A/C works great. Easy install.

Worked great. Easy install

Great AC/Heat Pumps unit, much more efficient and quieter than my old Dometic AC.
I would have liked there to be a mounting option that didn't require an air distribution box as my Fifth-Wheel does not have one, which created a complication during install. Aside from that, the install was fine, and it's been running well.

We replaced the standard GE A/C on our '22 Grand Design 22MLE with this after the Wago connector shorted out and caused a fire in the unit's control box. I probably didn't need to replace the whole unit because the damage was confined to just the control box and the wires to the A/C were spared.
The replacement went really smoothly. We used a ladder leaned on the roof of the camper at a low slope and made a plywood "sled" with blocks on the side to keep it on the ladder to pull the units up and down from the roof.
There was a glitch where the DC fuse to the unit was blown (they were mislabeled) and two white wires were tucked up in the unit that need to connect to the control box. GE tech help was very patient and understanding in helping me figure it out.
The people at etrailer are very nice and I do most of my business with them. They are always very knowledgeable of the products and make sure you get the right product.
The GE Heat Pump works great in all modes.

NOTE: We just installed the SoftStartRV from eTrailer and the unit is much quieter on start-up now. I suggest just getting it with the heat pump.
We are running the camper on a Craftsman 2500 watt generator (Generac) now.

Can't really let you know of the product until I put it on the roof. I can only hope it lasts and outperforms it predecessor which only made it 2 years and 6-7 uses. Very disappointing. As for the assistance from the etrailer staff, it was fantastic. Great advice and all had uplifting personalities. Thank you.

Package showed up on time and works better than the one it replaced when it was new.

  • Is the 15K Btu GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC the Same as AR15AACW
Hey Vince, thanks for reaching out! Yes, the GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC # GE64FR is the same as the AR15AACW, just in black instead of white. Let me know if you have any other questions!

  • Is a New Thermostat Required When Installing a GE AC Unit?
Hey Tim, thanks for reaching out! If you're replacing a GE AC unit, then the GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC # GE64FR will work with your thermostat, but if you're replacing a different brand of AC with this GE, then we'll need to get you a whole kit. You'll need the kit # GE35ZR if you have a ducted system (like in your house) or the kit # GE72ZR if you have a ductless system. What AC unit are you replacing?

  • Solution for Needing Replacement GE Upper RV AC Unit ARC15AACBL2
Hey Todd, so you will need to replace your entire system unfortunately because your system is currently using an outdated refrigerant and the current upper unit replacements will not work with your lower vent assembly because of this. As of January of 25' all AC units have to be used with the current refrigerant and are not backwards compatible. So what you'd want is the part # GE34RR which comes with everything and is a 15k BTU black GE AC unit like you are looking for.

  • Will Current GE Deluxe Plus RV AC Unit Replace Older Model
Hey Cameron, the GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC # GE64FR that you referenced is very similar to what you have but since there was a law change that requires a new refrigerant your current lower vent assembly would not work with this unit or any other unit made currently so you'd need to replace the entire thing like with the part # GE35ZR for a ducted setup or the part # GE72ZR for a ductless setup.

  • Can Dometic Duo Therm RV AC Unit be Replaced with GE Appliances Deluxe AC
Hey Keolaokalani, you can install a 15k BTU GE RV AC unit in your Coachman Catalina but you'll have to replace everything to do so with the part # GE44RR as just the top unit you mentioned is not compatible with the Dometic lower vent assembly you have now. There isn't a reliable way to mix and match AC unit upper and lower units is why.

  • Do I Have to Replace the Thermostat When I Replace the Control Board on a GE AC System?
Yes, you will Karen. Since you added the GE Appliances RV AC Control Board item # GE27FR you'll need the Single Zone Smart Thermostat for GE Appliances RV ACs item # GE29FR. This is designed to work with the systems that have the new R32 refrigerant. What of trailer or motorhome do you have?

  • Can RV AC Unit Install on Sloped Roof
Hey Marcus, so RV AC units need to sit as close to level as possible to ensure that the drains can function properly as well as make sure the oil in the unit can get everywhere it needs to within the AC. Normally the acceptable out of level range is up to 5 degrees either way and you'll be fine. Looking at your picture there's a pretty good chance you are fine but I would grab a level and put it on there and see exactly the level. Your smart phone might have a level on it as well that...

  • Replacement AC for a GE AC Unit Model ARC13AACBL2
Hey Eric, thanks for the information! Your older GE ARC13AACBL2 with 410a refrigerant is not going to be compatible with any AC components that came out this year. Everything has the new R32 refrigerant now so it's made all the 410a systems and components obsolete. I recommend upgrading your entire system now because spare parts for the old 410a systems are not going to be around long and you won't be able to source replacements down the road. Here are the options I have to replace your...
