Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the Camco RV Antifreeze Hand Pump w/ City Water Connection Hose

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Camco RV Antifreeze Hand Pump, part number CAM36003. This hand pump lets you pump antifreeze directly into your RV's waterlines. The flexible hose connects to the city water connection, and the plastic tube reaches to the bottom of the antifreeze container to avoid waste. A faucet adapter, part number CAM40083, can be purchased separately to pump antifreeze through an indoor faucet. Now we'll go ahead and show you how to use it. We'll take our clear hose, we'll attach it to our fresh water inlet, get it nice and snug. Then we're going to attach it to our pump, to the side here. Once we've got that attached, we'll take our next hose, and put it on the bottom.

Before you start pumping the antifreeze, you need to make sure that your inaudible 00:00:51 valve is closed. That'll force the antifreeze through your system, and not out the bottom of your RV. Now, we're going to start with the kitchen faucet first. I've gone ahead and opened the hot side only. We'll stick it down in the bucket, and then start pumping.

We're going to pump it until we see antifreeze coming out of the kitchen faucet. Now, if it leaks a little bit that's okay, it's not harming anything. We'll repeat the same process, alternating hot and cold, for all of our remaining faucets. Be sure to close the previous faucet. Now we've got some antifreeze leftover. That's okay, because we need to pour some into our sinks and shower drain, about two pints in each.

If you have an ice maker, a washing machine, or an external shower, those will also need to be winterized. You can find information on how to do that in your appliance manuals. That's going to complete our look at the Camco RV Antifreeze Hand Pump, part number CAM36003.

This pump works, but it takes a major force to push antifreeze into the plumbing on my trailer. Hurts my hands. I'm probably going to rig a 12-volt electric pump to run off my battery for the next winterization effort.

Great company with great products

Not impressed. Did not last past 2 uses. Pull handle stripped where handle screws into top of manual pump. Good thing I bought an extra at that time. Have since bought a 12v pump, it works great.
Have always been very happy with all my
etrailer.com purchases, however, this item, I was not pleased with the quality.
