go power pre-wired automatic transfer switch

This transfer switch has been pre-wired to automatically change the primary source of AC current from inverter to shore power to conserve battery life. To prevent electrical interruptions, the time delay circuit board allows the alternate power source to stabilize before a transfer occurs. Additionally, since the switch only accepts one active source, it protects your electrical system from dangerous backfeed that can damage your equipment.

Quick, Easy Wiring

transfer switch wiring

The transfer switch includes an inverter output plug and converter charger input receptacle that help speed up installation time. The converter input is only active when shore power is available, ensuring the converter does not use battery power for charging.

Automatic Transfer Switch Installation

There are several wiring configuration options, depending on the electrical application inside your RV. With this quick connect version, you can easily plug into the inverter and converter charger with no wiring required. However, it does need to be wired to the AC panel and shore power input.

cord knockouts

The plastic case also has cord knockouts for other connections.

Wiring Example

transfer wiring example

In this wiring example, the transfer switch selects between the inverter and shore power (or an on-board generator). The converter is also capable of charging the batteries while shore power is active. Lastly, the AC panel is powered by either the inverter or shore power, depending on which is currently providing power at the time.

I purchased this 30A transfer switch for a rebuild of my son's 1985 GMC Vantura campervan. It was easy to install and works great! I would highly recommend this transfer switch to anyone with the need that this device provides.

I installed this Go Power Auto Transfer Switch in a 1999 Ford E350 ambulance camper conversion last year to switch between the 30 amp shore power and a 2000 watt inverter to power the electrical outlets for things like the microwave, laptop, CPAP, etc. Wiring it in was easy; you have a primary input which is what it will normally use first (the shore power), a secondary input (the inverter) which it uses if there is no primary power, and the output, which is wired into the breaker panel. It is 100% set-and-forget once you install it.

by:

I asked for advice regarding adding a auto transfer switch in my Fifthwheel and I receive very professional and personal help. The product arrived on time and in excellent condition. Following the agent's suggestions I had no problem installing this product.
I appreciate being able to call for support and be able to understand the person I'm talking with.

I used this in my a-frame camper to allow me to power all of the electrical systems using either the shore power plug or the 3k inverter running on our lithium batteries. It was fairly easy to set up and get working quickly. It has allowed us to camp almost anywhere, RV parks with full hookups to boondocking in the mountains. I do recommend this product for similar situations.

The install was easy and it is working as expected.

  • Solution for Charging Lithium RV Batteries with Parallax 7345 Panel
Hey John, you'd need a new panel like the Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini part # PD4045KA which is the most similar to your Parallax 7345 except is Lithium battery compatible. There isn't a lower section replacement available for what you have that would allow it to work with lithium batteries. You would not need to change your current transfer switch or add an additional one.

  • How Does Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 34270278 Connect to Shore Power and Inverter
The Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 34270278 that you are interested in was designed to automatically switch power sources between an inverter or an AC power source. You'd want to run the inverter you have now to this as well as the power source wiring from shore power and this would automatically take care of your AC power needs/switching. Basically your battery would connect to the inverter, the inverter to the # 34270278 and then the # 34270278 to your fuse panel. This does not...

  • What Replacement Inverter Should I Get for My 300 Watt WIN-12/300 including Options I and T?
Yes, the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter - GFCI - 400 Watt - 12V # 34282692 is the best replacement that we have for your 300 watt WIN-12/300, including Options I and T. The Option I is for the remote that you have, so you are going to want to add the Remote for Go Power Pure Sine Wave Inverters - 150 to 3,000 Watt - 12V and 24V # 34266886. The Option T is for the automatic transfer switch, so you will also need the Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch with Quick Connect Cables...

  • Transfer Switch for 2000 Excel With Solar and Generator
It really depends on your setup. More than likely your inverter isn't delivering 30 amps so a transfer switch like the # 342GPTS wouldn't work. It won't recognize anything under 30 so you would still have to switch back and forth yourself. 30 amp is also the lowest we carry. If it is delivering 30 amps then this would work for your application.

For your AC power Setup and Air Conditioner additions, I recommend the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Ceiling Vent and Start Capacitor # ACM135C. This air conditioner will allow you to simply cut a 14-1/4 by 14-1/4 inch square hole (standard roof vent size) where you want to mount the unit. • Is There a Transfer Switch That Can Take Input From Shore Power, Generator and Inverter Power?
With a transfer switch like the Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 342GPTS you would have to use a second Transfer Switch # PD5110010Q to connect 2 of the three sources. Your shore power cord could also be used with a separate plug in for a generator connection(This is how several RV's are from the factory), as you only have 2 inputs. Since there is not a single unit that can take power from 3 sources and have one output. We have the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger...

  • Does Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 342GPTS Have Internal Fuse and Wire Gauge to Use

  • Troubleshooting Low Power from Shore to Transfer Switch
It sounds like you have a short in your Power Cord wiring as there isn't anything between the power cord and the Go Power Transfer Switch # 34270278 as they are directly wired. I've attached a video of the Go Power Transfer Switch - Quick Connect - 30 Amp # 342GPTS which shows these connections. If you don't use and in-line circuit breaker like # CAM55306 then there has to be an issue with the wiring or the ground on the transfer switch itself.

  • How Does An Automatic Transfer Switch Work And How Do You Wire It In With An Inverter
You can manually turn off power from your inverter before switching on your shore power, but most people find this tedious and you'll have a delay in power while you switch over. With an automatic transfer switch like the Go Power # 342GPTS all the work is done for you so that when you hook up to shore power it will automatically cut the power from your inverter and when you disconnect from shore power the it will switch back over to the inverter. There's also a time delay built into...
