Video Transcript for How to Install the Inno Aero Flush Roof Rack for Naked Roofs on a 2020 Toyota Tacoma

Evangeline: Hi, it's Evangeline from etrailer.com and today we are looking at our Inno Aero Roof Rack Kit on our 2020 Toyota Tacoma. Now what's great about having this roof rack is if you need to free up some space from your truck bed, you can put them up on your roof rack, as well as if you don't want to worry too much about stressing over it in complicated install, this is a good option for you. So let's take a look at the features of this roof rack. Now the first and foremost, my favorite part about this is how streamlined it looks. It really matches the whole look of the Tacoma. It's nice.

It's sporty. It looks really good, especially on a new truck like this, and it sits low profile, so it looks good, even if there's nothing mounted on it.How low profile exactly Let's see. So from our roof to the top of our bar, it's about three inches tall, so that's enough. You just have to think about that when you're driving through places, you have three extra inches on top of your truck. Some things people might worry about with this roof rack in particular is how, since it doesn't stick out, you might have a little bit less room to mount items, and let's see exactly how much space you have to mount accessories.

From that end to this end, it's about 40 and a half inches. So if that's a worry for you, you might want to consider getting another roof rack that extends out, but some people really like how low profile it is and how it doesn't stick out, so if that's something you like, then it's a very good option. Both sides of each crossbar come with locks, so there's a key to lock and you just unlock and you lock it for security. And if you're worried about scratching your truck with this easy install, it has these rubber mounts here just designed to prevent scratching, and these hooks are designed to fit perfectly against the contours of your truck, so that you can even slam it shut. So let's look at how we installed this. The first step here is to push the slider of the bar and you shouldn't be putting your finger inside that slit there, but push it out over here where it's safe. When this is out, you can then insert this plate to go from the bottom and then up, and you push the slider back inside with the plate.

If it's stuck, you can push that button down to help it slide through, all the way to the end, just like that, until it's centered inside. Then the next step is to get your base stay and this one is locked, so we get the keys and we just unlock that and lift the cover up and out. With that out of the way, you will look at this stay and this says right, so you have to have a right and a left for each crossbar. What we need to do is insert this bolt here, inside the plate, so to do that, I just put it upside down and then I try to center it over. Once it's in there, it'll just drop into place. That looks good.

Then you can just slide this out to the end. If you don't know how far or spaced they should be, it depends actually, if it's the front or the rear bar. I already installed the front bar, so the rear bar is 22 and a quarter inches. Now we have the middle marked out here and you measure all the way to the end, to where the arrow is. So right at the arrow to the middle, it says 24 and a quarter, so this should be a good placement right there. We're ready to tighten it down. With your base stay in place, you can then put the foot onto. There we go. That way. Now remember for the rear, it's a flat foot or a flat base for the base stay. There you go, that's on right there and this is to protect your car. After that foot is in place, you can then put the hook on.So to put the hook on, you have to loosen and take out this bolt first and keep the washers with you. You then insert this hook and reinsert the bolts. So if both base stays are installed onto the end of your crossbar, you're ready to put it on your truck. It's pretty nice to have a set of helping hands here so that you don't accidentally drop it on your truck, so we have Zach over here, who's going to grab the other end from up there as we set it on our truck. To figure out where to place your crossbars, you're going to use a tape measure here, and you will measure from the inside seam of the door. So from the door to the middle, for the front, it's nine and three quarters so that looks about right, and from the back base stay, it's supposed to be 17 and three quarters, so it's not exactly there. We're going to push it a little bit. So to align it into good position, this needs to be 17 and three quarters, so it should be right there. Push it up until it aligns like that, then we're going to lock it into place. If you have your base stay measured into the position it needs to be in, you're ready to use the included tool to tighten it down. Now I recommend to go back and forth while tightening it so you don't have too much tension on one side, pulling it and possibly skewing the positions of your crossbar. You tighten both sides. Just tighten it until you hear a clicking sound. There we go. That's tight in there. And to finish our installation, we throw on these caps, then we lock them down. There we go, all done.So it is a pretty good roof rack. Remember it has a weight capacity of 165 pounds, which still is a pretty high capacity. Just keep that in mind when you're driving around, how high it is and how much you can put on there, but all in all my final thoughts about it, I like how it looks and I like how easy it was to install. I like this roof rack. This was the Inno Aero Roof Rack Kit on a 2020 Toyota Tacoma..

etrailer was great to order from! Going to the website makes it easy to see what roof rack will fit your vehicle. Ordering process was a breeze and the fulfillment updates were great. Ordered on the 13th and received it on the 16th so the FREE shipping was super fast. New installs of anything can always be challenging but once I read the the instructions it all went pretty smooth. Installing this Inno Roof Rack onto our 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport was pretty simple and took less than an hours from start to finish. Now we are ready to load up out Thule cargo carrier when we hit the road.

