Replace the standard waste valve on your RV's black-water tank with this electric one so that you can open and close the valve with the flip of a switch. Light comes on when valve is open. Wiring harness and 2 switch plates included.

The switch plate, wiring, seals, and hardware needed to install this electric waste valve on your RV's black water tank are included. The switch plate installs in the RV's control panel. The waste valve secures to existing pipes using ABS solvent cement (A05-0303 - sold separately). A booklet with step-by-step instructions and a template for drilling are also included.
You can also adapt the valve to work with your gray-water tank. A gray switch plate is included for that purpose. For this installation, you will need to use adapters (sold separately) to convert the valve opening from 3" to 1-1/2" in diameter.
If you're dry camping or in the case of a power failure, the manual override is easy to use. Simply remove the pin from the valve's lift arm and turn the handle 90 degrees clockwise. Then pull the handle to open the valve.

I change a existing cable valve with this electric waste valve , the only bad situation was to work under the RV .
The valve work great .
Except for having to make some minor modifications to my flanges (they were bowed out between the bolt holes) so the actuators were clearing the flange, the install was easy. The flange issue is not the valve manufacturers fault, just how the flange was made. My old valves were cable style and cheap and these will be a great upgrade on Leaky crappy valves. I was tired of getting the sewer surprise every time I dumped. etrailer delivered on time and at a good value.
Nice valve for remote operation . The wiring is 4 ft from switch to motor/valve, and 3 ft of wire for power. I replaced power wire with a 10 ft piece which was only $9 bucks. Take pic of switch wiring cause you need to remove wires from switch to pass wires through any holes you drill in floor and cabinets, etc . Watch out for water , electric wires when drilling holes. Hole needs to be at least 1/2”for wire ends to pass through. If wood is thick I would do 5/8” hole . Pass big wire ends through first and smaller next. Or cut wire ends off and recrimip new ends after running wires.
Installation was easy…. Getting to them was the hard part.
Taking down the underbelly was less than fun. Cutting holes in it was even a worse idea.
But, installation went well. Great product, super fast open and close, easy to wire and made my own console for the switches which wasn’t hard either.
Had to put them in different directions due to the main sewer drain being in the way but the auto gate valves do not care which way they go, they work fine either way. Just hope they last as I really don’t like working on my back….

I had to replace and old valve that had jammed on me. The original valve was installed about 4 years earlier. When they work they are great. when they don't, the sewers back up. I had to manually open up the old valve in order to flush the tank before replacement.
Fits properly, performs excellent. It would awesome if they would make a way to have 2 switches, one inside and one outside.

A very useful valve, hope it works better than the last one! The last one of these had the plastic break where it opens the valve. This new one seems to be different, hope it's stronger! Just wish it wasn't the black tank! etrailer was especially helpful with a UPS problem but got a new one out to us right away. Very nice people to deal with!

I decided it was time to install the 12-volt Black Water tank valve. Before doing the install I used RV seal Lubricant and installed it at a 45-degree angle.
It is my opinion that a 45-degree installation will help the life of the valve.
I'm very impressed by the quality build of the unit.
I am very happy with the Valtera product. Etrailer is typically a very good supplier. But this is the reason for the 3 star average review. First, I think my valves were returns from someone else’s order. Not all of the hardware was included. The mounting screws and the grey tank valve switch plate (as seen in the product photo) missing. I reached out customer service and they sent a lame response saying they do not sell those items separately. OK you missed the point. So at the end of the day I paid about double for the ones I got in 2021 got less, and lame customer service. Hence an average rating, as that pretty much how things are now days. The Valterra valves work great and were easy to install.
