Today on our 2017 Nissan Ultima, we're going to be test-fitting the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack system consisting of part numbers RRVA126S-2, these are the silver crossbars; part number RRRLKVA, and these are the 2500 Series legs for the Vortex Aero Crossbars; and part number DK381, and this is the custom fit kit for your Ultima that clamps it on to your vehicle. Now, we already have the front on installed, and you can see that it has this nice aerodynamic shape to the bar itself, and that coupled with the rubber strip on the top here will actually cut down the wind noise and drag while you're driving. It is lockable, so once you actually attach both crossbars to your vehicle, it is secured to your vehicle as well. Now, the combined weight capacity for both bars is 165 pounds, although you always want to double-check with your owner's manual to make sure your roof can withstand that kind of weight. Also, these do come in black as part number RRVA126FB-2. All right, let's go ahead and show you how the rear one goes on. We already have it partially assembled on our table, here. We'll go ahead and take our 2500 Series leg, and we'll actually slide it into our track here with this metal bracket, here. It'll just slide in like so, and then we're going to go ahead and do a couple of measurements here to determine the spacing between this edge here and our leg. Normally, you would have measuring strips that you would cut to length, put them in there so it's more of a permanent application, but for demonstration purposes, we'll just go ahead and measure it out. You can find these measurements in your instructions.
Now we'll take our included tightening tool and tighten that bolt in the center. Good. All right, next we'll go ahead and take our rubber pad, making sure that the arrow is facing away. It just pushes into place. Then finally, we'll attach our clamp.
We'll first remove this bolt here. Set that in place, then we'll reinsert our bolt, just loosely. Okay, then we'll take our end-cap, push that into place, and then take our special tool to secure it. Now, you can have these knocked out and replaced with lock cords 00:03:16 as well, but those are sold separately. Let's go ahead and set this on our vehicle, now. We'll open up both of our rear doors and then we'll set our bar in place. Now, we're not setting this in the exact spot it's supposed to be, and we're going to have to measure that out.
You notice how the pads actually conform with our roof, here. All right, now I'll go ahead and get our crossbar spread measurement. That's what I mentioned earlier. Again, you find this measurement in your instructions, and you're going to be measuring from center of the bar to center of the bar. Now, how we determine the measurement for the front one, we actually measured from the center of the door jam, to the center of the bar. Just so you know. Okay, now we'll take our tightening tool and we're just get them snug up against the edge of our door, there, and then tighten them down completely.
Push up, like so, and turn it to the right to tighten it up. Do this on the other side as well. Now we'll give about five or six turns to each side until it's completely tightened down. The way you know it's completely tightened down, you'll notice that the tool here has a curved edged. Once that straightens up as you're tightening, you'll know it's completely tightened, so you don't have to worry about overdoing it or under-doing it. All right, looks good there. All right. Now our last step is to go ahead and install our lock and caps. All right, it looks like we're good to go. There you have it for the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack system for our 2017 Nissan Ultima.

Overall, this rack deserves a 5/5. This rack is very durable and easy to use. I am confident that my two-person kayak will stay put for long road trips. I drive a Nissan Altima and I would recommend this to anybody with a similar body style.

2014 NISSAN ALTIMA roof rack installation went easy. Between the instructions and the helpful video, it was less than a hour to properly install. Looks great.

I purchased this rack for our 2015 Nissan Altima. We ordered the system with the square "Euro" bars. Package arrived quickly and in good condition. Instructions were generally good and easy to follow although the information on where to set the supports on the "Euro" bars was incorrect. I looked at pictures of installed systems to see where the supports needed to be on the roof and then manually moved them in place. It took a little adjusting back and forth with trial and error, but it ended up working fine. Since then the rack works well and seems quite solid. We are pleased with the quality and value for the cost.

Almost immediately the staff advised me via phone call and email that the product could not be expedited due to it not being readily available in the distribution center.
Although I was disappointed, I appreciated the emails and phone calls and began to think up options for transporting my bike. The staff indicated they would keep me updated as they looked for a solution.
And then, the next day, I got an email to say my product shipped and would be here on time! I was so excited!

I beat the heck out of this rack on a Daily basis. I throw kayaks, luggage, several 16 and 20ft 2x6’s, plywood, camping gear, and anything else large and typically put into the bed of a truck. You wouldn’t believe me unless I showed you the kind of life my equipment has. It’s gotta be tough. I do wish that it had a better grip strength forward and backwards because unless the load is heavy and large enough, if a strap is used from front rack to back rack, the racks tend to slide towards eachother as it ratchets tighter. However if you run the strap across and hook the strap back onto the same bar, the way the rack flexes causes the grip to be immovable and is incredibly secure. But with no load, I can hammer fist the racks forward or back wards even when tightened down with the torque wrench. So I feel maybe some minor adjustments by the company would definitely solve this. All in all, yes it’s a bit on the higher price side, It’s got that one con (sliding), but has definitely exceeded it’s factory “max load” specification and structural integrity. I would recommend this product. It’s a great rack.
Great alternative to the other makes that cost a few hundred more. Very stable. Easy to set up and perfect fit! Looks great on my car. Just waiting on my bike rack to come in.

The racks fit perfectly! They are a great fit to my car. They don’t interfere with the sunroof’s operation. I assembled it on my own with no difficulty. It was easy to assemble. The directions it provides to you are easy to follow. The only down side was getting the plastic pieces to lock on the ends of the bars. Other than that they are great and they look great on my car! I plan to use them to transport kayaks! They are very sturdy and very trust worthy for transporting a couple of kayaks. I recommend these racks to anyone who has a 2016 or 2017 Nissan Altima!
