The vacuum breaker lets you attach a handheld shower set (sold separately) to make cleaning mud and sand off the kids, pets, and shower walls even easier. The vacuum breaker also has an anti-siphon device - a small air hole that drains water back out of the hose to prevent your dirty shower water from contaminating your clean water supply.
To install, use the inlet shanks to drop the new valve and deck plate in place of your existing valve. Then hand-tighten the included mounting nuts against the back of the wall, and connect the hot and cold water lines. You'll need to keep some tub and tile caulk (not included) on hand to help prevent any leaking.

Hello neighbors, I'm Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at this Phoenix Faucet Catalina RV Shower Valve, and in that black finish. Now folks, this Catalina series shower valve will let you upgrade the valve in your RV or camper bathroom and has a built-in vacuum breaker to allow you to attach a handheld shower set that could be purchased separately. I'll throw an item up as just one option, part number PF276026. Again, you can purchase that separately. That would simply thread onto the front of this guy right here and give you a handheld shower set.
Now as I mentioned, the vacuum breaker is gonna prevent backflow contamination of your clean water supply and the dual handle design with the levered handles will let you do a one quarter turn and it's gonna enable the faucet to fully turn on and off with just a quarter turn, so a nice addition when it's there in the shower. So keep in mind, most likely it's gonna be mounted on the wall, something like this view, and then your shower hose would come down. Now the washerless design will reduce friction and daily wear for long lasting durability. And it's a non metallic ABS plastic construction with that matte black finish. Now it has what's called spin welded Celcon thermoplastic underbody.
So that's all this plastic pieces here. I'm gonna go ahead and remove it. Comes with both of these little locking, I'm gonna call 'em nuts. They're plastic just like most of your faucets that you get inside your home nowadays. Everything is like a plastic material.
You get these little rubber washers and you have the plate here. Now with that off, you can kind of see the whole body here inside. This is where your water's mixing, turn hotter, cold, and it's shooting out through the hose accordingly. Now you do need to purchase and get separately some tile and tub caulk to install this. It's recommended, it may not be required.
Just need to read the instructions, make sure you're matching up the instructions with what you're doing to ensure you're getting it installed correctly. No one ever wants to have any leaks or anything like that. Now again, this is a wall mount two hole installation with the included deck plate and hardware that I just showed you. And the inlet shanks have a standard male NPSM connections. Now I'm gonna pop up an image here with dimensions on it for you. Fucet body leaks when shower head is switched to off position. Turn on shower head and leak stops but poor pressure.

Product was as described. Easy install if you have basic skills. Product was a nice upgrade to the old faucet due to no tub/shower diverter which will save me water when dry camping (water always runs through the faucet even when using the shower wand).
The cold water knob on the shower faucet in my travel trailer failed and was unusable. No one locally had a correct replacement with a vacuum breaker. I found a correct replacement on etrailer and they had it in stock in house and it shipped to me on the day I ordered it. What a wonderful and easy solution. Thank you etrailer.
product seemed to be of lower quality, but was expected for the price that i decided to pay. Delivered in a timely manner, easy install, no leaks at this time. Might spend more money on the next one, next time, to get a little better quality if that is possible in the RV Parts Industry. etrailer is a great place to shop for parts.
The portion that the supply line threads on to was not quite as long as that of the original so made it a little more difficult (not impossible) to get fingers back there to thread supply lines on. Other than that I think this will serve us well.

Easy to install and works great
We recieved this product yesterday and just installed it. I cannot comment on its longevity due to that, but after using it, I gotta say it is a definite improvement to the factory install in our camper, both in looks AND function. Also, we upgraded our shower head to Oxygenics Body Spa and the brushed nickel of this faucet matches the brushed nickel shower head PERFECTLY! Very happy with this.
