hands on the wheel. This also goes even more so on the highway. Just returned from a long trip out west to Yellowstone NP, towing a very small camper, and it was very difficult at times when driving only 65-70 mph, with special focus when on the highway when the highway makes direction turns, and really white knuckle both hands on wheel when the road isn’t smooth. As it turns out, on July 2, 2025, I removed the ECSS, and replaced with a normal steering stabilizer, and realize it’s much better, both city and highway driving. I also realize I shot over $400 on something I believed would work better, and I was wrong. The ECSS, may be good when your vehicle is towed, maybe even better on a smooth race track, but on my Jeep, it’s actually unsafe in my opinion and from my experience. I’m thinking more testing is needed, along with additional engineering with adjustments before I would spend that kind of money and knowing it will work first before wasting my money again. Long story short, I had focus on my driving the entire 4000 miles practically with white knuckles way too much, and because of this I missed most of the scenery with is the first time almost thats ever happened. Only bad weather did that before, and a damaged tie rod. I would not recommend the product to anyone, with the exceptions mentioned above. It’s not worth the amount I had to pay, and a mistake buying it. Hopefully you’re honest enough to accept my honesty and truth as I have experienced.
Regards,
Steve

This it the second Roadmaster stabilizer I have purchased from Etrailer. Other was for our older 2011 motorhome and after having it I did not want to drive without 1. This is different than prior unit- big factor is so much lighter and easy to adjust, so far working perfectly…

by:

I stopped short of 5 stars because the instructions could be a lot clearer.

by:

Easy to install if you have the right tools, 3/4" torque wrench etc. Seems to be doing the job on smooth roads, our roads are terribly rutted and lots of frost heaves. Did not have to adjust after install.

by:

I installed the exact center myself. It took me about an hour due to a couple rusty bolts. Test Robin on some side roads and the main road today and I love it. Keeps me on the lane. I don’t have to play the wheel back-and-forth constantly. It doesn’t pop back to center as quuck as I thought it would, but maybe I just gotta get used to it. Definitely an improvement for a long trip.

by:

The motorhome drives so much easier now. I would recommend this if your on the fence.

by:

This has improved the steering significantly for our 2021 Jayco Redhawk 25R! It's almost incredible how much better it is. Can now hold the steering with one hand and does not pull in one direction. Huge improvement!

by:

Supper easy install takes about 1 1/2 hours and most definitely made a difference in the steering input and holding the road is definitely improved.

by:

I will have to wait until next year to install the stabilizer. I had to have the kingpins replaced in the Ford front end at 13,500 miles because parts were left out at the factory. We were not able to use the motorhome much this year.

by:

Made a world of difference. Installed on a Class C RV and was a marked improvement over the anemic OEM “steering stabilizer.” Very little adjustment required.

by:

Super easy install on a 2019 Leprechaun 319MB ,Class C RV. Hardest part was taking off the old hardware. Followed the instructions and test drove at 60mph and it drove totally straight and did not have to make any micro adjustments. A very well made product.

by:

Best investment I have made on this Motorhome. So much easier to drive and keep in it's lane.

by:

I had the road master exact center steering stabilizer installed on my RV and tried it out and it was perfect driving and maintaining position on the road way with out drifting. Although my tow vehicle was not connected I thought it felt good without out it a believe it will be fine.

by:

We installed the Roadmaster steering stabilizer on our 2018 Thor Chateau 24F motorhome. The drifting issue we'd experienced was significantly improved making driving easier and less stressful.

Great product! My installer Martins Auto Tech did a fantastic job!!! Jeff Martin the owner took the extra time to make sure everything was aligned correctly and took the time to explain why he liked the product we chose from etrailer! If i ever needed or will need any work done to my RV. I would use etrailer and Jeff Martins Auto Tech in Hollywood Maryland! Btw your source page led us to Martins Auto Tech with great reviews! Thank you again!

This one of the best if not the best exact center steering stabilizer on the market. Steering my 38 foot class A gas motorhome is simply a breeze. I use to fight my steering wheel to keep my motorhome straight on every type of road. I use to brace and prepare to input multiple steering corrections whenever a Semi truck was about to pass me. With my exact center steering stabilizer installed plus the addition of air bags (front and rear) driving my motorhome is now as easy as driving my F-150 super duty. The exact center steering stabilizer alone improved all of the white knuckle constant steering adjustments i was experiencing. The air bags prevent the side to side movements from cross winds and when a Semi truck passes my motorhome. The vast improvement is the same with or without the toad. This was by far the most cost effective, easily installed, and immediate improvement I have made to my 2015 Coachmen Encounter 37LS Motorhome.

by:

First road trip with our new Integra Odyssey from New York to Key West. It was a nightmare driving this thing down south! Ordered this Roadmaster and had it shipped to my friend's house in Florida. We installed it in about an hour and it is a night and day difference. Sway is almost completely gone and you can let go of the wheel and it stays centered. No more white knuckle driving!

by:

Item arrived quickly the video on the site actually helped with the installation and it was very simple, installation is on a 2023 Nexus Wraith 34w on the international MV 670 chassis

by:

The Exact Center Stabilizer itself is very good. The bracket that was sent only worked on one side of vehicle. Instruction say it is universal for either side mounting. That is incorrect for the kit I received. The stabilizer itself would have fit better on my 2022 F53 if it were about 2 inches longer.

Have not made a journey as of yet but so far feels nice.

Etrailer has competitive pricing, good quality products and great tech support. I like the way they review many of the products that they sell.

I installed the Roadmaster Steering Stabilizer RM92RR about 1 year ago. It does help my 2016 Allegro AA drive better. Wind gusts do not push me around as much and I find the RV tracks better and is more relaxing to drive.

by:

Sarah in Customer Service was awesome. She did an exceptional job helping me find the right part. I will let you know how installation goes in a day or two.
