Awesome product. Use it for everything.
Great to be able to reach up and grab a water hose for whatever. Wash off dishes, wash hands, spray mud from shoes, spray dust and dirt from my off road trailer it is attached to before opening and using it....and of course take that hot shower :-)
So far I really think this is going to be a great product, I mounted it to my Front Runner rack, my next day's off I'm going to fill it up and park in the sun and see what this baby will do.
Great item! Great communication!! Fast shipping!! Great consolidation of pakages!!
Use plumbers tape on the fittings. In sunny weather, it performs as advertised.
My boyfriend was so happy with this gift! He is a surfer, and he goes out every day in the water. Usually he puts a bunch of gallon water bottles in the back of his truck to rinse off, but now he doesn’t have to! He literally can rinse off him and his board and his truck if he needs to with the road shower! Most useful gift for anyone who likes to play outside!
Game changer, I do a lot of camping and the RoadShower works! Fit perfectly on my 2019 Sienna minivan camper conversion, installed in 60 minutes.
I purchased (2x) 10 Gallon RoadShowers. The RoadShower is an excellent product. I am pleased with the build quality. I am also extremely pleased with the etrailer.com customer service team with their assistance in helping me place my order. I'm hard to please and I am a happy customer. Thank you!
Just opened the shipping box. I was surprised at how well it was packed. From the taped shipping straps to the closed cell foam formed around the tank. On time delivery.
Since I haven't mounted the Road Shower yet I can only state that the tank is heavy duty supporting the idea that it can run at 65# of pressure. The mounting hardware is easy to assemble and appears to fit very well into the intended slots. I liked the fact that the brass shut off valve was pre-taped in its own padded baggy. The hoes mounts well to the side of the tank well and should travel well in rough roads as well as at highway speeds. Other than hand tools the "Kit" includes everything you would need to mount the kit even if you just loaded it up and go to your favorite site for a quick weekend. Once arrived you could mount, fill, and use the system. Though I wouldn't drink any water from the system until it was flushed and sanitized at least a couple of times.
In these restricted times on travel it my take a couple of months before I can get away for awhile, just retired. So I am preparing to do some driveway adventuring to find out the Pro's and Con's of the kit. I will give a follow up review later after I get to use this on a week long tour of some mountain side. I will also add some pictures then.
Worth the wait. Product arrived very well packaged and protected. Unpacked and was in immaculate condition. Did the math when trying to build a DYI shower, quality parts and pressure-type ABS would cost similar and would not be made out of aluminum. Very happy with product.
Only wish is the brackets to bolt to rack system should be lockable versus nylock type bolts. I bought padlock and cable but simple security locks on bolts like Other Thule/Yakima rack products.
A great idea but sadly has not worked well at all. Yakima tried to send us some new parts but they didn’t last. Basically it is full of water and will work for a couple quick showers (we use it after surfing) and then it just blows out air even though it still has plenty of water in the tank. Hoping we can get one that works at some point and still talking to Yakima (a year later) to try and get new replacement parts.
The Yakima RoadShower was such a great addition for helping my family on a beach trip. We like to get away from crowds and that usually means we don't always have access to showers when leaving the beach. Being able to hose our feet and kids toys off before getting back in the truck was awesome. I have used it for a few trips and like having the parking lot flex of pressurized water at the car. Every time we use it someone stops to check it out.
I don't have a roof rack on my camper shell so I just keep it in the back of the truck. Its pretty heavy so it doesnt move around. The flat bottom design helps out a lot even though its designed to go on a roof rack. I use an air compressor to get it pressurized but I have also used a bike pump but thats not preferred especially if you can mount it on your roof. I do feel that the last bit of water is hard to keep pressurized but usually one tank gets us through a couple beach visits. A built in gauge for psi or water level would be a nice touch.
I have also used this to clean off my bikes after I have been out on a soft trail. I wouldn't say this is a must to have a good trip but its pretty dang nice to have when you need to clean stuff off. Otherwise I would be cleaning sand out of my truck for months once I get back home.
You cannot go wrong with this shower. Installation was a breeze. Be aware that if you side mount this unit there is a little more thought required as it was primarily designed to sit on top of a rack. My side installation went without a hitch and very little custom additions…
I should have purchased this a long time ago. The Yakima Road shower comes in very useful when I need to wash off my dirty dog because he decided to roll around in the dirt on road trips. This will also be great when I need to wash off during camping trips. Installation was very simple but keep in mind you will need to purchase teflon tape to prevent water leaks from the hose fittings. Although you can remove it and transfer to another vehicle, this one will stay mounted on top of my Jeep. I like it so much I want to purchase another one for my truck! Directions say that you have to remove the road shower in order to drain the tank when not in use, well I came up with a solution so that I don’t have to remove the system. All you need is a long enough hose and you can siphon the water that’s left over after draining. The only request I would suggest is that this unit was lead free so that I can use it as a drinking water source. Overall this thing is amazing and fits our needs!
Arrived quickly in perfect shape, easy to install, & a very high-quality product.
Spray nozzle was bent at end that connects to hose. Schrader valve was bent and cracked need to get replacements.

Thank you and your staff for the excellent five star customer service in resolving my issue. Much Mahalo and Aloha
This tank is amazing and lots of water to clean of mud/sand. Had some shipping issues due to the distance traveled for the package. I would recommend that Yakima add one extra bolt/washer/nut combo of each size. Our package didn't come with all appropriate hardware. Also, if you decide on the 10' long tank, the hose is a bit short to be completely contained by the Velcro at the sprayer end.

The road shower concept is still a great thing for cleaning off sanddirt. After a year of use I have some quirks to explain... 1. The nozzle threaded ball valve hole is too small to get all of the water out as the pressure diminishes. 2. I have the 10 gallon model and the hose length does not fit properly to match the clampvelcro holder that is a part of the tank. 3. the bike tube air valve cap corrodes easily in my environment and is extremely difficult to remove in order to pressurize the tank. 4. I have figured out If you want to let gravity pull out the remaining water the black larger cap must be removed in order to allow air to keep the water from self vacuuming itself in the tank. Overall, I still really enjoy having the water on my Yakima setup, just wish the capvalveshose were larger in size to match the tank.
