Features to know about

Covers Large Spaces Without Jumping to a Whole-House Unit

Eva-Dry Electric Large Dehumidifier

Damp air doesn't stay contained in larger rooms, and small dehumidifiers can't keep up. This dehumidifier's suited for spaces up to 2,400 cubic feet, so it's built for larger areas where moisture builds across the whole space. You can run it where humidity spreads out instead of chasing musty pockets from corner to corner.

Dial In Humidity and Fan Speed Instead of Guessing

Eva-Dry Desiccant Humidifier

Leaving a dehumidifier on one setting can over-dry one day and fall behind the next. The built-in humidistat lets you set your target humidity and fan speed, so you can tune the output to the conditions you're dealing with. You'll keep the space steadier without constantly fiddling with controls.

Tank Capacity for Daily Use, Drain Hose for Longer Runs

Emptying a tank gets old fast when you're running a unit in a larger space. Water collects in a 1.8 liter tank, and the included 3' drain hose gives you a way to route water out instead of pulling the tank each time. You can choose between quick emptying or a longer-running setup based on where you've got it placed.

Moisture Removal Rated for Hot, Humid Conditions

Humidity can spike hard in heat, and vague performance claims don't tell you what'll happen when it gets sticky. This unit's rated to remove 25 oz a day when average temperatures are at 86 degrees F and relative humidity is at 80 percent or above. You'll have a real baseline for what it can pull when conditions are working against you.

Runs in Cooler Operating Temps for Shoulder Seasons

Some spaces stay damp even when it's not full summer heat. This dehumidifier operates from 45 to 104 degrees F, so it can keep running when temperatures dip lower. You can keep pulling moisture instead of waiting for warmer weather to deal with it.

Video Transcript for Eva-Dry Large Electric Dehumidifier Review– Performance, Pros & Cons

Hey, everyone, I'm Evie Angeline right here at etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at the Eva-Dry 2400 Dehumidifier. This is gonna be a mid-size electric dehumidifier. Great for if you need to have moisture control in your RV, your living room, your motor home, your little trailers where something that is able to pull in a lot of moisture from the air, but still stay quiet and still stay compact. So we'll take a look at some of its different features here and we'll talk about what is actually the best fit for you and where you're going. The first thing you need to figure out is why do you need a dehumidifier Oftentimes people are trying to work with moisture control for different areas of their motor home, their trailer.

A big example is gonna be the bedroom area. There's a Murphy bed right over here, and you always have to be conscious about where the mattress meets the bed frame because overnight, you, as you sleep and you exhale, release a lot of moisture in the air, and you'll make sure that that's managed, that mold and mildew do not grow. And it's gonna be the same thing for your bathroom area or for where you store food. More or too much moisture isn't quite a good thing for longer shelf life or comfort. One of my favorite things about this specific dehumidifier is that it has an integrated humidistat.

So this is the humidity that this dehumidifier senses around it, and it says 64 right now. I can set my preferred humidity level and we want to stay between the 30 to 60 relative humidity number. Now, oftentimes for best comfort, 60 is a good one to shoot for. Now it does have its own fan in there moving the air through, but for your best experience, you wanna set this up in a well-ventilated area. The airflow intake spots are gonna be in the front and the back you can see the holes as well as up top.

Your airflow output is going to be along the sides. Now, a dehumidifier and an air conditioner, while they share many similar parts, they don't work quite the exact same way. This may sometimes feel like it's blowing out cold air, but at other times it may blow out hot air. So you wanna use this in conjunction with your air conditioner if you want a cooler time. With the main goal of the dehumidifier being to pull the moisture out of the air, it collects all that water into either the tank reservoir, or you can drain it out using the hose to another location.

This tank has the capacity of 1.8 liters, and we've had this running for an hour or so. It actually hasn't accumulated much water just because the humidity isn't as high in the trailer. But if you are working at full capacity, and you can double check our website for the temperature and the humidity numbers there, this can pull as much as 25 ounces a day, which in our reality is a lot. And with that reservoir capacity, you may find yourself emptying this about every other day if it's working full blast. Whenever I go camping in a trailer, it's usually one owned by one of my friends, and they're always mindful of what's plugged in, and how long it's plugged in, and how much power does that product draw So with the dehumidifier usually running throughout the night, it comes with its own cord as well as its power adapter. This whole thing is gonna be about 10 feet long, so plenty of room to work with. And on the site or from Eva-Dry, it says that it has a 60-watt power draw, but when I have checked it with our power station here, it does usually run around 75-70 watts. So not that big of a difference. It definitely is lower compared to your heavy-duty compressor-style dehumidifiers, but still numbers you might wanna consider if you're gonna have this running all night. And speaking of sleeping, if you're the type of person that likes white noise throughout the night or fan noise, well, let's do a sound comparison of this on, off, as well as in sleep fan mode. So bringing the microphone over to our dehumidifier: (dehumidifier whirring) (button clicks) There it is, off. (button clicks) (dehumidifier whirring) Here it is on. (dehumidifier whirring) (button clicks) And there's the lower fan speed. (dehumidifier whirring) So what is the right fit for you Well, I always say when it comes to dehumidifiers, just get the largest one you can. It's better to have lower humidity than it is to have an overworked machine that can't handle the humidity of the Midwest or Florida or wherever you might be going. However, you also have to consider space and what you have it focused on, things like that. So there are options that are a lot smaller than this mid-size humidifier here available at etrailer, as well as ones that don't need to be powered and you can just stick into your closets or your bathroom and they'll work passively on their own. You can also get the large rotary one, which has about 10 times more moisture-absorbing capacity than your mid-size one. So it pulls in 10 times more moisture from the air at even lower temperatures. However, this actually does not have its own humidistat incorporated into the dehumidifier, and that right there was the difference for me. I personally want something easy, I don't wanna have to get anything extra, and I wanted to know that it can work well on its own for my camper trailer motor home space. And this does. So if you need a little bit extra, you do have those options here at etrailer. If you're not sure what you need, you can always give us a call or send us a question. We love helping people out on their journeys. But if you want an all-in-one package that does a great job at managing moisture inside your motor home or trailer, has its own humidistat and is super duper easy to use, well, this right here was a look at the Eva-Dry 2400 Dehumidifier at etrailer.com. My name's Evie Angeline. I hope you enjoyed this journey.

  • Will the Eva-Dry Electric Large Dehumidifier Automatically Turn Back on After Power Outage?
Hey Kevin, thanks for reaching out! The Eva-Dry Electric Large Dehumidifier w/ Humidistat # ED44FR will shut off in a power outage situation, and you'll need to power it back on manually. If you go with the larger Eva-Dry Large Desiccant Dehumidifier # ED64FR, this one DOES have the auto-restart feature so you can set it and then only worry about it when you need to empty it. The last thing anyone wants to do after a power outage is go around and make sure everything is back up and running...

  • Can The Eva-Dry Electric Large Dehumidifier w/ Humidistat Work on a 12 VDC
Thanks for your question, Robert. The Eva-Dry Electric Large Dehumidifier w/ Humidistat part # ED44FR wouldn't be compatible with a 12 VDC. It comes with a power adapter so that you can plug it into a 120v AC wall outlet. I searched to see if there was anything that would be compatible with a 12v dc and currently we don't have have anything that will.
