Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Folks, let's take a look together at a Replacement Ratcheting Wheel Hook for your Yakima HoldUp Bike Carriers. Now, folks, this specifically is gonna be for the front wheel hook to hold in place on those Yakima HoldUp Carriers. I'll throw those item numbers on the screen, and this again, just replaces one lost or damaged Ratcheting Wheel Hook for that Yakima HoldUp Hitch-Mounted Bike Carrier. You simply depress the red spring lever, put it down on the front bar, and then you're ready to go. As you know, it's gonna ratchet as you're pushing it down onto the bar, and then to raise it up or down, you simply push in the red spring little lever, and push it up or down over the front wheel to hold it in place.

Perfect replacement for an old worn-out one, a fresh racheting sound is always reassuring. Easy fitment. ETrailer towed the efficiency line through all this supply chain crud and I received it sooner than expected. Great product, great service as usual - awesome communication / updates.

My Yakima Hold Up is over 10 years old and the hook which I use the most was wearing and started to slip. This replacement hook was exactly what I need to get another 10 year out of an otherwise great rack.

The only available replacement hook is the same as the one that comes with this bike rack. Yakima doesn't make one that will allow you to use a wider tire on a 29" wheel.

The replacement parts for it are a bit limited due to it's age which means that from Yakima you can only replace the front tray assembly with # Y90197 or the rear with # Y90198.

There is a “C-Clip” on the outside of the pin, use a small flat bladed screw driver to remove the clip from the pin. Need to be careful not to lose the clip as it will want to pop off the pin. Once the clip is removed the pin slides out and the cap will come off and the hook can then be removed from the arm. Just follow the process in reverse to re-install the hook, cap, and pin.
