Keeping your RV floors clean has never been easier than with the Sand Away. Installation of this step cover requires no tools and no hard work. Simply place the cover over the bottom step of your camper or RV and secure it in place using the included hooked springs. The Sand Away will then trap any sand, dirt, or grit from the soles of your shoes as you wipe off your feet on the step. Never again worry about tracking grime into your RV. When it's time to clean the step cover, simply spray down the Astroturf-like material with a hose and you are ready to use it again.

Today, we're going to be taking a look at part number SASSA10-00. This is the Safety Step Sand Away Dirt Trapping Step Cover. The step cover is going to scrape dirt and grime off the bottoms of your shoes as you walk up the steps into your RV or camper. It's going to keep your floor looking nice. It's going to keep the interior of your RV or camper because it's going to keep all the unwanted stuff outside where it belongs. Installation of the unit is very quick and easy, does not require any tools and it does not require much effort. It's going to come with your 2 hook springs to secure the cover onto your step.
It's going to feature AstroTurf like material, very strong and durable, and it's very easy to clean simply by spraying it down with a water hose. Now, when it comes to the size step that this will fit, it's designed to fit steps, all steps 22-1/2 inches long by 10-3/8 of an inch wide. We're going to go over the actual measurements real quick, so measuring edge to edge, we can see that it's going to measure at 22-1/2 inches. If we measure the width from edge to edge, we can see that that's going to give us a measurement of about 10-1/2 inches. Now, when it comes to the installation, very simple. It's going to come with these tabs.
These tabs are going to go through these slots. Now, the tabs are going to work as the anchor points for the springs to connect to, so they go through here, and then once you have all these installed, it'll be time to place the cover over your step, so you place this over your step and then on the bottom side, you secure it with the hook springs. Place one in there, the other in there, do it for the other side, and that would secure it around the RV or camper step. That's going to do it for today's look at part number SASSA10-00.

I ordered the safety step on two occasions. The first one was great and worked perfectly. Unforunately, the second ones I ordered, though they looked the same, evidently was not from the same manufacter. They were not the same quality and the front edge tore off of the step. Rather than go thru the hassle of sending them back, I glued them back on and then secured the cover to the actual step. A bit disappointing.

This is the 2nd winter we have used this cover and it has held up great. It is easier to attach and detach to the steps than the carpeted covers. It helps knock off mud and dirt that normally would be brought into the trailer.
We highly recommend this step cover.

Love that this mat is formed to my RV step. Good quality and should keep most of the dirt out. Mine was missing the mounting hardware but received it in 4 days after notifying etrailer.com with their 800 number. I would buy again when I need one.

Good product. Connection to the step isn't as tight as tight as I'd like but took 30 seconds to install. Will still save save a lot of dirt from coming in from on the bottom of my boots. Seems like it'll last a few years for a weekend warrior. eTrailer also knocked the shipping and service out of the park. They called to verify an odd, "unverifiable" campsite address and made sure they had it shipped same day. Had it in less than 48hrs.

the item is great but please secure the springs and clips better. that plastic that you wrap them in is not working, they open too easily in the box.

This works great to help keep dirt and gravel out of the camper I bought one and tried it and bought another one for the middle step It is very easy to install but it has to be removed when you want to fold up the steps

Works perfect for my foldaway steps on Genesis supreme toyhauler. And as for hurting feet like some other reviews have said ,these are to clean shoes and boots not feet lol. Also don't have to remove to fold steps on my trailer. Great product!!!!

Adhesive holding mat down could not deal with a south Texas summer. I have two and they’re both loose in spots. So if in the heat save your money, it will just come up. Otherwise it keeps the outside outside. Sand and dirt stay on the mat.

I will not use them till spring but checked and they fit perfectly. Going on the first step of a Northern Lite, which has a fold-up step. In the up position, will have to be careful of the spring connector as the step can be used in both positions. Camp on the beach and will definitely be used to keep a lot of sand out.

Awesome product. However, on my Freedom Express, you cannot close the steps with this product installed. Whether on the 1st or 2nd step. The bristles are too thick. But it's OK with us. We merely remove it when we break camp.
