What is the Inno Roof Rack Weight Capacity for My 2016 Toyota Tacoma Limited Double Cab?

Updated 07/24/2025 | Published 07/19/2025

Question:

I am interested in getting this for my 2016 Toyota Tacoma Limited Double Cab without a factory rack. I want to confirm two things: first, that this fits my vehicle and second, the max load for the rack I realize I need to check the max rating for the vehicle as well since the info page says 220 lbs but I see answers to posed questions stating 140, which I believe is closer to being accurate Also, I am interested in seeing whether I can get bars that are longer, say 60 inches? If so, what would the cost differential be to increase bar size?

Hello Dana,

Yes, the Inno Square Bar Roof Rack for Naked Roofs - Steel - Black - Qty 2 # IN79TR will be a great fit for your 2016 Toyota Tacoma Limited Double Cab without factory rails. As for the weight rating, you are only as strong as the weakest link, the feet are actually rated for 132 pounds, so I cannot recommend putting more weight on the roof rack than that. As you already know, you will want to check your owners manual to see what Toyota says you can put up there, based on my research this roof rack would be rated higher than what your roof can handle while driving.

I know you said you wanted the 60" maybe, but Inno only has a 58" square bars, this is what you will want for the 58" bars:

- Custom Fit Kit for Inno XS200, XS250, and INSU-K5 Roof Rack Feet # INK729

- Inno Feet for Square Crossbars - Naked Roofs - Black - Qty 4 # INSUT

- Inno Square Crossbars - Steel - Black - 58" Long - Qty 2 # INB147

What were you looking to use the rack for?

Is there another Inno style rack or a different brand rack which has a higher max load rating? Thanks!

@DanaT The Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack for Naked Roofs - HD Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - Qty 2 # Y43JB is going to be your highest rated rack. The bars are rated for 500 pounds, but the feet are rated for 220, and these would be 55" long crossbars. Or there is the Rhino-Rack Heavy Duty Roof Rack for Naked Roofs - Aluminum - Black - Qty 2 # RR64BP the bars are 54" and rated for 220, but the feet are rated for 165. This option is a little more friendly on the pocket book over the Yakima. If you like one of these and want to explore the longer bars, just let me know =)