We bought the rack to put our Thule cargo box on for extra storage. We purchased a 2022 Airstream Basecamp 16X in June 2023 and the ability to put the racks on and add the Thule box for extra storage is a blessing, I can get the racks on in 20 mins by myself.

Inno has their act together. The only thing you need to install this rack is a box knife to open the boxes.
The rack was a perfect fit. The instructions are easy to understand. It assembled quickly and is secure when installed on the roof.

Instructions were a bit tough at first as each box had their own instructions and you needed all 3 boxes to complete the setup, yet after over coming that, it was a breeze to put together and they are wonderful. Well worth the money.

  • What is the Inno Roof Rack Weight Capacity for My 2016 Toyota Tacoma Limited Double Cab?
Hello Dana, Yes, the Inno Square Bar Roof Rack for Naked Roofs - Steel - Black - Qty 2 # IN79TR will be a great fit for your 2016 Toyota Tacoma Limited Double Cab without factory rails. As for the weight rating, you are only as strong as the weakest link, the feet are actually rated for 132 pounds, so I cannot recommend putting more weight on the roof rack than that. As you already know, you will want to check your owners manual to see what Toyota says you can put up there, based on my...

  • Can I Use My Old Thule SquareBars With My 2017 Toyota Tacoma
You can use your older square crossbars if they are the SquareBar Evo Crossbars. Those crossbars have a channel underneath the bar that is used to mount it to the Thule foot. If this is the case, your roof rack for your 2017 Toyota Tacoma will consist of the following: Thule SquareBar Evo Crossbars - Steel - 53" Long - Qty 2, part # TH712400, Evo Clamp Feet for Thule Crossbars - Naked Roofs - Qty 4, part # TH710501, Fit Kit for Thule Evo Clamp Roof Rack Feet - 5107, part # TH145107, and...

  • Is Clamp Kit Needed to Install Inno Square Bar Roof Rack on 2019 Toyota Tacoma
You're on the right track, but in addition to the the # INB137 54 inch square crossbars and the # INSUT roof rack feet, you will indeed need the # INK729 vehicle-specific clamp kit.

  • Single Bar Inno Roof Rack that Fits 2021 Toyota Tacoma
For a single bar Inno roof rack for your 2021 Toyota Tacoma you would want the part # INXB138 for the bar but the rest of the components are all sold for a two bar setup. So you'd also need the part # INXS250 for the feet and part # INK729 for the fit kit.

  • Inno Roof Rack Fit for 2020 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab With Naked Roof
There is an Inno roof rack that fits a 2020 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab with a naked roof, though the part you mentioned is just a foot pack, and it doesn't work with the Inno rack systems that fit your Tacoma Double Cab. Instead, the Inno rack that fits is made up of the following parts: - Inno Aero Crossbars # INXB145-2 - Inno Through Feet for Aero Crossbars # INXS250 - Custom Fit Kit # INK729 These are 59 inch crossbars which are going to give you the maximum amount of space to carry...

  • Most Affordable Roof Rack For 2017 Toyota Tacoma Naked Roof Double Cab
The least expensive rack for your 2017 Toyota Tacoma is actually a truck bed rack: Inno Truck Bed Cargo Rack # INRT102-65. This simply installs into your truck bed's track system and provides a square bar setup for accessories. If you want a rack for your roof and not the truck bed then for naked roof with double cab, your most affordable option is Inno Square Crossbars - Steel - Black - 54" Long - Qty 2 # INB137 with the necessary Feet # INSUT and Fit Kit # INK729.

  • Cost Effective Roof Rack To Use With Cargo Box on a 2019 Toyota Tacoma
Yes, one of the most cost effective roof racks we have for a 2019 Toyota Tacoma is the Inno part # INXB115-2, # INXS200, and # INK729. This will work perfect with a Thule Rooftop Cargo Box. In regards to the compatibility of a Thule Rooftop Cargo Box, this can vary slightly by model but most will work with pretty much all roof racks. That said, you do not need to obtain a Thule Roof Rack to use a Thule Rooftop Cargo Box as compatibility based off bar size not so much brand.

  • Cargo Carrying Options for 2010 Toyota Tacoma Pulling 13-Foot Vintage Travel Trailer
Mounting any sort of cargo carrying accessory at the front of your trailer, or using a multi-purpose ball mount like the Curt # D-210 along with a hitch-mount cargo carrier will likely affect your turning clearance with your trailer. Also, any modifications to your existing equipment, or any custom-made items, could potentially have an unknown capacity. I do not recommend either of these options for safety reasons. I suggest you add a roof rack to your Tacoma to allow use of a rack-mount...
